A very good edc bag

I received a Maxpedition Mongo Versapack as a gift a decade ago and it's been my work bag every day since, except for a brief switch to a Sitka Gearslinger, and a few more. I'm a big Maxpedition fan. For Father's Day I purchased the Veldspar hoping for a smaller, easier to carry around option than the Mongo but a look that is a lot less aggressive than the Sitka. I do not want to be mistaken for a violent person when I'm out and about, because these are funny times we live in. The Veldspar suits these purposes. I love the disappearing bottle holder, and I really love that Maxpedition is now making products designed around modern edc itemes like tablets and computers. Previously with the Legacy gear you had to get a much bigger bag than you may have wanted to get an iPad into it. This bag has a great slip pocket for any tablet up to the size of a 10.5 inch iPad. No 12 inch ultraportable computer will fit. Nor a 12 inch iPad Pro. I own one, and a Samsung Galaxy Book 12 inch, and they won't fit. 8 1/2 by 11 sheets of paper won't fit without crimping or folding. My Samsung Tab S3 fits perfectly though, in it's OEM case. You can roll up a hoodie and get that in to the main compartment. I've see a few complaints about the seatbelt shoulder strap, but I like it. It's very comfy has a luxy sheen. The top grab handle is very usable, and easy to find in the dark. In fact, this is the easiest Maxpedition bag to deal with by touch in the dark I've ever had. The bag rides nicely on the shoulder and hip, as all Versapacks do. Better than the Gearslingers in my opinion. The only slight negatives about the design are the side (cellphone) pocket that opens from the bottom, which seems like an odd design choice. However a big phone (pixel 2 xl, in a silicone case) kind of folds into the pocket making it seem pretty secure. And the zipper for the pocket falls right under my hand when closed, so... I guess. The other weird thing is the ccw pocket being visually the main feature. It is on top of 3 main openings for the bag, seemingly the most important thing. On the Legacy gear the ccw are practically hidden, which was cool. The ccw pocket should be less conspicuous. Maxpedition really wants off-body carry to be a thing. There's been much dissent about the zippers on the Veldspar, but I've had no issue. You've got to use the pull tabs, which are good (once again, a far less aggressive look than the Legacy gears' paracord), and be decisive. All in all, a good man purse. Room for some basic edc like a Leatherman and LED light, and a booboo kit, without it feeling overloaded and bulky. And it doesn't make people wonder what's in it.

MAXPEDITION AT IT’S BEST IS AWESOME

Really great tactical bag. This is why I have continued to buy Maxpedition gear. Far too often I will wind up buying something that is good but not great. I was looking for a more briefcase style tactical bag; with some details that were only for show. But it’s the ‘tell’ part that I am truly looking for in a bag/case or whatever you name the item where you keep your essential items and always are looking for... I think I have just about every size and design from maxpedition over the many years of purchase; and it’s been due to my needs for the highest quality and tactical designs. From simple to this one which is the best that I have found. Large enough for everything but luggage. Incredible build made for hard work and long life. The different compartments and zipper tight places (just in the right place); well maybe it’s partially because I have used so many maxpedition products that everything seems to be perfect. But if something has been even close to perfect... keep with it. Highly recommended for certain.

Been a long time Maxpedition customer have many of there products absolutely awesome products well built, great attention to detail and yes a little on the pricey side but IMO worth every dime..Quality Products ain't Cheap and Cheap products ain't good !! Recently purchased this item must have been a 'flaw' in the zipper cord pull ring I went to open the pouch and the loop ring came off along with the cord only used this twice since I received it kinda a big surprise due to the fact that all of my gear from Maxpedtion I've used over the years we've NEVER had an issue Zero Nuttin Notta...Emailed Amazon no problem send it back for a full refund..thank you Amazon Oh and yes I'll still be a loyal Maxpedtion/Amazon customer..S#** Happens

Looks good and wanted to like it...

I really wanted to like this bag, but had multiple issues. The space just isn't very usable. The pockets are really limited as to what you can put in them. The compartments don't open up well either. The admin pocket is too thin and hard to access. The side pocket needs to be a little more expandable and have an inner slide pocket. The inner gossamer pocket needs to be a little more deeper & expandable to be useful. Even the water bottle pocket is way too tight, and both it and the admin pocket intrude on the interior space of the bag if you put much in them. It's like they tried to make the whole design streamlined and look good, at the expense of usefulness. Also, not a fan of the seatbelt material strap - looks out of place on the bag and cheap. The zippers pretty much require 2 hands to operate because they stick so bad (even after using a while). On a positive note, the hexagonal nylon pattern on the outside looks great, grab handle design works well, and the overall look of the bag is great and finally a lot less tactical (as a CCW bag should be). For now, going back to my Tom Bihn bag - it's just a lot more useful in the real world...

J'adore ce sac, très pratique et j'ai été surprise de tout ce qui peut y entrer ! Et imperméable en plus! Seul petit inconvénient, il est sortit de l'emballage avec un trou ressemblant à une brûlure ce qui rend cette section non imperméable.

Forma muy extraña

Esta es la única mochila de Maxpedition que me arrepiento haber comprado. Prácticamente, lo que se carga es la mochila puesto que no le entra casi nada. La forma asimétrica que tiene es otro gran impedimento para acomodar las cosas dentro. No la recomiendo, aunque tampoco es que sea muy mala. Tiene buenas características de ajustabilidad que la hacen versátil y su construcción es muy buena. Pero al menos para mis necesidades se queda corta. Tengo otras mochilas más pequeñas donde puedo acomodar más cosas.
