Almost, but not good enough!
This was an exact match for my Kohler, Memoirs flapper valve. The existing flapper had a very slow, but annoying leak, that would cycle the fill every 45 minutes. Removed the old and replaced it with the new one. It initially was O.K. but I soon discovered that the point where it attaches and swivels was a tiny bit too large and gradually worked loose Finally resolved the problem by removing the new rubber washer and putting on the old hard plastic flapper. Not what I paid for, and not what I expected. Don't get rid of your old flapper. save it in case you have the same problem.

Problems with closing until the tank fully emptied, ball chain was 2" too short.
This product was an exact replacment for my 25 year old original Kohler toilet flapper, right down the part numbers and the color. After installation, I began to have an issue with the flapper not closing consistently. Every 2nd or 3rd flush, it would hang up, completely empty the tank of water, drop into place when the tank emptied and then take a long time to refill wasting a lot of water. I moved the chain float as far down as possible which according to the directions is supposed to shorten the flush cycle. The flapper still hung up every 3rd flush or so emptying the toilet tank. I removed the blue chain float entirely and the problem persisted. I looked online for help and came up with zip. It occurred to me that a little bit of weight around the ball chain where it attaches to the flapper might solve the problem. I started with a 1/4 ounce fishing sinker - WAY too much weight, it slammed shut far too fast. I thought about car wheel weights, motorcycle spoke weights and eventually stainless nuts and then wound up using a simple stainless washer around the flapper pull chain. As I mentioed above, after a LOT of trial and error, I found that a single 1/4" stainless steel flat washer that weighed one gram (I weighed it with a postal scale) was ideal for giving me the perfect flush timing and cycle every time. All I can deduce from this is that the gasket material on the new flapper is more buoyant than the old one. If there are any plumbers out there with experience with this problem, I would sure appreciate your take and yes, I'll call you for my next problem. A toilet flapper changeover should be simple and brainless. It's not always that way. Pro - Looks exactly like my 25 year old OEM flapper, same part number, name and configuration. It should have worked perfect out of the package but it didn't. I purposely went out of my way to get the exact replacement Con - The ball chain was too short for my application by 2 inches, I used the original ball chain connector. The new one supplied with the float is sort of crummy compared to the original in my toilet The flushing problem I mentioned above I was hopeful that by searching for and using the exact replacment parts, this flapper would just work like the original part. It didn't. I know why plumbers make the $$ they do because this sort of stupid, unpredictable stuff every day would make me nuts. Nothing but adimiration and praise for plumbers from me - you guys earn your dough and for my latest plumbing issue, a kitchen plumbing leak in the ceiling, I'm calling a pro.

It's universal
After purchasing this item I saw one that was manufactured by Kohler. Thinking it would be a better figuring better product since that's the brand of my toilet I bought that one also. The kohler brand was a pain and wouldn't fit properly. I threw it out and installed this one in 2 seconds. Hands down this was easy and is working great.

coast foundry toilet flapper 400
This item is not a replacement for coast foundry toilet flapper 400. It does not work but I re-used a blue washer that came with this item by inserting this blue washer into original coast foundry toilet flapper 400. I just removed the old washer and put a new one. So far it works though I don't know for how long it will.

different design
size wise this flapper is the same as the one i was replacing. However, they changed the design. They now have a 2 washer setup that makes no sense to me. It leaked right out of the box. I took the main flapper washer and put it on the old one and viola! I would have just bought the washer separately, but I could not find it. Since then I have. Too late. Shoulda stuck with original design.

Certainly Not a Certain Seal 400
I was looking for a replacement flapper for the Coast "Certain Seal" part number 400 as pictured. I figured that the old one lasted about 20 years so why change? First, what I received was not a Certain Seal, rather a knock off called Code Seal. Secondly, it clipped to the tank tube with barely any pressure and, after the very first test flush, one of the hooks lifted straight off of the tab. Thirdly, even though the old gasket was severely corroded from a few decades of chlorine and looked like it had been sitting in acid, the new flapper leaked much worse than the old one. Upon inspecting the new flapper, I could see what appeared to be a black o-ring between the white, hard plastic frame and the blue gasket. With nothing to lose, I easily removed the blue gasket and found the black o-ring completely loose, lopsided, and unattached to anything. No wonder it leaked. The o-ring appeared to be a bit too big to squeeze into what looked to be a raised groove so I peeled the old gasket off of the original Certain Seal frame, cleaned out the horizontal groove with a business card, and inserted the new blue gasket into the old frame. Very tight fit -- as you would expect -- but now the old flapper works perfectly with this new gasket. I'm only giving it a second star because the new gasket fits the old frame.

LASCO Hard Plastic Flapper works perfectly to stop losing water in the tank.
Thanks to Amazon for carrying these. It immediately stopped the slow leak from the tank into the bowl. My local store went out of business and the big box stores like Home Depot don't carry them. This is an exact replacement for the Kohler units that came with the toilets.

poor fit
The product was as cheaply made as the original. No complaints there. However, it seems this manufacturer uses a very poor sealing gasket. Mine didn't seal well at all. This was a complaint by several other buyers. Took a chance, lost several dollars. Went to the local hardware store, bought a rubber replacement, works fine...That'll learn me.
