Great balls, but NOT for the Jet pitching machine!
I bought these balls for my son for his Jet pitching machine. When I googled the Jet machine, it appeared that these balls would be compatible as I was not able to find any specifically made for his machine. They arrived quickly and are well made. The did fit into the machine and the machine did pitch them out. The problem is, they are too heavy for this machine and they only fly about 15-20 feet and drop pretty quickly so my son has to be pretty close the machine to be able to hit them. This is not necessarily a problem with the balls, except that they are not made for the machine I have. If you have another stronger machine, these would probably be fantastic for it! You get 12 balls for $20.00 which is a great deal compared to most others! Overall, I would recommend them to anyone who DOES NOT have a Jet pitching machine. If you are looking for balls for that, good luck! My own description of the rating system for items I review with Amazon’s Rating Criteria in Parentheses: • 1 star (I hate it!): I will either return this or throw it away, it has no value and I would discourage others from purchasing for any reason. • 2 star (I don’t like it): I did not like this and would not order again, but others may find value or there could be one or 2 good things about it. • 3 star (It’s ok): The item has some good and some bad qualities. I might keep using it, but would probably not purchase it again. It might work or be better for others, and may be worth purchasing in specific situations. • 4 star (I like it): Item is good quality, works well and is as described. May have 1 or 2 things I'm not a fan of, but not big issues. Would recommend it if someone asked me. • 5 star (I love it!): Practically perfect. Nothing is lacking in functionality or quality. I love this item and have most likely recommended it to family and friends. It is very high quality and I will most likely buy it again if needed.

Excellent machine pitch ball
We bought a First Pitch Baseline pitching machine and had read someplace that the pitching flight of regular baseballs, because of the seams, is not as true as with the dimpled practice balls. I bought a dozen of these MacGregor balls based on their lower cost and reviews that said they were not hard as bricks like other machine pitch balls. After trying the first dozen, I ordered a second dozen. They do fly much straighter than a laced baseball, and the consistency as to location is good. It's not perfect, but it would not be with any ball. I will say it is amazing how much straighter they fly (side to side)if you put the ball in the machine so the center seam on the ball is running parallel with the tire on the machine. That one step takes out almost all side to side variation between pitched balls. The balls are indeed not hard as a rock, and have a little give to them. That's good for our six year old players to hit. We've also used the balls pitching to our 11-12 year old team and they are fine for that purpose too. I haven't tried other balls, but would buy these again, because of the quality I've already experienced and because the price is right. Good product.

Accurate
I bought these to use with the new pitching machine they are accurate and allows more straight balls to hit. The more the kid can put the bat on the ball the better.

Best "Fetch" balls ever!
I don't speak for the baseball crowd, but instead for the big dog owners. I have a German Shepherd who is around 93 pounds and loves fetch more than anything else on the planet. I have bought him tons of different balls to play with. I have tried regular baseballs, tee balls, tennis balls, dog specific balls from PetsMart and he destroyed them all from chewing. So I saw these on Amazon and figured "why not". I must say they are the perfect product for him. They are heavy enough to be thrown relatively far and soft enough to not shatter glass if not thrown with tons of force. The best part? They are immune to his chewing and nearly indestructible (one got destroyed by a lawnmower). Bottom line, if you have dogs that are can fit a baseball in their mouth then buy this product. They are inexpensive and rugged and relatively cheap.

These are not your usual foam dimpled balls
i thought I was ordering plain foam dimpled balls. I was surprised today to see they have a hard plastic outer shell. I guess I didn't pay enough attention when I ordered. I'm skeptical that the shell will hold up. Looks like it would crack with hard hits. Has considerable bounce to them. Weight compares to regular baseball. Got them to use in a Louisville slugger pitching machine. They'll be slower than regular foam due to weight. Will be easy to find in the grass at least. I can tell they'll be more consistent in a machine than regular baseballs. Hopefully we'll like them fine. Will update review after we try them out.

These work great for our pitching machines
These work great for our pitching machines. They do not seem to show any wear. They are also safer for when the lawn mower hits them than a regular baseball, but they are shot once hit. Obviously, not something that should happen, but it is something that will happen from time to time. The kids say these sting a lot less than regular baseballs too when they don't hit it on the sweet spot. It allows our kids to continue batting longer. I've also used these with the Louisville UPM 45 pitching machine and it throws them very well. We've also used these in a powered pitching machine and you can get quite the curve on these.

Wrong color but great product
Seems like great product, only problem is it is yellow not orange! We wanted orange balls not to get them mixed up with standard yellow dimples.

Congruent to my dimpled softball review, I use and like these for rolling out soft tissue issues at my gym. This review pertains to this product in that context. I believe the softball (12 inch) has more applications because: 1. The size of the ball makes it hurt less. 2. The size of the ball makes it easier to attack areas such as the traps and scapulae, pecs, etc. 3. If you have extra body mass, the smaller ball sinks in more before doing its job These are though, more fun to throw around then the softballs.
