Bird warmer

Takes time for bird to know it can touch it doesn't get hot just a warmer the only thing I'd suggest is the cord in back isn't tight kinda hangs there.

So good I bought another

We have used this heater in our parakeet cage for quite a few years now. The room they are in seemed colder this year. So we bought another! Put it on another corner of the cage and they love having the little extra heat to go sit by if needed.

Great!

I've owned 3 parrots and I will never not have this in their cages. These heaters are great and acts as a "buddy" st night time that my parrots can snuggle with. It never gets too hot and my birds are usually free to move away from it when they want.. and it doesn't generate heat to make the cage too hot even when they are covered at night. All my birds have loved these and so have I.

Super simple, safe and dependable

I have two smaller ones, one to put on top of a small section of my budgies’ main cage and the other as an emergency warmer for the hospital cage if any of the birds falls ill and needs a warmer, quieter space. The littles like to sit under the warmer on cool mornings before the house heating or the sun warms the room to their satisfaction. Its radiant warmth makes a very pleasant difference within six to eight inches without ever getting too hot or making the cage material hot. It is a constant reliable temperature and needs nothing more than plugging in, no complex setup or settings. I jumped at the larger version when it came up on sale as I already knew I wanted another for backup. Really makes a nice place for my little birds especially as one gets older and a little stiff in the morning, and a little susceptible to respiratory illness, it helps her a lot to stay healthy and comfy.

Lovies love it!

I have 4 lovebirds in 2 separate cages, so I have 2 of these heaters. One in each cage. I keep my house about 70 year round. I cover the cages at night and every morning when I uncover the cages all 4 birds are huddled up against the heaters. The heaters are warm to the touch, but don't get too warm. I love that they have a chew resistant cord and provide my babies the extra warmth they're needing.

Parakeet Heaven!

My little birdie is loving this heater. Sometimes it can get cold in the house at night. This keeps him at a nice temperature and happy!

They use them whenever they want

We bought two small heaters for separately caged cockatiel and parakeet. After just a few cold winter nights I saw droppings indicating that they had slept near the heaters. We bought a large one for our very cautious Amazon. She wouldn't go near it and we returned it within the return window. The heater is expensive and we didn't want to miss the refund! After the return we went over many reviews again and found that some birds take up to two months to accept it. We've ordered a small one that we can hide behind her metal mirror, which will conceal the panel but still conduct the heat. I was concerned about the quarter-inch of unprotected wire at the back of the panels. I wrapped many layers of electrical tape around the joints and covered them with pieces of metal can wired to the cage bars. Only the parakeet can reach a cord, but I have peace of mind knowing that they're all protected from chewing that very vulnerable joint. If they get too curious about the cords I'll cover them with half-inch PVC and wire the top of the pipe to the cage behind the guard I've installed.

Best purchase ever

Brilliant product. Our caique loves this, and the ability to quickly disconnect it so we can move the cage around is very helpful. We were concerned he might chew the wire but so far no problems. Be aware that birds are naturally wary of new things. It took Charlie a good few weeks to finally make friends with the heater. We had some awkward moments, like after installing the heater next to his sleeping perch, he simply avoided that perch for days. But it's all good now. Our method: - Expose him to the heater outside the cage for a few days until he's comfortable with it. - Put it in the cage every morning so he can interact with it all day, but remove it at night so it doesn't put him off his sleep. - When he seems comfortable enough, trial leaving it in there overnight. Once he tolerates it overnight, you're good to go. We found that once he figured out that it's warm, the rest came naturally.

Great product. UK Adapter required

Central heating is non existent so bought a reptile heat lamp but had a few 2nd thoughts then decided to buy the med/larger warmer. Needs a US to UK adaptor 13a240v. Have also attached to a Tapo WiFi plug and got a Govee home therm. So I keep an eye. Have positioned mine horizontally as I have 6 Birbs but they take turns. I cover them with an Argos fleece throw at night and have monitored the heat for safety and tbh it only gets slightly warm. So enough to quite aptly snuggle against. Probably raises the whole cage around 1.5 degrees if that.

Snuggly for cockatiels

My cockatiels absolutely love this. I leave it on 24/7 and have put a flat perch under, they sit next to it whenever they want and fall asleep, it's a slight warmth, nothing high. You can keep your hand on it, it's not harmful.

Merveilleux achat ! Tranquilité d'esprit et um oiseau heureux, au chaud.

J'ai hésité pendant des mois avant de l'acheter mais là je comprend tous les bons commentaires que j'ai lus sur le sujet: après quelques semaines d'hésitation pour apprivoiser la "chose"... MON OISEAU L'ADORE!!! J'ai un inséparable âgé de 18 ans qui perd un peu ses plumes. J'ai mis la plaque de côté, c-à-d le côté le plus long à la verticale, et j'ai placé un barreau chauffant d'un côté de la plaque (avec un barreau réguler tout près ) et sa tente en polar de l'autre côté, avec une ouverture collée à la plaque chauffante. Eh bien il passe maintenant toutes ses nuits et ses siestes dans sa tente, la tête collée contre la plaque, en faisant de petits "crouc-crouc" de contentement. J'ai également vu son état de santé physique et psychologique s'améliorer grandement!!! Il a plus d'énergie, est plus joueur, mange mieux et est plus joyeux! J'ai aussi un gros poids de moins sur la conscience car au Quebec, l'hiver,c'est toujours frais dans la maison et nous, les humains, on s'habille juste un peu plus chaud mais eux ne peuvent pas porter de vêtements hi! hi! et, puisqu'ils ont une température corporelle plus élevée (autour de 42°C) que nous humains, quand je suis bien eh bien pour lui c'est frisquet ou limite ou bien carrément froid! De plus, sachant que, la nuit, la température baisse toujours à l'intérieur, je m'inquiétais beaucoup pour lui. Depuis que j'ai la plaque et le barreau chauffant, je sens enfin qu'il est bien et que je n'ai pas à m'en faire. Cependant, c'est juste parfait pour se coller dessus mais pas assez chaud pour chauffer la cage. J'ai donc également acheté une petite lampe avec une ampoule chauffante uva-uvb blanche pour le jour (donne de la luminosité en plus, ce qui est apprecié dans la sombreur de l'hiver) et noire pour la nuit (réchauffe sans éclairer). Bref, je recommande fortement et ça marche très bien.

Scary to birb

Bought for my cockatiel as the reviews I read for the perch tended to mention foot burns. My girl has been kinda scared of it since I got it a about a month ago, but I noticed that one day when it was chillier then she was sitting by it. I tend to worry less about turning on the heat in the house everytime it drops a degree or two, and it has put my mind at ease that she is able to keep cozy warm under her cage cover at night. I love the added spot to disconnect the cord if you need to move the cage
