Add padding if using for long times
Easy to put on, works well. After an hour of use they began chafing the ankle bone. I added a few socks with the ends cut out for extra padding now it's fine.

Well made set of hobbles, used them on a colt I’m starting and they did very well. Quality is and good strong stitching with thick leather.

Plan to oil upon arrival
I don’t know about you but I am getting awfully tired of having to deeply oil every leather good Weaver makes. I’ve had horses over 50 yrs and I am used to buying leather goods oiled and ready to use right out of the box, bag or off the shelf. But for the last 10 yrs leather goods are extremely dry and stiff. So you must do the oiling and preserving that should have been done by the manufacturer and seller. I have a new barrel saddle that is soaking up pints of conditioner just to protect my investment. Weaver seems to own a monopoly on equestrian leather goods so I find myself conditioning all of their leather products before I can even use it. Better factor in the cost of good conditioner to protect your investment otherwise be prepared for dry leather to crack or tear!

Sturdy
We use this set of hobbles to hobble train all the training horses that come to our ranch. They have been used on Thoroughbred's, Appaloosa's, Quarter Horses and smaller Draft breeds. Easy to use and durable

These are well worth the money! It arrived soft and pliable, very easy to put on and take off. No hassle and it's strong!
