My kid really enjoys this set. His only complaint is there are only enough pieces to build one creation at a time from the book- so he asked me to buy a second set.. maybe that is the whole plan haha (jk) It's a great gift for people that enjoy legos and tinkering.

I got this for my son and he absolutely loves it. He built all the gadgets in one night. Very easy to do but fun to read about them and make different things. I will be buying these for future gifts.

Needs more Legos

These sets are pretty cool, because they have the book that is more reusable, but the book is more durable than the cardboard parts, so that doesn't make sense because eventually we will have just the books with all the cardboard pieces having been lost, and I wonder how much they may or may not still serve a purpose for my son's little inventions. I got this to help him make inventions that have real mechanical parts. He is six and he can follow most of the instructions involving the bricks, just not the more fragile cardboard pieces that are more confusing. I am glad these sets exist, but I think the Legos should combine the parts from all three sets with a big book for top dollar, then publish a totally seperate book that contains just the cardboard punch outs, and do some little version for kid's meals where they try to do cardboard goods but they are never designed for a broad enough range of ages.

it was a hit

well, it was a hit after he played with it. It wasn't a high level Lego set, so when our 7 year old grandson saw this his face fell a bit. Later in the day, he put together his first project with grandpa's help. He was totally thrilled and showed off his robot with bendy arms to everyone with a big smile on his face. The heavy paper extras are a nice touch. These projects are at the upper end of his skill level so the book is challenging just enough. As he works through these he's going to learn a lot.

My grandson loved this!

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my grandson who is nine years old. It actually was one of the first toys he play with on Christmas, they go together, fairly easily, less frustrating then some of the more complex Lego sets he has. He had fun playing with them as they all did something different. It was a huge hit! Surprisingly low price point for Legos.

Very fun book and kit

I thought my Lego-loving son would not find this as interesting as the usual kits with step by step instructions for one structure. On the contrary, he really enjoyed making the different gadgets. You only can make one at a time, unless you can dig in your lego bin to come up with some substitutes. He already made the catapult and then the boxing robot. Very pleased with this gift purchase.
