Mini but mighty thermometer
One of the best food thermometers I've owned. Compact size keeps it from falling out or sticking way out in my pocket. Very easy to use and read. This is the 2nd one I've purchased and will continue to use.

GOOD PRODUCT. IT'S VARIOUS FEATURES ARE QUITE USEFUL.
I do survey work on HVAC systems that are having troubles. I used a Cooper Industries digital thermometer for years. Still have it. This guy is nice because it updates rapidly, and you can easily tell when it has reached equilibrium with the measured fluid. The folding feature is nice as the device turns off when you fold in the probe. Saves on batteries! Also, when sticking this guy into a flex duct or a flex connector in rigid duct, leaving is half unfolded, allows you to let the unit hang, so you don't have to be holding it all the time. Some reviewers complained that it did not come to equilibrium quickly enough. Well, to get that kind of response time requires that you have virtually no mass in the probe - which means you are stuck with the end of a thermocouple wire. Great for measuring free air or a pot of water. But if you have to stick the probe into a flex duct or flex duct connector, or a Pete's Plug in piping, then you're going to have to have a sturdy probe. This one does come to equilibrium quickly, so I find those complaints without merit. I don't give 5's casually. This is a good product.

Functional and reliable
I use this for tracking water temperature in the lake. It is easy to read and reliable. This is the second of these devices I have purchased. The first one lasted 3-4 years before the temperature reading became unreliable. It will not last forever but is one of the few devices on the market that will accurately monitor lake water temperature and the annualized cost is OK.

Great pocket thermometer!
I had shopped around extensively for a good pocket thermometer with good features at a reasonable price. I think Extech has a good reputation for their products. From what I read, it sounded like a good choice. As a Hotel Maintenance Engineer, we also often use laser thermometers, but they are not always the best choice for certain situations and too large to carry in a shirt pocket. I don't always like to trust temperature gauges or what a cooler/fridge thermostat might indicate? We are often taking temperature's throughout a work shift from swimming pools to restaurant coolers and so this is the perfect tool! Great features, good quality, water proof and digital of course. Has a nice cover to protect the probe. Be careful though, it is very sharp. It offers both celsius and fahrenheit, Min/Max recall and data hold. I really love this thermometer and highly recommend. Comes in so handy.

Alarm function is completely worthless- a lot of frustration and a huge waste of money
If you are looking for a device that alerts you when a temperature falls outside of a given range, keep looking. Other than my 100% regret making this purchase, I regret more that I waited longer than 30 days to try this out and now I can't return it. 1) 24 hours after I removed the plastic thing that activates the battery, the low battery indicator turned on. Really? The included battery is only good for a single day? 2) The unit is not intuitive at all. You will never be able to program it without the included booklet. 3) I bought this product to alert me if the freezer quits working, and after programming, it did sound an alarm after I pulled the probe from the freezer- once. It alarms one time, for up to 1 minute, and then it is forever silent. This "feature" is documented in the instructions, however was not on the item listing when I bought it. So if the freezer quits while you are at work, you'll never know. What is the point of this alarm feature? If I could spend 24 hours a day next to my freezer, I could just look at the light to tell whether or not it is on. If the item description on the listing gave any indication that this unit only alarms once I would have never bought it. At least now you have been warned.

TM26 NSF Certified
I use it for finishing maple syrup. Accurate, waterproof, and easy to read. Alarm on thisTM26 is a plus. No issues with wire coating yet, as per other reviews. I didn't like that you can't set the temperature alarm down, just up. Meaning, you have to scroll several hundred degrees up just to go down a couple degrees.

Temperature prod
Purchased to carry out household water temperature tests and works a treat. Seems quite accurate and does the job splendidly. A very good and handy purchase. Used for LD risk assessment.

Not waterproof
After two months of use outside and in water this failed. I checked the battery and found out that it was totally corroded. Also seems like water has got inside the display. Was never convinced of the accuracy - seemed to be reading around 3 degrees C too high

Impressed
We use it at a property to accurately get the water temperatures on taps and showers, it does proof very well against the much more pricy options professionals in the mechanical field do use.

wow that is what I need :-)
I love it 2 years latter I have use it for two years and it is great stuff for sure.. after this time and so many work and wash, lid for battery come loose and water come in, dry out and 5 month again, but the battery cover is hold in only with very small plastic, which break out at all so I need to use tape for presing the battery in, but it is still working well... any way, this kinde of probs are all same system and all battery have very similar cover. I can still recomend it..

Don’t do it!
I purchased this product to take some water temperatures. Straight out the package the display kept flashing on and off. I replaced the battery and the display started working again. This lasted for a whole five minutes and then it died! Don’t waste your money. Spend a bit more and buy something more robust.
