"Huge" newborn cover

I don't really qualify to write a review cause I haven't used it yet however I have formed an opinion... This cover hardly qualifies as a newborn cover, it's huge! I have Alvababy one size diapers and wanted something to fit properly the first 3-4 months til the one size fits. I started with the ones I have at 3 months for my first, and while it worked, there was almost more diaper than baby!! The part that was particularly too big, was the width in the crotch, so I was looking for something smaller... This newborn rumparooz cover is as wide in the crotch as a one size Alvababy, (the gray chevron is a one-size Alvababy pocket and the gray with arrows is from eBay for $4) which is exactly what I didn't want, I have collected a few all in ones in newborn size for baby#2's first few months and wanted a few covers for flour sack towels however I'll be getting a few more much cheaper covers off eBay that are a lot smaller... It may be a great cover and I have no doubt that it is, however I need something a 7-8 lb newborn fits into and I can guarantee this would not have fit my first 7 lb 5 oz newborn... I will try to update after I actually use it with how it actually works. My update after putting this newborn cover to use...... it is a beautiful cover, the color is lovely and everything functions at it should, the thing I really love about it, is it's softness, it is a very pliable and comfortable cover. However........ it is still a huge newborn cover. As a matter of fact, my 8 MONTH OLD is STILL wearing this cover. He's a lanky child under 18 lbs but that doesn't change the fact that this so called 'newborn' cover still fits him. He's all the way out in both rise and hip snaps so it won't go much longer. So the moral of the story is, I love this cover, but my hope was for a cover that fit my newborn (he was 7lb. 3 oz.) at birth and I disliked it enough that I didn't wear it till he was at least 2 n a half months old. I definitively got my use out of it anyway since he is so thin now unlike my first child. If you're looking into buying this, do so only if you're looking to use others diapers or disposables on your baby at first, or you're expecting to have a 10+ lb baby. If you're just looking to add to your stash a little later, then go for it, it is a very well made and beautiful cover???? I hope I was helpful!

I’ll come back and edit my review once baby is born and we’ve been able to try this cover out. I’ve bought a few different brands of newborn diaper covers to try out so I’ll try and do a comparison as well! But it seems like it’ll do the job

Tag Leaks

I wanted to love this cover. The fit is great and the print is adorable, but like others said, it leaks at the tag. My newborn can’t nap in it (which is pretty much all newborns do) without it leaking at the back through the sewn in tag. If they fixed that, I wouldn’t have any complaints for this cover.

We have about 7 of these rumparooz covers in various colors and designs, and I absolutely love them. They are my favorite, and if I were rebuilding our stash from scratch I would not get any other covers. We have also tried the Flip covers (which came highly recommended), but the elastic on those wore out very quickly, and they are just so much flimsier than the Rumparooz covers. We have one Best Bottoms cover that I also like, but the Rumparooz are still better. Biggest selling points for me: Sturdy-feeling Double gusset (I trust this SO much more for holding everything in (insert, liner, excrement . . .) Four buttons, each side with its two vertically placed instead of horizontally - this is so important for sizing. The Flip covers have this too (but I avoid using them b/c of the flimsy feel, single gusset, and bad elastic), while the Best Bottom cover has them horizontally aligned. With how the Rumparooz buttons are, you can get exactly the fit you need when your baby is in between sizes; we almost never have the top and bottom buttons lined up with each other.

Great cover for flats or prefolds!

The newborn cover has a dip in the front to go around the umbilical cord stump. This was great when the umbilical cord stump had not yet fallen off our baby (which took around a week). My baby was born between seven and eight pounds and we had no problem getting the diaper to fit. The fabric of the cover keeps the wetness in, unlike some other covers we have used that can feel a little damp on the outside. Another upside is the double gusset, which does a pretty good job of containing leaks around the legs. This of course depends on the absorbency of your flat or prefold. Now that my baby is around a month old and tends to release several bowel movements in quick succession, one single flat doesn't cut it, so we have experienced small leaks. My baby is now around ten pounds and we have moved to the highest rise. If you don't need the umbilical cord cut out, you can probably use the one size, especially when using prefolds, which are a little bulkier.

Great cloth diaper cover

I had several cloth diapers that needed a cover. This is an awesome cloth diaper cover for a newborn. It is easy to wipe clean & wash. The double gussets work great. My little one is almost 3 mo. & we are still using it. They, also, have awesome color options.

Great diaper cover

I had used the newborn rumparoos which my baby has just grown out of - still using it but we are down to the last button and only using the top buttons (thunder thighs therefore don't clip on the bottom buttons). I thought buying the one size cover would be perfect for her - even at the smallest setting these os diaper cover is still fairly large on her. Currently trying out different brands to find the best fit for her and will grow into instead.

Beautiful colour

Great product for my 5 month old daughter. Saves me from cleaning her poop up her back. Helps to keep all in tact in her diaper. Love the colour!! Easy to clean and wipe down.
