Excellent with some refinements
I like them but with several warnings. First the people who say they are nicely sanded do not know what they are saying. These are sanded by a seven year old and I might be unkind to the conscientious seven year old. The sanding is mostly smooth but very uneven. I got out the 80 and 120 grit paper and smoothed the contour to my satisfaction. The fist few times through the washer and you need to sand again. Some will gasp in horror that I machine wash these but in my house we do not hand wash and not wooden utensils, either. What you do is to paraffin wax the wooden utensils to keep them sealed and to prevent bacteria from getting into the wood. I noticed the lacquer another reviewer commented about, but it quickly was removed after the dishwasher and sanding. So no trouble about eating lacquer or varnish from the utensils. Lacquer or varnish is not natural and it is not healthy to eat it. This is what I do to treat the wood. Rub the wax block all over the wood and then bake them on the lowest setting possible or use a hair dryer. Once they are hot and the was melts reapply more wax and bake again for afew minutes. Don't worry about alittle extra wax as it is not toxic and some vegetables and fruits have wax naturally. The machine heat of washing and drying will eventually remove the wax, but just reapply. Overall I recommend these bamboo utensils after alittle improvement.

Quality declined from first time purchase years ago
Bought a new set after 8-10 years coz I lost some of the pcs; quality went down this time. Not as polished as before, and many slivers stick out during washing! Almost poked my hands many times,… not buying again

Not Great
A couple of the items had warped pretty significantly so if you plan on using these in the kitchen you might want to purchase something else. I used them as "Trophies" for an event at work so they worked ok for that.

This Is A Great Set To Cook With & No Lacquer On Them, NONE
I really enjoy cooking with bamboo utensils. For years I've used wooden ones but prefer the earth friendliness of the bamboo. I find myself reaching for the bamboo more than the silicone or the metal ones for just about everything but flipping pancakes and eggs over easy. They are wonderful to cook with and lighter than wood. For the price you can't do better. Wouldn't make oatmeal or scrambled eggs without them. The bamboo is kind to stainless steel and non-stick cookware. A few reviews mention that this set is coated in lacquer. I have no idea what they are talking about because there is nothing on my tools that I see except bamboo. Of course you are going to see natural formations in the bamboo because it is part of the bamboo makeup. Like the wood grain in wood? Manufacturers want to churn their products out fast and as low cost as possible for maximum profit. They are not going to spend money on lacquer and take time to apply it only to poison everyone who buys their product. I love my set and plan to be using these for a good long time!

Great Sustainable Product
I am not a fan of the rubber or silicone cooking tools you find most anywhere, and plastic should never be an option. So when I am cooking with non stick pans or even cast iron, I prefer a good wood utensil. This set covers all the basis for your common cooking needs. The handles are sturdy and wide enough where I dont feel I would break them. The bamboo is nice and lite and can be used in high heat recipes without any issues. One thing to take note of is if you are wanting to flip things like burgers or pankakes you are still going to want to have a good stainless spatutla around as the bamboo ones are a higher profile, That is not to say you can't use one for flipping , it just is not the best tool. This set is strait forward in the uses and should be paired with a nice bamboo crate holder or some hangers. Hand wash is best and avoid soaking or dishwashing. I would recommend washing thoroughly before your first use to remove and colored moisture still on them. All in all they are a great value and in using them over a more synthetic tool that will not last as long they are an eco friendly option.

Great product! Showed up a little splintered
Great product! Showed up a little splintered, which most bamboo utensils do that are factory made. To make sure I wasn't eating some Bamboo with my meals I sanded each utensil with 220 & 400 grit sandpaper and they came out wonderfully soft and smooth. I did purchase "Butchers Block Oil" from a hardware store to condition them as well, but you could easily use food-grade mineral oil. Great product, would buy again!

5 are good, 1 broke during first use
These have worked well so far but the last one, the one that looks like a fork, one of the middle tines broke off in the food the first time I used it, and I had to get the whole family to watch for the piece so they didn't accidently eat it. Made noodles and sauce so I needed to do a little scraping on the pot during the final stages to make sure the noodles weren't sticking to the pan. Pulled out the spoon/fork and the tine was broken off.

Do not buy. Not worth the price in any way.
Very cheap and badly made. I don't know if I got the bad batch of tools that weren't supposed to make it to the shelves, but what I received was a total mess. Most of these have stains of polishing finish all over the place in form of spots or lines that won't wash out no matter what, have a clear and strong smell of polishing and have imperfections all over the place as well as little pieces of the bamboo material chipping off. I've tried cooking once with the big spoon just in case is was my imagination nit picking and my food smelled a strong polishing product to the point where I didn't event dared try eating what I made. Note that every one of these complains were there from the start, before I start using any of it. A wooden spoon at the $1 store has more value than these.

Nice but rough
My Daughter says she got them but they feel rough and she will sand them down before she uses them.
