Very Attractive Bowl And Utensil Set!

This bowl and utensil set is without any major flaws in the workmanship. It is very attractive and I like most anything that is made from wood in the kitchen. I have never owned a piece made from rubber wood before however. It has a very attractive grain pattern and blonde in color with a few contrasting darker colored knots and swirls of darker grain so it is very nice to look at. It is a large bowl and the diameter is as advertised at over 13". The utensils are also just over 13" in length. If you are serving a group of family or friends this bowl will hold a ample amount of a green salad or pasta salad and look very good on your table doing it. It seems to be sealed well with some kind of coating but the description does not state what it is. It does say to wipe it with mineral oil when it starts to feel rough and dry. The description doesn't indicate if you could put a warm dish of any kind in it but I don't see why you couldn't. The size of this bowl means it's going to consume a lot of counter top space or room in the cupboards. We generally do not need bowls of this size for serving so I think this is going to sit on the counter top in the corner and hold vegetables and or fruit. It looks to nice to hide it in the pantry or cupboard. At the price point it could be argued it's a bit over priced but I'm happy with what i received and wood will always cost you a bit more and looks far better than cheap plastic bowls.

Nice bowl, especially for entertaining

I like this bowl and the matching utensils. It is nice looking and good quality. I like the fact that you can see the natural wood grain. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it is not easy to clean. It cannot be soaked or washed out. It can only be wiped out with damp cloth. This limits the foods you can fill it with- no dressings or oils. I think you could line it with parchment paper or something to help keep it clean if needed.

Feels Lightweight, but nice!

This wood salad bowl is a nice piece, and seems good quality. Has a nice smooth finish. Overall is very lightweight but again a decent size, roughly 12"-13" around. It could also be used as a fruit bowl too if you aren't serving salads. I have used it for apples and looks great. Kind of gives a nice farmhouse vibe. It comes with 2 server spoons. So far no complaints. Be sure to handwash only and don't let it soak in water for too long, could very well start to crack!

As Described

This product arrived quickly and in minimal packaging. Over all I am happy with this bowl. Yes it is a little expensive for a wooden bowl and two utensils but when you get them in your hand you will realize that the price was worth it. The bowl is beautiful and a great addition to your kitchen.

BIG salad spoon is more like a ladle. Lovely wood, no splits or swollen seams

The best thing about this set is the actually functional salad serving set. I mean, have you ever felt like everyone was staring at you waiting to pass the salad bowl or move along in the potluck line, and you're grappling with this small wooden fork and shallow spoon, and you finally give up and you have 3 pieces of lettuce and a crouton? This serving set is like a good dream, the way it scoops up a salad plate full of salad and holds onto it during transport from bowl to plate. The second best thing is that it is well put together. Even after some use with vinegary dressings and damp salad greens, and sitting with the dressing on it for a while (whoops) it came clean easily, and there were no splits or swelling around the seams. The third best thing is that it is pretty and the wood of the bowl and serving set matches. There is only one moderate downside and that is that this has a large footprint and might be difficult to store if you have a small kitchen. This would make a good gift for a housewarming or engagement or wedding. Maybe a gift for someone who is trying to eat healthier, or for yourself if that is the case -- it's motivational for making salads because it's so useful and pretty and because it doesn't make sense to have something so large in your kitchen if you aren't going to use it.

Very nice quality

I’ve always wanted a wooden bowl and spoon to serve salads in. This takes the cake! It’s lovely. The color is so neutral and the wood is smooth and a beautiful shape.
