A great partner for an LED bulb
This is a high-quality, sturdy, good-looking outdoor light. But I have one bone to pick: It is "weatherproof" in the sense that it keeps water out. But not in the sense that the three bolts that hold it together withstand the weather over the years. In my experience, we have four or five of these along our long driveway, and after about 20 years (!) of light (sic) use, one bulb burned out. Neither Humpty Dumpty, nor all the rust solvents, pliers, cursewords, skills, two pair of hands, could get two of the three bolts to budge. So I had to replace the whole thing in order to "install" a new bulb. Not a big deal; it's not all that expensive, but if I were doing the whole thing again I would choose a cheaper version which, instead of bolts, has just some bend-able extensions that grab the light bulb to keep it on. In any case, if you use this one, don't neglect to put LED bulbs in them. This will postpone the need to unscrew those three bolts for, perhaps, one or two generations.

Excellent replacement
I had to replace one that had been run over. I was impressed when I opened the box. This is well made of metal, not plastic, has a bit of heft to it. Good quality lamp socket, too. It's refreshing to get and work with a good quality, American-made product. This will last decades. The only negative thing I can say is that the color was a bit too bright green. That will likely fade with time and I don't see it all the time anyway.

Well made lights that really light up a path
These sturdy well made lights are just the thing for bright path lighting. I read a couple of reviews that said these were difficult to take apart and reassemble for lamping but it's just 3 long screws and the 3 metal tiers stacked on each other. The first one i took the screws out and each tier apart separately then unscrewed the glass dome, put my regular medium base 60w equivalent led bulb in and reassembled in a minute or 2. The others I just undid the screws and lifted the whole tiered assembly off together and then dropped it back on after lamping. The tiers have detents and will stay together and then easily drop into their seat for quick reassembly. The length of wire coming out of the bottom was about 12 inches and I am experimenting with various lengths of 1/2" galvanized water pipe screwed into outdoor outlet boxes for a junction box. The ones in the photo are 6" from the box to the fixture and one is 8" to the junction box in the ground and the other is 6". 8" is about the longest pipe that could be screwed into the bottom of the fixture and have enough length for the junction but the bottom section could be whatever fits your situation and height preference. The paths are in the middle of being raised and relaid hence the experimental phase and the lights have not been done to electrical code as yet and probably won't be for a while if ever, but they will be perfectly safe since the I'm the only one who will ever be digging in the area and will know to not try to chop through a pipe a few inches underneath the soil. They are connected to a mechanical timer on a gfci circuit. The wire will be underground rated with waterproof connections in the junction boxes. In all, a fairly easy way to have really solid fixtures that should last many years and obviously provide plenty of light especially at just $23 per fixture or so. I originally ordered 4 but they are turning out so well I ordered 4 more. I also ordered a set of low voltage lights but may end up doing something else with them as the ones I've had in the past just don't have the same solid feel of the fixtures themselves, let alone the solid mount of the galvanized pipe. For brightness, overall cost,, quality, ultimate ease of use and longevity I don't think these can be topped.

Superbly built light fixtures
Finally found outdoor lighting that is made well. These are built like things we used to be able to buy 50 years ago. This is because they were made in New York....USA. If you go to their website, you will see that they also sell all of the parts for these lights separately. What a concept. I used them for outdoor landscape lighting even though they are normally used with 120 VAC. I just purchased the Opalray 2 watt 12v LED E26 base screw in bulbs for these fixtures here on Amazon. They look great and my wife can easily replace them also. I just added standard 24" PVC threaded sprinkler tubes and 3 feet of landscape lighting wire to the fixtures. Drill a 1/4" hole in the pipe about 10 inches from the ground to pull the wire through and stick them in the ground. Touch up the stick with little black spray paint and you're done. Update 5/6/2023 Lights still going strong after almost 3 years in the Orlando sun and hurricanes. I have had to do absolutely nothing to these lights. Bulbs all original also. That is what I tried to accomplish with several versions of the junk available at the big box stores. They were constantly failing and eventually fell apart. These made in New York lights are worth every dime.

Sturdy, well-constructed product.
I was replacing a nearly identical fixture. This new one appears to be better constructed than the old one although the differences are minor. The new one has a better gasket under the jar versus the disintegrating cork version in the old one.
