Excellent purchase. Fast service and delivery. Exactly as described.
This "open box" item was in near perfect condition...at about 1/10 the cost of new retail. My questions were answered almost immediately and pictures provided. Will post pictures after it has been installed in new tub, in new house. Excellent all around.

Nice Chrome Parts, but very fussy install
Normally I have no problems installing Kohler components, but this one was not enjoyable. For one thing, the instuctions want you to push and twist parts together, but leave you a bit unsure whether you are doing it correctly - or are just about to break the plastic parts that you are trying to mate together (and having to rip open the wall to repair if you do). After carefully triple checking everything, I gave it a try, and it DID go together. But the next step has you adjusting the knob depth, and the kit does NOT include the tiny tiny allen wrench needed. I thought that I had every size I'd ever need (I'm a contractor), but I didn't have this one. And lastly, there is another plastic pie-shaped piece in the kit that is not referenced at all in the instructions, and there is no obvious place to use it. But the drain works without it. So three stars for nice quality chrome parts. Now that I know how it works, I would be fine doing another one - but this is NOT a good first time DIY homeowner part to install.

Perfect
It’s an orginal product from Kohler. New issues easy to install. Just had to adjust the screw at the bottom of the tub stopper to adjust for the rotation of the open close valve.

Looks and works great but expensive
Great product but pricey. The trim alone works only with the Kohler tub drain system.

Falls out, missing pieces (updated)
UPDATED: Upon further research and some trial/error, I was able to properly install. Be sure to loosen the set screw and unthread the black plastic piece a few times. I tried different settings until I got it looking right. It no longer falls out each time someone turns it. Looks nice but doesn't work well. Is missing required tools for proper install. Must purchase separately. Difficult to install and overly complicated for what it is. Would not recommend.

Only issue is after our installation the plug would only open so far and with our deep tub this creats a LOUD noise when draining. My wife just pulls it out and no noise. I don't know if the install was bad or if the design was bad. We just deal with it as replacing would be way too hard. Works well otherwise and quality is top as are most Kohler products.

Nice drain handle.
A nice drain handle, one that compliments our new Kohler tub. It is much nicer looking than the toggle lever our old tub had. I liked the idea of a rotary turn handle, but was concerned about how much effort it would take. It certainly requires less effort than our old toggle lever did. I was also concerned that this handle might obstruct the overflow drain and keep if from handling all the water the faucet could provide. We have strong water pressure (~90 psi) and I tested this and it passed with ease. With this handle in place, the overflow drain handled all of the water the faucet could provide.

Tends to plug itself but looks nice
Looks nice but it doesn't function as well. We just remodeled our bathroom and most of it is Kohler products. I will say one thing as a whole: Kohler products look beautiful but sometimes don't function as well as they should (especially for the price). This is a nice drain but it keeps "slipping" down plugging itself. Also, if you touch the "button" at all, it turns and starts to plug the drain (which slips down more). I find that I'm pulling the drain out and manually moving the screw that keeps it up to the right position. My husband says that he can do something about this (I'm hoping it's true), but, truly, for the price (and name brand), he shouldn't have to tweek it at all!
