Students love them
I use these for jeopardy review games in my 15:1 PC classes. The kids love them. The lights help me see who answers first because sometimes two students with the same color buzzers will answer at the same time and because they make the same noise, the light is how I can tell who answered first. I wish each buzzer made its own unique sound, but my classes are small so it's worked out.

Great for classroom jeopardy!
I ordered these to do classroom jeopardy for a review of spreadsheet vocabulary. Worked great and kids had fun!

Misleading Description
In the description is the following: “ Each team's buzzers make unique sounds” which is not entirely true. I was under the impression that each BUZZER made a unique sound, but ALL the blue buzzers make the same sound and ALL the red buzzers make the same sound. This is not at all helpful in a classroom where there are multiple teams. By this logic, one can only have one red team and one blue team. I wasted my money on this when there are cheaper versions that do better than make two sounds. Don’t waste your money on this one like I did!

Met Expectations
The media could not be loaded. I like the volume and easy of installing the AAA batteries.

Simple, useful, practical, versatile, effective.
Learning Resources is an established company dedicated to making useful learning products and for both the home and classroom. Their products are thoughtfully designed and made with safety and quality in mind. I was surprised to see a set of buzzers as part of their repertoire, but here they are. Focusing on social skills, the target is to build teamwork, comradery, and sportsmanship in a civil environment with exposure to friendly competition. The buzzers come in a pack of 8 and are completely made of plastic. They measure 3.5" in diameter and come in two colors. Each buzzer requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), so be prepared for some additional costs to get use of these things. The buzzers have 4 small grip pads to help keep it stead on whatever surface they're sitting on. The buzzers produce both light and sound when activated thus being good even for those that may be audially and visually impaired. The volume is loud enough in a quiet to average environment, but is not adjustable. There is also no option to prevent the lights from flashing when activated. These buzzers also don't come with a storage case or bag, but the original box is a good fit even thought it may be a bit bulkier. The red buzzers play a laser sound when activated and the tune lasts for about 2 seconds. The blue buzzers play the fanfare tune and last the same... CHARGE! There isn't much more to say about these from a product perspective. Overall, they're pretty well made as far as plastic buzzers go and are more useful than you think. I've only used them once, but they were able to take on a bit of a beating in getting slapped during game of Jeopardy. Learning resources were part of my family when the kids were younger, from flashcards, to magnetic map puzzles, to realistic looking play money and a cash register, their products continue to support you along the development path called life skills. Pros: Two sets of 4 buzzers is enough to support team games. Buzzers are of a good size, not to big so as not to be portable; not so small that it's difficult to activate. Buzzers produce both lights and sounds when activated. No sharp edges or corners for safe play. Durable enough to take a light beating. Simple, useful, practical, versatile, effective. Cons: Requires AAA (x2) batteries each (not included). No volume control. No light control. No carrying case/storage pouch.

Great for Game Shows at Home
We actually do a game show in our living room at an annual party, so I immediately ordered these buzzers when I saw them. What you get is a set of 8 buzzers made of durable plastic. Half of them have red buttons, the other half blue. When you press on them (more like bang on them!), they light up and play a sound for about 2 seconds. The red buttons play a sci-fi sound and the blue ones play a musical "charge" horn blast, perfect for audibly knowing who buzzed first. The volume is decent (they could be louder in my opinion, but they are certainly loud enough for the living room). Each buzzer takes 2 AAA batterys, which are not included, so you'll need to buy a large package of batteries. The reason I took off a star is because, to open the battery compartment, you have to unscrew a tiny screw, which is both unnecessary and annoying--especially considering there's no on/off switch, so you should really remove the batteries every time you store them. Finally, in my opinion, it's a bit on the pricey side, but when I compared it to the few other brands available on Amazon, it turns out that they are comparatively reasonably priced.

Perfect for games or competitions
I got these to use in 'game show' tests at school and they worked quite well. They're bright and loud enough that we could register them anywhere in the room. So far the battery in each has held up well as have the buzzers themselves, despite some eager slapping. The only possible downside to these is that there are only two types... red and blue. Each color has a distinctive sound. The limited color choice means that we can use them for teams but not for more than two individuals. This may or may not be a consideration, but it's worth noting. Quite happy with these and they make the tests a lot more fun.

Not recordable
I thought you could choose the sound but you can’t.

Brilliant for schools or large group activities
The media could not be loaded. These are so great, they have so many uses in schools and they'd be brilliant for any big group activity too. There are 4 of each colour of buzzer, the red ones make an old school video game shooting/zapping sound and the blue ones make a sound like the horn tune before the charge of an army. They're super easy to press, both my 2 and 4 year old managed it and they're pretty responsive to being pressed though they seem sturdy enough to withstand kids bashing them to press them. There are so many things you could use these for, not just the obvious things like quizzes. They're great for any kind of competition or race or challenge in PE where you can get the kids to press a buzzer when they get to the end or even to say they've finished a particular task or activity. They would even be great for playing games at home, though you probably wouldn't need all 8 unless it was a party or larger gathering. I'm tempted to get another set for the house for Christmas games! These buzzers are going to be so well used in school, the kids absolutely love them and they definitely add an element of excitement to any activity. Each buzzer needs 2 AAA batteries to work and batteries aren't included, so worth bearing in mind if you're intending to use them straight away.

Great for family games night
The media could not be loaded. 8 team buzzers, 4 blue and 4 red, both with lights and different sounds for the blue and red when the button is pressed. Each button runs on 2 AAA batteries, so if you want to use all of the buttons, you will need 16 batteries, and none are included with the box of buzzers. The battery compartment is located under each button, and is retained by a tiny cross point screwdriver. There is no on/off switch, so you will need to take the battles out to store them. The buzzers are suitable for numerous types of team games, where you need someone to shout out the answer, or put your hand up. You can now press the button before answering, and everyone will be able to hear who presses first. The buttons are large enough to fit in the palm of your hands, and are robustly made. The base of each button has rubber feet, so you don’t scratch your surfaces with the buzzers. These buzzers are going to be a great help at Christmas, in fact any games night, no more arguing about who put their hands up first, I would invest in some rechargeable batteries though.

Loud, bright, sturdy & fun.
These team buzzers arrive in a full colour cardboard box measuring approx 18.5cm x 18.5cm x 9.5cm. Inside you get the 8 buzzers which are approx 9cm diameter at the base & a little less on the buzzer part. They are about 4cm high. The four blue buzzers light up & make a loud trumpeting Charge sound (not words just a fanfare) when pressed. The four red buzzers light up & make a loud laser shooting sound when pressed. Every child who has seen them so far has found they couldn't resist pushing the big buttons - they are a nice size for toddler hands as well as being easy for adults to use, so these could be used in pretty much any setting - pre-school, a centre for older people, general quizzes anywhere. The downside of these is that there are only 2 sounds & 4 of each buzzer making that sound, so although they work well enough if you have just 2 teams of 4 (with each member having a buzzer), if you want 4 teams then you need to try & have the ones with the same buzzers on opposite sides of the room to help you distinguish which team set off their buzzer first sometimes. Learning Resources do make other similar products which have different sounding buzzers (about the same size, in a variety of colours, so if you are adding to your collection, or you work with small groups who you're trying to get into teams but who don't necessarily ''share' that well these could be an excellent addition to your resources. We've been bashing away on these buttons for a couple of days now (the laser seems to be the favourite by a mile) & the batteries show no sign of running out. They are reasonably sturdy too so should be up to being used by more enthusiastic groups of kids. You need a small phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartments & each buzzer needs 2 x AAA batteries so to put batteries in the whole set you are going to need 16 AAA batteries. There are no on/off switches on these or volume controls so once you've put the batteries in they will make a noise whenever pressed until the batteries are removed or run out. The speaker is on the underside of these & when on a flat hard surface such as a table they are really loud. If you put them on cloth/carpet they are a bit quieter.
