Very close, but not exactly what I expected
I have a collection of daylilies and I wanted to immortalize their "greatest hits" in a collage. Before I sent my photo files to the printer, I carefully cropped them in Photoshop so I was getting as much flower as possible in a 4x6 format. When I went to install them in the frame, I found that the openings in the mat are actually 3-1/2x5-1/2. The frame cropped what I had already cropped! Actually, the cropped look is starting to grow on me. The flowers are no longer formal portraits and seem to bleed together just as they did in the bed. At least that's how I've rationalized it. Just remember that you might loose a relative or two in tight family reunion shots. Also be prepared to get out your magic mending tape. There is no way to successfully position your photos without it. I simply taped them to the back of the mat with a couple tape hinges at the top of each photo. There was a small nick in the finish of the frame. I'm not sure if it came that way or if I caused it while unpacking the frame or installing the pictures. Either way, a black Sharpie pen provided a quick fix. The frame has a nearly matte black finish so the damaged spot is now undetectable. The packaging that the frame came in seemed to be almost bulletproof. Sadly, the sheer quantity of packaging is not very "green" and not in keeping with the subjects I'm displaying. I know there's no way around it, but for some reason I feel guilty. Will I buy it again? Definitely, now that I know exactly what to expect.

Perfect collage for 9 4x6 images!
All the other collages I found on Amazon were a mix of horizontal and vertical image slots, but I just wanted horizontal. The frame arrived in perfect condition. I don't know why the title of this product says it is for 4x7 inch photos, because it is definitely for 4x6 inch ones. Sure, they openings in the mat are slightly smaller than 4x6, but that is how a mat is supposed to work. It is better to have a little cropped off the image than to see the edge of the picture when it isn't aligned perfectly with the mat. I didn't even have to tape the photos to the mat; the backing of the frame was thick enough and had a layer of padding so that all I had to do was set the pictures upside down on the mat, close the backing, and everything looked great. The only thing you have to provide are the 9 photos (unless you want to use the sample page of pictures) and one strand of picture hanging wire. There are not hangers in the center, only on three corners, allowing you to attach picture wire to hang it either vertically or horizontally.

A well made product. The product came packaged well protected inside a box with the frame in a bubble wrap sleeeve. The frame is attractive and look very nice mounted in my office with family photos. The wood frame appears well made and sturdy, and has glass as opposed to plastic or plexi-glass. It has a sturdy backing with three metal retainers on each side that rotate into a channel on the insde of the frame to hold the backing in place. The frame can be hung from a wall in either portrait or landscape direction from triangular shaped "eyelets" mounted near the corners of the backing. The mat is not frame shop quality, but it is not junk either. The mat is well cut but just thinner (about half as thick) as frame shop quality mat board. However considering the overall quality of the frame for the price, I feel a 5 star rating is appropriate (balancing cost vs. quality).

You get what you pay for with this frame
I am reviewing the 4x6 black picture frame specifically. This frame looks great from a distance, but closer up the cheap price is reflected in the build quality. Opening up the box from Amazon it was nicely packed with plastic air packets and the frame was wrapped inside of bubble wrap, which was quite nice to see. Upon examining the frame though it could be seen that the glass was not clean. In addition the pain and other materials of the frame seemed to have rubbed off and fallen on the white matte. This really stood out and the matte is hard to clean, because it has very thin lines running vertically through it that catch all sorts of particles that stand out on its white background. As for putting in a 4x6 photo, the matte opening is slightly smaller than this size. To secure a photo I saw no other option, but to use a small bit of tape to attach the photo to the matte on the back. The options for using the frame are hanging either horizontally or vertically, but it only has a desk stand for the vertical position, which is a bit of a disappointment.

Better than I had expected.
This frame is GREAT! You can use this for an 8x10 without the matte but the matte that surrounds your 5x7 photo is extremely professional looking. It's not just a flat piece of cardboard it has raised lines and is very elegant. One reviewer said the front piece was made of plexy glass but the one I received is totally glass. The only sort of cheap thing about this frame is the clasps they use to hold the back in. They don't really fit that snug but over all I was more impressed than I thought I would be. For the price you can't go wrong. I took one star off my rating for the clasps.

I received these on time. They are solid, and the colours match. I ordered 4 of these. One of the four is damaged (a discolouration on one of the sides). I chose not to return, as I am really trying to get the house staged for moving. Minus one star for the discoloured item. It didn't warrant, however, a return.

I like the look of the product quite a lot
I like the look of the product quite a lot, but find it misleading to call it a "wall frame." This is meant to be set on a desk or mantle. To hang it on a wall would require purchasing some wire to thread through the backing. There's no available facet conducive to hanging on a nail. It wouldn't be difficult to find the wire and create a loop, but if something's advertised as a wall frame I expected it to be wall-ready. The overall frame and mat are simple and stylish. I would buy this again along with some wire. Oh, and for the record, this is Courtney Dowell responding, Michael's wife.

Good quality frames for a fair price

glass was broken upon delivery
I was not happy with the product as the glass was broken when I opened the package. The item is very heavy, so I will pay for replacing the glass as the cost of returning this would probably be more than the cost of new glass. Also it is a Christmas present and I do not want to take a chance that I wouldn't get a new one before then.
