Feels very heavy duty but it’s not indestructible.
I’ll first start of by saying that the first grill I received arrived broken, I included a picture of the piece. The replacement arrived in perfect condition but that broken piece has me doubting the durability of that part, now I’ll have to be extra careful while transporting the grill or setting it down which is something I didn’t want to worry about with a heavy duty cast iron grill. I haven’t had any issues with the replacement so far. Cast iron itself is a very durable material if taken care of properly and it should last for many years. I’ve seen videos of old rusty cast iron pans being easily restored to pristine condition. The only parts of the grill that are not cast iron are the handle hooks and the two sets of nut and bolts, I believe those parts are made of steel. What I really liked about the grill is that it needs very little coal to work, I got a small bag of 8 pounds and it should last me about 5 or 6 uses depending on the amount of food I cook. The heat is very even throughout the entire grill unless you position the coal to have a cooler spot. The grill does sit up a bit high because of its feet but it can also be positioned upside down as it has an indentation on the grill body that keeps it from moving. Cooking is pretty easy on the grill if you season it properly, there are plenty of online videos showing how to do it. Seasoning it gives the grill a better nonstick surface to cook on plus it keeps it from rusting. Lighting the coal is also very easy if you stack them to one side then spread them, a chimney tool would be even better. Overall I really like the grill being cast iron means that it should last for many years if taken care of properly. I’m not sure I would consider it a camping grill because of its weight but it would definitely be a tailgate grill. I rated it four stars because of how the first one arrived, it’s one piece cast iron so it should be able to handle rough handling unless the design is not very sturdy on the leg parts, I’ll have to wait and see. I included several pictures including how it looked after using and how it looked after cleaning (the one with the handles inside).

Initial impressions
Most of my cast iron cookware are from Lodge. Their products are high quality and beautifully designed. This one is no exception. With that said, there are a few disappointments. 1. Actual cooking surface is 16.75 X 9 inches. 2. Fire grate is not removable/replaceable. 3. No fire door to add charcoal, if you need to add charcoal while cooking. 4. Ash tray is deep, but draft opening cutout made it shallow in the section. Taking out the ashes will be messy. 5. Ash tray handle is longer than necessary. 6. Cooking grate could have been more adjustable with a little thought put in. 7. Would have been super nice if this thing was big enough to use their griddle on it. When I saw 19.5 inch, I thought it would, but nope. Picture has the griddle on top. Pretty close and should be doable. Would return, but been waiting for Lodge to redesign this thing for 6 years. No product is perfect.

Improved and pretty good
This is a great grill for small group or a couple. It is of course very heavy as expected. This actually helps with it not sliding around though. I love cooking on it and have had great results. It is a bit difficult to clean though because of the grate shape.

It’s okay….
Well built and will last a long time. I own about 10-pieces of various Lodge cookware and will always cook and buy Lodge. My only con with this grill is the heat distribution. But with time and practice I think I will master the heat distribution on this grill.

A pleasure to cook on.
I love this grill. It doesn't do anything any other grill won't do, but for some reason I just enjoy using it. It's well made, it has a damper to control heat and the grill can be positioned at two different heights above the coals. It cleans like any cast iron cookware. One caveat however. Don't plan on taking this backpacking. It weighs 35 pounds. The good news about that though is you don't have to worry about the wind blowing it over.

A quality cast iron grill easy to assemble, already seasoned and ready to go.
It took 8 days to arrive from the US to the UK. The grill is superwell made ,consisting of 4 parts ,plus 2 handles. Two bolts hold the coal pan onto the base solidly with no wobble ( one review said it wobbled, either they screwed it on wrong/ put the washers in the wrong place or Lodge have fixed it ) The slide in ash pan & air vent does fit either way so make sure it is correct by checking vent is fully closed in the closed position. Other than that it is good to go. .It is a little pricey with import tax, but it is so well made that as long as it isn't allowed to rust out in the garden it will last a lifetime, and if you are going to use it a lot then you may as well buy something that is a pleasure to use

Cumplio todas mis espectativas
Excelente asador portátil, material de primera calidad, los acabados son muy limpios y bien pulidos, no es muy grande pero es lo suficiente para asar tres piezas grandes al mismo tiempo, lo que me gusta mucho es que no necesita mucho carbón o briquetas ya que por su material de hierro, guarda mucho calor rápidamente, me gusta mucho más que el anterior modelo, este diseño me parece mejor pensado, se los recomiendo ampliamente

YA TUVE OPORTUNIDAD DE USARLO UNA VEZ, Y ES PERFECTO EL COCIMIENTO, TAL COMO SE ESPERA EN UN ASADOR, ALCANZA UNA BUENA TEMPERATURA, EN MI CASO FUE UN CORTE TOMAHAWK, YO LO RECOMENDARIA PARA SOLO 2 PERSONAS, YA QUE REALMENTE ES PEQUEÑO, EL HIERRO FUNDIDO TIENE EL DETALLE QUE HAY QUE MANTENERLO CURADO EN ACEITE PARA QUE NO SE OXIDE, COMO TENGO YA OTROS PRODUCTOS SIMILIARES NO TENGO PROBLEMA CON SU MANTENIMIENTO.
