Somehow missed that they're plastic.

Thought I was buying metal. Don't know how I missed that they're plastic, but I did. It's evident they're plastic in the way the material of the shell is translucent above the LED. It's peculiar also that with a plastic housing the panes themselves are actual glass. When handling, the glass is much more rigid than the plastic shell, which is disconcerting and causes me to be far more gingerly with them. Finally, the risk taken with all LED "candles", the flicker pattern is not realistic enough to fool an observer of more than a few seconds. There isn't enough brightness variation between bright and dim (neither the difference in lumens nor the frequency with which they flicker) to illicit the question, "is it real?" {ETA: Speaking of brightness, they are bright! They are far brighter than a real votive or tealight. After being turned on for 36 straight hours I noticed they were dimmer; perhaps adding a low value resistor to one end of the circuit would bring the brightness to a more believable level.} The one single thing about them that pleases me is that, unlike most LED "candles", these use everyday alkaline batteries instead of those too-expensive-for-what-they-are button cells it seems everything from China runs on. {ETA: The benefit is they've run for 36 hours straight so far and are just a little dimmer, so if they're only used for a few hours a night, once or twice a week, these batteries would almost seem to last forever.} Fine for a kid's room, but I'm used to a little more sophisticated design. They're not bad, they're just not what I was expecting.

I like the price and craftsmanship !! Makes a great gift as well. So cute! There is no timer function on these or remote for lights — doesn’t matter - still cute

Love these lamps. They are plastic; however, don’t look like plastic. This is a benefit for us because we are on Florida’s intercostal, so no rust. Provides just the right amount of light while enjoying our lanai.
