meh. not really worth the price.
It was between this and the Jonard ST-550. I went with this one as the reviews on the Jonard indicated the length setting was not repeatable or even maintainable and that is the main reason I want a tool like this. I tested this with Tefzel 22759/16 24AWG wire, which is the most common size I use. There are other options for 24AWG but I also go down to 28AWG and this and the Jonard are the only tools I could find. In general, I was blown away by the quality of the tool. I had serious doubts that a plastic tool could be anything but complete junk. But wow, it has great precision and repeatability. It feels great in your hand with a good weight to it and very ergo contours. You press the blue button with your thumb to strip. With the Jonard it looks like you squeeze the two clamps together, which seems like it would be very secure compared to a thumb press against your palm with the Jokari. However I found the Jokari to be very natural and easy to use. I suppose this is because you are only stripping wire so your palm provides a reasonable enough backstop to the thumb press. The two red adjusters have detents as opposed to being infinitely variable positioning. As I only tested a few strips I can't say for sure but I'd bet it will get sloppy over the course of many cuts. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't find the replacement blades anywhere in the US (Jokari p/n 46025) but if you change the settings from wire to wire I think you'll wear the detent and need an entire replacement tool anyway, by the time the blade dulls. The benefit of the detents is very good repeatability. Another eyebrow raising moment considering it's made of plastic. The big downside is that it must be calibrated for metric wire/insulation. There is a little chart printed (very handy) showing AWG equivalent, but for the wire I was testing, the correct size was a bit too big and the next size down was a bit too small (nicking and sometimes cutting the wire). Being too big is a problem because the cut edge of the insulation ends up ragged. I would still give it four stars but the other problem is that inserting the wire and getting it lined up in the round cutout between the blades, is not a precise operation and it requires too much care. Meaning it's very slow. I think this is mainly because you don't have a good view of the blade seeing as it's completely enclosed and deep into the tool. So, I'm back to using my General brand plier-type strippers. Also with fixed cut diameter settings (a thumbwheel that limits the amount you can close the pliers), but that tool is calibrated better for the type of wire I use. But because I can't get a precise strip length I need to do a 2nd operation to cut the end of the bare wire to length. By using an assembly line technique, even with 2 operations it is much faster than the Jokari. If I cared to, I could also just weld or epoxy a depth stop onto the end of the plier blade. This tool might work for you a lot better than for me, if the wire you use better matches the metric thickness settings. For me, it's going into my loaner tool drawer.

German Engineering.. Awesome!
Wow, I'm very impressed with this wire stripper! I needed to strip 28 AWG solid wire for a hobby project, I looked around Amazon but after reading other reviews, I learned that there are many cheap copies of various small wire strippers. I avoided them, finally deciding to get this stripper. Yes, it's spendy, but when you're working with very small fragile wires you want quality engineering. The Jokari PWS-Plus 002 is a great small wire stripper! I'm using with very small hobby LED lights, every cut and strip has been exact! I highly recommend this made in Germany product, avoid the cheap copies.

Very useful product
Using it for dyi guitar pedals. Works like a charm for these.

Excellent Small Wire Strippers
Amazed at how well these worked on small wires. Have used the crimp style for decades and have always had issues getting them to do a good job, especially on Teflon coated wire. These worked great for me. Didn't have to try 2 or more attempts, change the gauge, or angle the tool. This tool worked on the indicated gauge and stripped cleanly without nicking the wire or tearing out strands.

Effective, But Harder To Use Well vs Other Precision Stripper Designs
This precision wire stripper is definitely effective for stripping the jackets off and individual conductor insulation off of fine multi-conductor cable assemblies with gauges above 30 AWG. It feels very impressive and well build, and the finish is very good. However, as much as it seems better made out of higher quality materials than the "pincer style"[eg ST-450] fine gauge precision wire strippers, it performs worse in my experience. I think the problem is that you must push down on the lever while pulling out along a perpendicular axis, so there is a tendency for the conductor to snag on the blade and result in strands getting damaged if you are not careful. This isn't an issue with the pincer style tools, and so overall I find the work speed much faster with the other style. One other limitation is much less clearance for stripping off insulator length, even though this offers more than enough for most uses. The one advantage this style of tool has is the moving blade can be removed from any limit giving you complete control over it, but I have no application for such a feature.

Decent tool
So far so good. I've been using it to strip 26 & 28 AWG wire. I've had no broken strands. My self adjusting wire stripper always broke some strands no matter how I adjusted it. The stripped insulation doesn't just fall away. You have to knock it out or move the length gauge backwards. I'm not thrilled about the price, but it's worth it since it is not breaking any strands. The price is on par with similar strippers.

Works quite well
This is a very nice tool. It works quite well for stripping things like 36 gage thermocouple wire.

Quality, ergonomics and size - but not great for larger wires
Trying to strip 20awg PVC wire can be a pain because it doesn't perfectly trim the insulation, so you have to get a firm grip on the wire to yank it out. Also, some sizes of wire will get a strand or two cut if you're not careful - it's very easy to feel when the insulation gets cut so you can avoid damaging the conductor, but you do have to take some care with it. Would love to have the length adjuster go down to 3mm, as I use a lot of crimp contacts with that length, but it looks like I could just glue a 1mmx3mm diameter piece of plastic to fix this. I've got quite a few different kinds of strippers, and these will be my go-to for anything 24awg and above.
