Works great in a basement window well

I have a different use for this. I have a basement window well that fills up with water occasionally (hurricanes or bad storms) and can cause water in my furnished basement. Installing a drain would be the best choice but that would mean digging up a lot of landscaping. I placed this pump in the window well and it sits on two bricks. I leave it plugged in all the time so if there's a bad storm, it empties the well before anything seeps into the window and into the furnished basement. Works perfectly. Only issue is if I lose power, but even then it will run off a 2000 watt invertor generator. I've also used to lower the water in my pool when I open it in the spring, as it is submersible. Only drawback there is the hose is small so it takes longer.

My last one lasted over 10 years! I had to get another one

If you've got a pool cover to keep dry this is the way to go. I had my previous one for over 10 years and it has gone through hell being out in the weather. Yes there are cheaper options but let me tell you - my friends ended up kicking themselves because the less expensive options either didn't have automatic on/off capabilities, didn't have the length in the cord to support reaching to the middle of the pool and just overall quality. You get what you pay for.

This is an amazing pool cover pump. No issues with the product but beware your installation!

Let me start by saying this pump is amazing in what it does and it really made a difference for keeping the rain/snow melt off the cover of my pool. It's got quality construction, and the unit does not clog with leaves or other debris and would absolutely recommend it to someone. I did learn a harsh lesson however with my install plan. If the pool cover it's sitting on collapses into the pool and this pump goes to the bottom of your pool. It will empty the entire pool happily overnight without you knowing about it. This recently happened to me when a buildup of weight from a storm caused this exact thing to happen. So either ensure the unit cannot fall into the pool, or maybe don't put it on an outlet with full time power so you can inspect it before you allow it to run.

Works like it should

This pool cover pump works good in summer and winter. Just keep in mind that if really cold outside unplug the unit until it warms up a bit.

Pool pump

Nice and heavy duty. Have not had any problems since buying. I've been thru alot of pumps that have broke easily so I can say definitely give it a shot.

Excellent pool cover pump

Does a great job. Moves a lot of water efficiently. If you have a large number of fallen leaves build a circular dam around it to prevent blockage.

Replaced my old one

It doesn’t completely suck up all the water theres always still a little puddle and these get clogged very easily and the weight is kind of heavy to add to the already heavy rainwater on the pool cover
