slowly closing

When I worked at American Standard, we manufactured wooden toilet seats - "Best Seats in the House". I haven't bought a wooden seat for decades, simply because I was involved in development the company's plastic ones. But when my plastic one failed at the hinge area, I opted to the old-fashioned wooden one again. Withe the development of new hinges it incorporates the slow-closing feature that most females desire. My major issue with this one is that it requires 1/2 in wrench to tighten the nuts. Frankly it is a challenge if the installer doesn't have a 1/2 inch ratchet wrench (which I did not). $10 later and a trip to Home Depot, the seat now sits firmly on its porcelain.

Requires strength in your hands to install

The first one of the toilet seats I received had a broken ring and that is not at all comfortable when it pinches your buttock. The second one I received had scratches on the lid and seat. I did not return the second one because Porcelon is cold when you go relieve yourself at 4 in the morning and I was tired of being wide awake afterward.

Comfortable Seat with a Flaw

This seat is plenty comfortable and has enough room in front for the ol' #2 without crowding, but the lid drops very slowly. The seat itself soft-closes perfectly - drops at a consistent rate and touches the bowl with the faintest click. The lid on the other hand begins to drop at the same rate but about 2/3 the way down slows to a crawl. We're talking as slow as the minute hand of a clock. It does close all the way eventually, but man it takes it's sweet time. I tried loosening the hinge-to-bowl anchors and shifting them, thinking maybe there was some binding, but to no avail. I can live with it, and it seems to have sped up very slightly in the 3 months we've had the thing, but I do wish the lid closed at a rate approximating the seat. We have another slow close lid in our guest/child bathroom and it had the same issue (different maker and type), but it improved after about a week (probably the viscous damper just needed to loosen up). This one gets used more and it still hasn't happened, so I doubt it ever will. Oh yeah, installation was easy and all that jazz. Everything else about it is either really good or top notch, except for the lid closing rate.

Looks good. Feels even better.

This is the second toilet set I have purchased this year. Cheap does not always equal better. Not only is it comfy to sit on, it looks “stylish” too. I’m so glad I invested in this seat and recommend it to everyone!

Great Throne!

Let me tell you, this toilet seat is no joke. It's like sitting on a fluffy cloud made of unicorns and rainbows. Not only is it the most comfortable position I've ever been in while doing my business, but I almost fell asleep mid-poop because it was so darn cozy. I've been using this toilet seat for a while now and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. I've had some of the best poops in the last 20 years thanks to this throne. I never knew a toilet seat could make such a difference, but boy was I wrong. In fact, this toilet seat is so comfortable that I think it's better than my bed. I may just start sleeping on it instead. Overall, I give this toilet seat two thumbs up (but let's be honest, I need those thumbs for other things while using the bathroom). If you're in the market for a new throne, look no further. This toilet seat will change your life (and your bowel movements) for the better.

Love the slow close

We did a little bathroom refresh and it was time for a new toilet seat. Paired with the new toilet handle, it looks so good! I like the slow close feature as well. Some mentioned that the toilet seat doesn’t stay up and this might be so for your toilet. We got two of these and it’s fine in one bathroom but falls in the other. I think it just has to do with your toilet placement and a few centimeters more forward makes all the difference in whether the seat will stay up or fall down as you are using the bathroom. Overall it’s a good product. The hinges look high end and definitely create an elevated look to your toilet.

They close really softly. The nickel pieces match our other nickel hardware in the bathroom. Buy them, you won’t regret it.

Finally found a seat that fits

Our town’s contractor got a great deal On coroma toilets from Australia. However you can’t find seats in North America for them under $300. :( This one fits! Sort of but the best we’ve found so far.
