Good for the money

The holes did not line up to put the pins in the bar to put it together. I was able to make it work. The set up is basic but nice.

Alternative fix to pins not fitting in bar

As you can see by the timing of all these reviews, this item is just arriving via UPS to purchasers and all have the same consistent issue, namely the pins not fitting to enable use of the bar and weight set. The pin is 1/4 inch and although it will pass through the outer bar holes, the inner bar holes are a few centimeters smaller and impossible to fit, and cannot be forced. I, like the other reviewers, then looked into the box for instructions that perhaps it was not commonsense on how to assemble and there was a special trick to it. No instructions. Not wanting to send the unit back because of the impossibility of finding something else timely and affordable due to COVID-19 and holiday purchases, I thought I could configure a simple fix: a hitch pin, a lock pin, similar to those used at the gym or even a Clevis pin secured with a safety pin could work. Could not find a fitting that was slightly smaller than the 1/4 inch holes but not too small like 3/16 which was the next size down. So after an hour at Lowes with great customer support from Jorge, I determined I could rig a 1.18 inch (6 mm wide x 3cm) flat Phillips machine bolt with accompanying wing nuts. The box will say M6-1.00 x30. However, once installed there was no need (or room) for the wing nuts and the bar was perfectly secure. Bolts were $2 for a box of six. Bar is secure and ready for use, I am just waiting for them (BalanceFrom, weird name) to respond to my email and send the clips that were missing from my boxes. Agreed that the boxes need to be packaged better with padding as one of my boxes was destroyed along the way and the first UPS drivers who delivered two of three boxes said they could not deliver the third until it was repackaged and strapped. This is why some other purchasers reported destroyed boxes and had missing weights that probably got lost along the way. Also, there was sand leaking from my 10-pound weight so I disinfected and washed all the weights and sealed that weight with some black electric tape. Hopefully these workarounds will enable you or someone else to still use this set (once complete) as a beginners to intermediate workout set in a safe home around. Additionally, the company should take notice of these reviews and share with its production and distribution teams so that these issues can be alleviated, if they want to stay in business and engender customer support, loyalty. Overall the price and quality is decent

The media could not be loaded. I dislike, the holes that were improperly for the bar to be connected and made into one they aren’t aligned properly so, unfortunately for me I’m not able to connect them together.

Missing pieces

I received my shipment today and I was missing the bar . I tried contacting Amazon and they cannot replace a missing item. I tried contacting Balance from through their phone number and it goes to a voicemail. I tried contacting them through email with no response. I just want my missing item or a full refund.

Trouble assembling barbell

Great value for the money. I am pleased with the quality of the vinyl weight plates and the packaging that was used during shipment (came in three boxes). However, the pins that come with the barbell are too large in diameter to fit into the holes that connect the two pieces of the barbell. Please note that the size of the holes in the barbell vary depending upon the bar that you receive. I had to take the barbell to a hardware store to have someone help me determine the correct size screws needed to connect both pieces of the barbell. The screws I ended up buying were under $2, but narrower than the screw mentioned in other reviews.

Pins don’t fit!

Not well packaged- boxes were beat up and torn. Fortunately, I received all my items in good shape. My one big issue was that the pins to connect the barbell (it comes in two pieces) DID NOT FIT. It took my husband an hour and several different tools as well as lots of brute strength to get the pins to insert. If you don’t have the same resources, you will not be able to use the item. I still gave it four stars because once assembled, the bar, clips, and plates make a perfectly good basic set for home use. The manufacturer needs to correct this issue, but otherwise, it’s a good value for the money.

The dumbbells were different, one set was new, the other set was dusty and looked second hand.

The pins didn't fit well to connect the two halves of the bar. One dumbbell couldn't fit in well. I had to scrap the hole to fit the bar. One set of the dumbbells looks new, shiny, and clean. The other set looks dusty and used. It was from the dusty set that the hole on the 25lbs piece was not polished.

Good item for the price, but shaky business practices

For the price its definitely not bad, but it shipped missing one of the plates (1 10lb plate) - all other plates were there. Spoke with amazon and they can't send me the missing plate so I will be getting a partial refund instead. This is a decent compromise, but with an item like this, having only 1 10lb plate is useless. Thankfully, it was the 10lb missing and not the 25lb or this truly would have been a terrible purchase. I would only buy this if you its the best bargain you can find on a short notice and are ok with getting it with missing parts.

Design and packaging changed

I was quite surprised after reading all the negative reviews. They changed the barbell design and everything came in one package. The barbell is now threaded to join the halves (no pins), and everything was secure and not damaged. These are still cheap vinyl weight like you would get at Walmart, but decent for the price.

Just as described. As a bonus you can buy a weighted belt and start doing calisthenics with these. I'm very happy with these weights.

Good for the money

Pretty good for the money. The pins seem too big but I just hammered them in. I think this is probably done by design. The pins will definitely not fall out.

High quality for good price

Product was very high quality for the price and came with everything when I ordered the bar was high-quality metal with some high quality dumbells overall very good purchase for the price!
