Just OKAY
Used this on my lathe and works okay. The center pin has some play so there are concentricity issues, but not enough to render it unusable. For smaller holes it should be okay.

A little sloppy but works as intended
The pin is a little sloppy which does not affect the use for a Tap but was also trying to use to center on the hole

works great
Works great. I used on a lathe, threading, 16 blind holes 3/4 deep with a 1/4-20 tap. I wish the spring loaded tip was longer.

The spring loaded tap is a handy tool.
I enjoy using this tap, I do some wood working projects and metal working too, it comes in very handy during my home shop activities. If there are others doing this sort of work don’t overlook this nice tool.

Weak spring
I guess it'll work for centering but the spring is very weak. I don't think it'll help start the threads, especially with a forming tap. Not worth keeping.

Does the trick!
This does what it's supposed to, no issues. I use it on my wood lathe with an el-cheapo Irwin 1/4" tap holder and get great results. Good spring strength.

Not top quality but it works fine.
I bought this for a guy at work but secretly I wanted to see what kind of quality this was for such a cheap price. Well as you can expect it was not B&S quality like the one I have in MY toolbox. In fact, I don't think they even ground the small shank. It slides in and out like a turned shank. But hey, it is on center and holds the tap just fine. That's all you need - isn't it? I told him to keep it and his cash. It was worth my curiosity.

Non-reversable tap guide.
Note - this can only be used for female taps - the other side of the guide pin has no pocket to accept male taps - it's milled completely flat.

Cheap but hit and miss with manufacturing flaws.
Bought 2 of these together. One works just fine "perfectly good", however the other is drilled off at an angle where the pin is located and the pin gets jammed badly once it's been depressed about half way. Female of reversible side is flat as opposed to concave of some tap followers.

ok
There is a pointed end but the other end is flat, not inside cone made. I had to make my own. NOW, this is a question for Amazon: why so much wrapping????

Misleading ad description
NOT "Reversible tension pin for male and female hole centering or tapping " as advertised. Will not work with taps that do not have a center hole.
Scritto da: Max Green
Not Reversible
"Reversible tension pin for male and female hole centering or tapping" - doesn't have a female hole, rendering this tool useless.

Make tapping a breeze
Every small machine shop of hobbyist needs a proper tap guide. Setting this up in a drill press or mill makes tapping that much quicker, accurate, and care free
