OK, With Some Caveats
I bought two of these for use over a dining room table. The table is located under a vaulted ceiling with no power connections, so battery operation was the main reason I chose them. As others have noted, mounting these lights is a challenge. Mine had two slightly different mounting kits. One appears to be an attempt to rectify the faults of a previous design, but succeeds in introducing a different fault in the process. These are not for the inexperienced or poorly equipped DIYer. Light output is adequate for general background lighting over a dining table. Not really bright enough for games or crafts. They were dimmer than a 40W incandescent lamp. I would estimate their output to be in the range of a 25-30W incandescent. I chose the "bronze" color. It's actually more like dark brown, but the lamp comes apart without difficulty and can easily be re-painted any color you wish. The glass globes are fragile. They don't have the feel of robust glass like you get with a glass baking dish. One of mine arrived with a small chip on the rim, but it's hardly visible and not worth sending it back. The lamps are packed in some kind of weak styrofoam that disintegrates as you're trying to get it open. Expect a mess. The biggest drawback I found was the use of alkaline "D" cells. They're expensive and environmentally wasteful. Using rechargeables is not really an option because rechargeables are typically .3 volts less than alkaline and with three batteries that adds up to a difference of nearly one volt. This reduces the light output even more. Of course I knew this when I bought the lamps, but I have retrofitted them with rechargeable batteries and higher output LEDS. This is not a modification for the inexperienced. It involves designing a circuit for deep discharge battery protection and thermal problems with the higher output LEDS. Run time after modification is about two hours, with light output of each lamp equal to a 100W incandescent bulb. Longer activities can be supported by swapping out the battery pack. All in all, I'm pleased with the lamps. It took a lot of work to make them fit my application, but the results were worth it.

Great choice if you don't want to hard wire a hanging light
The only reason I gave this amazing remote control batter powered hanging light was that when you install it you must put 2 meal wing like brackets that pop open inside the ceiling through rather large holes. Also if you do not have an electric screw driver you need to have a lot of strength to accomplish this mission of making these 2 deep holes into your sheet rock. My son did that part for me. But, the direction are clear. And it's easy to put together. I rent so I was not about to pay to have an someone hard wire anything. This light has a remote control and has 4 settings for bright light all the way down to dim. It looks like it is hard wired and gives enough light to be hung over a small dinner table. And the length is very easy to adjust. Also, it only uses 3, D batteries which is great!. It does scratch easily on the metal insert so use care when putting that part in. I scratched the outside glass part oops but, you can't really tell. I highly recommend this product if you want a hanging light and don't want to hard wire one. Very happy I bought it and very happy my 23 year old son did the ceiling installation I would not have been able to unless I had a Dewalt.

Soooo easy to install
First and foremost, these lights were so easy to install. After getting them to the height that I wanted I just hit the 100% switch and on they came. at 100% they put out so much light that you can't tell they're battery operated. The glass is nicely cut though they're a little rough. The bronze is beautiful, and the brass accents are nice. One Each light has its own remote, but one will work for all. The only dig I can give about the lights is the remote is pretty cheap and doesn't feel like it will last but we'll see. I plan on another review in a month!

Great for the price!
I needed a light over my sink but the roofline doesn’t allow for a hard wired one. This is a great alternative. Not overly bright but enough to see when I’m doing dishes. The finish is a little less if a brushed nickel than I was hoping but it blends with my other lighting fine. I only have it on when actively using that area & the batteries are still fine after 2 months. I leave the switch on the side on all the time.

Over the sink light
I was so excited when I found this. I needed a light over my sink and this made it so simple. I had put off doing the electrical to put one in and this solved the problem. It's just enough light, is very attractive and easy to install.

Problem solved!
Moved into a new home a year ago and drove me crazy that there was NO light or electrical hook up over our kitchen sink. Without the money to pay an electrician to come wire I felt hopeless. Finally, after getting frustrated with being in the dark while washing dishes etc I searched everywhere online for alternatives to hardwiring a light. Finally, this brand came up. I couldn’t believe there was an option, and while it was the only option I saw anywhere I was please that at least the light looked decent enough and that it was inexpensive all while providing a viable lighting option for me! Had it for three days now and it’s great. The light is sufficient for over the sink, and the light looks good too. I spray painted the silver to black to go with my cabinet hardware. The light in the pic is set to 50%

You CAN make wire the longer again & I love it
The media could not be loaded. I have a lot to say! 1) I pulled the wire too short and it took me a long time to figure out how to make it longer again. I posted a picture and a video showing how to do it. 2) you access the battery area by pulling out the light, pressing the 2 tabs in on the side and sliding the back part off. 3) the color is a dull brown color. I didn't like the color so I spray painted the metal pieces a black "hammered" spray paint color. 4) the light brightness is good , in my opinion. No complaints on that.

Good alternative where no electrical wires available.
Installed in concrete ceiling. Had to be a bit resourceful. Looks great. Works well.

Dimmer than I'd hoped
Significantly larger than I expected and not as bright as I'd hoped. Structurally it's a very nice design and is easy to install

I love it! An everyday light that works as emergency lighting.
I love it! Easy to install, looks great and works well. Installed over kitchen table as i had no power above and didnt want a swag, it would be a pain to reach without the remote but i also have light when the power goes out.
