Excellent goggles which are comfortable and include a safety shield. The shield can be removed following the instructions below
This safety shield is the best protection I have found for working in a machine shop where both wood and metal are being cut or machined. My glasses fit easily inside the goggles and what makes this combination shield so excellent is the design of the face shield. Unlike the ones I have used before, when you breath out, no fogging of the safety goggles occurs. At first I thought this was associated with the antifog coating, but I now believe it is due to closed design of the goggles coupled with the airflow design of the shield. When you breath out, all the air is forced down towards your feet. The goggles have a very clear window with no distortion. Putting the goggles on over glasses is easy, but I suspect if you have rally large lenses, it might not work. But thick lenses are no problem- mine are quite thick. Some reviewers have commented that it is nearly impossible to remove the shield from the goggles. It took me quite some time to figure out how to do this, as there are no directions included with the V90 to explain how to do this. I provide instructions below: First, notice that the shield is not flexible and is attached at the top edges by a very small plastic extension that fits into a hole in the goggles. Because the shield is not flexible, you need to do all your shape manipulation on the goggles while holding the shield motionless.. 1. With your left hand holding the edge of the goggles and your right hand holding the upper corner of the shield peal the flexible goggles away from the shield so that the plastic extension is released from its hole. 2. Carefully remove the center piece from the lip on the from of the goggles. 3. Carefully remove the plastic extension from the other side of the goggles without applying too much torque. What makes this tricky is that the plastic edge pins are easily broken off, so apply torque to them is dangerous. My guess is that the manufacturer did not intend for the user to ever remove the shield. But I have with a bit of practice learned to remove and replace it easily. It is simply a matter of doing it slowly and carefully the first time. I attach two pictures of the removed shield. The attachment pins are on the far left and right of the shield, and a closeup of the pin is provided in the second picture. Despite the lack of instructions, these are high quality goggles with a very comfortable safety shield attached. You can use them for two hours before they start to annoy you, which is for me true for goggles without a safety shield. Normal sized glasses fit comfortably inside the goggles which is very nice. These make working in a machine shop much, much safer.

How could they make goggles so uncomfortable?
In general, I prefer full face protection whenever I am using power tools, especially metalworking. My favorite isUvex Bionic Face Shield with Clear Polycarbonate Visor and Anti-fog Hard Coat , because it protects down below the chin. Conventional face masks have a nasty habit of allowing debris to bounce off of your work bench or chest, coming up underneath them onto your face. Still, it looked like these Jackson V90 goggles might be a good compromise in situations where you need full eye protection, but some additional shielding from the debris field would be good. You would not want to use these in a situation where fine particles such as metal chips could fly up under the mask. But that is all moot as these seem to be designed for someone without a nose. The frame and a lower protective portion of the mask are very strong and therefore not very flexible. The portion that fits around your forehead and cheekbones has some flex to it so it can form a seal. Unfortunately this area is not substantial enough to make up for the rigidness of the body. In order to get it to seal I have to set the strap extremely tight. And I have a decent size head - I wear a 7 1/2 hat. But what's worse, and totally unacceptable, is where it sits on the bridge of the nose. This area has virtually no flexibility at all -there is basically no place for your nose to go. I do not have a huge nose, but in order for these goggles to fit my nose they have to ride extremely high, practically hitting my lower eyelids. Wearing them any lower puts significant pressure on the bridge of my nose. Just to prove I'm not crazy, I gave a set to a friend with a perfectly normal face to try on. I did not prompt him at all with my opinion. He gave them back, saying "after 10 minutes my nose hurt". I bought a lot of goggles over the years and I never knew this could even be an issue. Strange.
