Once dusted, worked fine
This frame comes in a sort of shadow box, with no plastic over it, so it gets dusty. But the box was placed in a bubble wrap bag, and it wasn't damaged. It's a very stark, plain frame, which happens to work fine for my needs. There's no texture to the wood. It's just plain black, and the borders are fairly wide for something intended to hold 3.5 x 5" pictures. It's easy to open, secure when closed, but please note that the two openings are not separate compartments. It is possible that, over time, the upper photo will slide down.

Perfect for school photos
Got these to for the children's school photos (which aren't as common a size as you'd expect) and it was perfect. I got one for my mother-in-law and put the photos in and also got one for my office. I'd buy again for this purpose.

Item not as pictured
The photo of this item makes it look like the frame includes matting. It doesn’t. The opening for the photos is one large open, not two partitioned compartments as would be expected with a double frame. It is hard to keep your two photos from slipping into the adjoining frame space unless you use tape, that that is not great for your photos.

Does what it's supposed to do
We had ordered some school photos for our 2 elementary school-aged daughters, and got a few 3.5" x 5" prints (one child per print) that happened to come out really well. We wanted to send the photos to the grandparents and a few other relatives. We also wanted to spare the relatives the hassle of looking for frames (otherwise they might never get around to displaying the photos), and we wanted the photos to go together as a "set". We looked around the usual local chain stores for a dual frame that could hold both of these photos of this size side-by-side, and you'd be surprised how difficult it was to find this exact size and type of frame! It seems 4x6", 5x7", and 8x10" are much more popular and come in greater varieties. So, we searched on-line, and even then, there were slim pickings, but thankfully we found this frame, so we ordered a few and had them sent to us. The frames are clean, simple, solid, and do the job. The 2 side-by-side portrait photos of the kids look great, and the relatives love the photos and are displaying them in their homes. The frames are nothing fancy, but they are certainly accpetable, and considering how hard they were to find, I'm very happy with them.

Linear Double Frame....Almost Ok
I had looked a long time for a single frame that could hold two postcards side by side and finally ordered one here on Amazon.com. The frame turned out to be exactly what I needed and wanted, and that was great. However, the back of the frame was abit scratched on the back on one small area near one of the clips was mounted. The clips lock in the back of the frame into the glass front. I took care of the problem using a black Sharpie Pen to cover the scratches up. If this frame had been for someone other than me, I would have sent it back to Amazon and ask for an unblemished new frame. But there was no damage to the front of the frame , sides, or glass, I decided to simply fix it myself.unless you knew about the scratches, you wouldn't know they had been covered up by me. I have my framed postcards up on the wall now and the presentation looks quite smart. Only other grumble is that with shipping this small frame cost me around $19.50 with tax and shipping (standard shipping)..the frame is only around 5" x 7"(outside measurements of frame).

Good value
For the price, these are great. They don't have gaps in the corner or irregularity like many affordable frames. Looks much more expensive than it was up on the shelf
