Works as described - Pay attention to the polarity switch on the back for 7 blade trailer.

Works great, covers the vast majority of the options needs. In my case I need to adapt down to a 4 pin utility trailer. Pay attention to the instruction as there is what looks to be a polarity switch/plug on the back that you need to verify the wiring of your 7 blade style trainer. It is easily accessed and changed, just something to verify on your vehicle trailer combo. Otherwise it is plug and play for 4 and 5 pins.

Well engineered!

I have not had a need to use this adaptor as of yet, but first appearances are that it is well engineered. I like the fact you can tow trailers with 4 or 5 prong flat connectors and 6 prong round connectors with my truck that is equipt with the 7 prong RV type plug. It also has another plug which allows you to reverse polarity for the two wires to the brakes due to some trailers being wired opposite. The instructions say that if your brakes are already set when you hook up your connector, to simply unplug the polarity changing plug, rotate it, and plug it back in. Your brakes should then work with your brake controller. The seals over the plugs probably are not very tight, but it is an adaptor, so corrosion will likely not be as bad since you will be taking it off and storing it out of the weather when not in use.

HOPKINS MULTI TOW ADAPTER

This adapter is really handy. I have newer tow vehicles with the rv type plug. I keep one of these adapters in each of my vehicles. I allows me to hook up to almost any type of utility or equipment or boat trailer with flat or round plug, It allows me to utilize my electric brake controller also on trailers that are equipped with electric brakes. The trailer must be wired with the correct configuration for the type of plug used 4 or 5 flat or 7 pin round. This adapter will not correct for screwed-up or shorted out wiring, bad bulbs, poor grounding etc. If your lights and brakes are in proper working order and wired correctly this adapter will work perfectly adapting the plug to your tow vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All-in-one solution

This adapter is a blessing. Two of our three Jeeps only have the 7-way plug, and tend to need the 4-way when we borrow a small utility trailer. Haven't towed using the 6-way portion of the adapter, but did use it while diagnosing some faulty trailer wiring. Fits into the 7-way receptacle nicely, and doesn't wiggle about. The cover for the 4/5-way plug has stretched a little over time, which may be a concern if it was permanent on the vehicle, but since it lives inside 98% of the time, I'm not worried.

One Adapter to Rule Them All

I bought this after using a borrowed trailer with a 4 wire connector. This plugs into my 7 wire outlet and give me every possible option for "standard" trailer wiring connectors. Appears nicely made and the quick change feature for the 6 round outlet is nice.
