Love this carrier!

It’s the perfect size, easily to travel with (carrying and under the airline seat) and has a super sturdy bottom made of rubber. Kurgo makes the best products for our pets… I’ve been using their crash tested hardnesses for 8 years. Only wish… there’s was another pocket on the other side. Thanks Kurgo! ❤️

Best carrier ever - sturdy, comfortable, safe, and folds flat for easy storage! A+ design!

One of my favorite purchases on Amazon. I stuff my 11lb cat in here when we go to the vet and she has enough room to stand up if she wants, or to lay down. This thing has three possible ways to place your animal inside - both ends open up via zipper, and also the top opens up. If you have a cat, leaving the top open on this has a similar effect on the cat as a box might: they're curious and want to explore the dark new hole thing and jump right in - then you can sneak in and zip the top real quick and they don't even know what happened. The bottom is sturdy and padded, and soft so the pet is comfortable - cats can grip better in this because it's fabric and not plastic. Liner doesn't move around, it's velcroed in. Retains its shape so it won't collapse while the animal is inside. You can buckle it into your car via seat belt through the specially designed loops so your pet is secure and won't slide around the back of your car - I love that feature. You can tote this around like a duffel bag - over the shoulder or holding on to it via the hand straps. Lots of mesh so the animal can see its surroundings, and you can see the pet to make sure it's OK. My cat tends to freak out, so I liked that I could open up a zipper a teenie bit to stick my hand in there to pet her. Also enough for her to poke her head out and look around without actually allowing her to escape, which somehow made her feel better? The mesh windows stood up to her trying to escape with her claws, so I would say it's pretty well designed with that, and overall. Not sure how well it would do with a chewer, but it seems like it might hold up to moderate abuse. Lots of compliments from the vet's office about it. Best part: it folds flat when you're done with it and take the liner out, so you can shove it in the corner of a closet when you're not using it, or under the bed, or wherever you can fit a relatively flat object. It's much better than having a gigantic plastic carrier to try to find a place for in your house, which was a major concern when looking for something to tote the cat around in. Definitely worth the cost, and good peace of mind knowing if we have to run somewhere with the cat (god forbid) we know she will be safe in this.

Don’t make the same mistake...

I bought this twice! Ouch! And wish I had heeded the reviews that warned about design flaws. The first one I bought I had less than two weeks before my 6month old puppy chewed through the zipper in the ceiling... I contacted Kurgo and was told they would replace it...but not for free...doesn’t inspire confidence in the durability of their product. I needed a replacement for an approaching trip sooner than I believed they could help. So I bought another one online, thinking $55 isn’t a bank breaker. However! This one lasted only about 1 month. After the first plane trip the metal wire that is sewn into the top of the carrier (giving it structure) pierced through the carrier, ripping it. On later uses it popped out often and could catch a dog in the eye. Not to mention that the lid simply won’t stay zipped together. Any small dog or cat head can easily pop between the two zippers allowing the pet to escape the bag. It does not matter that there’s a short tether you can clip to your pet’s collar. My 11-lb dog frequently jumps out and drags the carrier along behind her! Finally, the carrier is a tight fit under an airline seat. And the metal in the lid doesn’t like compression. I wanted to support a company from my local community but found even the local pet stores aren’t keen to carry this brand - despite headquarters being a stones throw away. For $115 I could’ve bought a better carrier. Don’t waste your dollars here. Start with a good carrier from the get-go if you will travel with your pet in the car and plane.

Pricey, but a great carrier that fit my 2 cats!! **UPDATED**

I had a hard time finding a soft-sided carrier that would fit under the airline seat on a US Airways flight from NC to WA that would fit BOTH of my cats in the same carrier. I stumbled across this one here on Amazon and thought the trapezoid-like shape was a brilliant idea utilizing the most interior space possible. I hesitated purchasing it because it was about twice the cost of others, but if I had to buy 2 separate ones anyways I was at the same price as this one and knew my cats would be happier together so I bit the bullet and ordered it. I am so glad that I did too because it worked perfect!! Both of my cats were comfortable inside (one weighs 10.5 lbs and the other 10). It strapped on my shoulder nicely when carrying them around the airport and has lots of mesh for air-flow. The zip-up door on the sides have a metal perimeter to keep it's shape and keep it from collapsing on your pet (something the cheaper carriers didn't have). It is a very neutral & attractive color scheme of tan & orange that isn't too gaudy and doesn't scream "I HAVE A PET IN MY BAG!!". The orange pad that goes inside is removable and has a board in it to keep it's shape and give the interior a nice flat bottom. It doesn't appear to be washable, so I put those disposable training pads inside in case there was a kitty accident while on board our almost 6 hour flight. Overall, I am very impressed with carrier. It's dimensions are an inch or 2 larger than US Airways allowed for under-seat animal soft-sided carriers, but it fit perfectly! ***UPDATED*** (5/6/2014) Wow...the price has dropped dramatically! I paid around eighty for this back in Jan 2010, and currently it is listed for forty...so worth it! I have used the bag numerous times for my 2 cats since purchasing it as well as for my 17lb dog and it still looks brand new! A lot of the airlines have reduced the height allowed for pet carriers...I wouldn't think twice about using this bag again, if needed, despite being a few inches too high because you could squish the top a bit (into a triangular shape) making it not so high but also not taking any laying down room away from your pet.

Gute Reisetasche für Mini-Hunde

Positiv: wasserdichte Unterseite, geringes Gewicht, Schultergurt lang genug zum diagonal-tragen, Verarbeitung erscheint wertig. Leider fällt das „Dach“ nach unten, wenn man es einklappt, da es relativ schwer ist. Damit fällt es dem Hund nicht leicht, selbständig von außen in die Tasche einzusteigen. Größer als ein normal großer Chihuahua sollte der Hund nicht sein, da es dann in der Tasche recht eng wird. Insgesamt jedoch für meinen Hund passend, für das geplante Reiseziel als Körbchen absolut ideal. Daher von mir eine Empfehlung. Update: Nach mehreren Reisen und im Dauergebrauch daheim immer noch absolut in Ordnung. Die abwaschbare Unterseite der Tasche hat sich schon auf der Fähre im Regen bewährt…
