Very nice and solid cheeseboard

I grew up in Pennsylvania, so Lenox brand was one that I was very familiar with growing up. I remember my grandma having a Lenox Serving tray. Now I do know that Lenox now makes some of there items in China. Unfortunately I could not find any information about where this was made at. Maybe I missed it but I looked and looked and wasn’t able to find it. But even if it was, this is still a very nice and well built cheeseboard. The metal is solid, not super heavy, but definitely has some weight to it. It looks beautiful in person as well. Now to be honest I do think they sort of dropped the ball so to speak with the wood round insert. It’s literally just a piece of wood. Nothing nice or special about it. And it slides around in the center since it’s not an exact fit. I mean if your going to make a premium product and place a premium price value on that then the whole thing needs to be quality. Not just most of it. But even with that, it’s still lovely and should last years and years. The only thing I worry about with the longevity of it is that the wood will eventually warp or splinter or something along those lines. But I guess it wouldn’t be to hard to find just a piece of wood as a replacement for it since as I said there’s nothing special about it.

Holiday cheeseboard

The Lenox Holiday Metal & Wood Cheeseboard matches the motif of the Lenox Red & Green Christmas plates, although it does not have those colors on it. This cheeseboard is two pieces. The outer ring is a metal that is not identified on the product page or box, but seems to be some kind of aluminum alloy. It can hold crackers and such. Since it can only be handwashed, I wouldn't serve anything that could get into the nooks and crannies on it. The inner piece is a small piece of wood, stained but unfinished. Personally, I like a smoother piece of wood for serving cheese. It is not very large at all, despite the overall size of the piece. This piece can also only be handwashed. It should also be regularly treated with oil to keep it from cracking. I think this piece is lovely from a distance, but up close it is pretty obvious that it is two pieces. There is a decent clearance to ensure the inner piece doesn't get stuck. I think an oval shape might have been better, to provide more surface area for cheese and jams. This cheeseboard is more for looks than function.

Great for a small get together

The Lenox Holiday Metal & Wood Cheeseboard, 3.95 LB, Red & Green has no red or green on it. The center is wood an the outer circle is silver. It is listed as red and green because it coordinates with that pattern of dishes. This is a nice size serving piece for cold dishes. I used it for cheese and crackers. I placed cheese in the middle and crackers all around. It is a good size and will fit on a small table nicely or its easy to add to a a crowded buffet. The center pops off for easy cleaning or to be used alone. This piece is very versatile but the outer ring decoration forces it to be a holiday/ winter platter only. Nice piece but honestly may be a bit overpriced, even with the Lenox name behind it.

Vintage looking cheese tray

This is a round wooden cutting board that’s inserted in metal tray. You can easily remove the cutting board for cleaning without having to take everything for wash. Cutting area is rather small and I am thinking the surrounding plate area must be designated for displaying the cheese because otherwise it’s too small. Anyways, that’s how I am using it. Keep the knife and cheese on the board and pieces of cheese around in the tray. Details on the plate are wonderfully executed, engraving is perfect. I love Lennox but I am just not as impressed as I am with some of their other pieces. I would say this is a vintage look.

Beautiful Platter

Lenox is a favorite housewares brand for me. I can always count on the quality craftsmanship and the oohs and aahs I'll hear when I set the table with their pieces. This platter is a worthy addition to their product offerings. It a metal and wood cheese platter. The wood is perfect because it keeps the cheese at a consistent temperature and won't affect the flavor. The metal part has engravings of holly that are raised to the touch. Overall, this is a beautiful platter. I highly recommend this item. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this review.
