Excellent product that saves time and effort!

While this product is meant to be used for mortar and thin-set, I purchased it to use on wood. To say I was impressed was an understatement! This blade made short work of leveling high spots on my sub-floors prior to installing hardwood. It worked almost as well as my belt sander with a 60 grit belt. The best this was that it could get right up to the walls and under the drywall, base trim and door jams. I also used it for a very small amount of thin set and it made short work of that as well. The one thing you do need to watch out for is that you don't use it on non-mortar based adhesive as it will clog up the blade. Also, this thing cuts through the wood so fat, you need to make sure you wear a dust mask and have a shop vac handy. I used this product in a corded DeWalt oscillating tool but it should fit many others, just check for compatibility first.

It has come in handy more times than I could count, has already saved me well over the 20 dollars I paid for it. Will be buying more in the future.

from the picture on amazon one could somewhat see it was not a solid abrasive facing but had some bare metal so I figured there would be some, but when I opened the packing there was hardly any abrasive at all, just a few sprinklings in the middle of each of the triangle sides about 1/4" wide but not even consistent there. I would say you MAYBE had 8 % abrasive the rest plain metal Absolutely useless and Dewalt should be ashamed and embarrassed of charging $17 for an obviously inferior product

Not As Advertised

In the Photo of this DEWALT Dwa4221 Oscillating Carbide Rasp, the carbide grinding texture covers the whole surface of the rasp bottom, but when we ordered it we found (as shown in my photo) that much of the surface of the bottom of the rasp was just smooth metal with no texture. If you compare my photo with the one from the item's Amazon page, they are clearly different. We were sure to order directly from Amazon and they sent us a replacement exchange but it was also the same as the first one we received, so we returned it, as we were planning to use it somewhat like a sander and needed a reasonable size grinding surface (as was depicted in Amazon's photo of the product).

It did and worked great for the small project I was doing

I bought the Porter Cable Oscillating tool at Lowes along with a carbide rasp accessory for removing thinset. The accessory didn't fit the tool and Lowes suggested I call the Porter Cable Customer Service. Porter Cable Customer Service said the rasp they made for this tool has been discontinued. I went on line at Amazon and read where the Dewalt rasp will fit the Porter Cable Oscillator. It did and worked great for the small project I was doing.

This is a very agressive rasp

This is a very aggressive rasp which is good if you want to remove material fast. The rough part of the rasp is only around the outside but this is OK because the middle of the rasp attachment doesn't really move much anyways. If you are sanding something that is not flat the corner can slip into the hollow center. If it was made with a flat surface the whole way across it would make it easier for working on surfaces that are not flat.

No sirve para Starlock

La superficie cubierta con carburo es mucho menor que la mostrada en la imagen. NO es compatible con Starlock de bosch. Tendré que comprar un adaptador
