Light Laguioles place setting, not the premium stuff
Updated review(10-23-2014): Since there are some statements that these are made in China, I'll not confirm that. Mine included paperwork stating made in France and each of the knives is embossed "Made in France". The bee emblem is on them too. I've been using them for a couple months now and no complaints over everyday usage. Knives still sharp, the plastic is still tightly bonded to the metal. But its a fact, there are a wide array of values with this brand with knockoffs everywhere on the web. The good stuff is much more costly(over 3X more expensive per place setting). Williams Sonoma has the better quality Laguioles if you don't want to go thru the Euro websites and do the Euro conversion to buy direct from the manufacturer. Original review: This isn't the premium Laguiole line of flatware, the price indicates that and the thinness of the metal confirms it. The good stuff will cost you at least $90 for a 4 or 5 piece place setting. For that you get thicker metal, at least double the width of these right here. Knives won't bend as these easily do. Forks, spoons, knives are weightier in the good stuff. So what about these? For everyday usage they are fine but I hand wash. I wouldn't roll these out for a dinner party but for the day to day world, these low end Laguioles are fine. The set comes razor sharp, buffed to a mirror finish, tightly assembled and good looking. However I did buy a set of 8 of the expensive premium stuff after getting these low enders from Amazon, that stuff is perfect for entertaining!

Too light-weight for me
FYI, they felt like something I’d take to a picnic, not keep as my normal set. Just personal preference.

Flatwear
Beautiful color. The knives are actually sharp which is why I bought the set. For some people the small size of the tea spoons are really coffee or desert spoons. The cost is too high.

Looks good but handle is broken.
While the set looks impressive, I had one knife with a cracked handle. The crack runs from the base to the first rivet as if it was riveted on too tight. Perhaps it occurred from shipping but it doesn’t seem that way. All I can say is I’ve got to use the broken handle knife so my guests don’t get the wrong idea about serving them with broken utensils.

If you love beautiful quality silverware--this is the one. The color pink is perfect. It's well made and lightweight.

The knives lack weight
Annoyingly the knives in this set are very light. The knives in my set are significantly lighter than the forks and spoons which feels strange.

So far we're happy with this purchase. It's as advertised. Hoping the durability is there and that I feel the same way in a few years.

They were much lighter and seemed not to be of the same quality as the ones I had at home. So I was suspicious and suspected they could be fake and not original and that they were made in China.(SInce Laguilole's original patent is not longer valid and a lot of producers claim to be the real deal). If you want to be sure to get the real deal, I suggest you go to the french website and order real Laguiole flatware and if not these do well even though they are different.

Buon Prodotto
Scrivo questa recensione dopo un anno dall'acquisto del prodotto. Usiamo queste posate tutti i giorni dalla data di consegna dell'ordine (dicembre 2013) e posso dire di essere soddisfatto del prodotto. Un solo coltello ha perso la piccola ape posta sul dorso, simbolo della Laguiole, evidentemente per un difetto di saldatura (la cosa è avvenuta nei primissimi giorni d'uso). Tutte le altre posate sono ancora perfette dopo innumerevoli passaggi in lavastoviglie. I materiali e l'assemblaggio sono buoni (non parliamo qui di un prodotto di alta qualità ben inteso) per un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Consigliate!
