Purchased for a Disabled Family Member....Glad I did!
This is a very sturdy handrail. I mounted it at an angle, by using a wedge-cut piece of wood. I did this so that it could be used as a handrail for the two steps leading into the house from the garage. This is a very well-built handrail. My only complaint would be why did they put the toilet paper holder so far back on the handrail. IF you were to use this in a bathroom you'd have to reach way back to get to the tp. They should mount that tp bar near the front of the rail, away from the fold-away joint. The fold-away joint is awesome, you just lift up on the rail and it will lock into place, should you ever need to use that feature.

Mixed satisfaction
This appears designed for a toilet but I used it at the end of my clawfoot tub and shower surround. It was the only option that worked. Installation was horrendous. My carpenter advised that he needed to reinforce the portion of the wall where this VERY heavy bar was being installed. The end result was pretty ugly. When it is down it has a bit of a wobble but does provide the support that I need to safely enter and exit the tub. I can also reach out while showering. A plus is that when I leave it down I can hang my tub mat on it. When is folds up it doesn't stay exactly perpendicular to the wall, it hangs out at a bit of an angle. I wish it fold both up, as it does, and could then be flattened against the wall. Hoping to renovate our bathroom and install it more aesthetically.

Bothers me that it doesn't store straight up. My elderly mother cannot lower it herself.
It is very sturdy and was fairly easy to install. It does not rest flush up against the wall, tho, and it bothers my OCD. Another issue is my elderly mom cannot get it to come down on her own. Otherwise, great value and good product.

A Very Convenient Shower Chair
This chair is perfect if your shower is large enough. Unfortunately, I installed it in our small shower and, even when folded up, it did not leave enough room for me to shower. It projects about 3 1/2 to 4" from the wall when it is folded up. It worked great for my disabled wife when folded down. If my shower was 12" longer it would be perfect. I had to remove it and use a free-standing shower chair which is a pain in the neck to put in and take out of the shower, depending on who is showering. The instructions say that at least one (I think) of the eight screws should screw into a wall stud. There are eight screws and I did not screw any of the eight into a stud. They are all screwed into the provided inserts that are installed in holes that I drilled in the ceramic tiles. The eight screws are all in shear with very little, if any, tension on the screws. After the installation I sat on the chair and gave it some robust load tests. It was solid as a rock.

Good for the price.
For the money (it was the cheapest folding bar available) this is a good buy. It is a wide so there is no way you will catch a stud for all 6 holes. I have three in a stud on one side and three in the wall. The only drawback it that I would have used different wall anchors then the ones provided. They don't have a lip to catch on the drywall, and don't expand once in the wall. A little late now to pull them out and re-do. Will probably get some bigger screws to get them to catch. I was in a rush and didn't think about it till I was done and the screws didn't tighten down all the way. I don't doubt it will still hold someone who's just trying to brace to stand up from the toilet, but I wouldn't trust it to hold the full 250 lbs as it is rated. So the moral is, don't sit or stand on it like an idiot, and it's fine. Also, it does not fold straight vertical. It angles out a bit, maybe 10 degrees, not much-- just don't think it will be straight up and down as pictured. To unlock from vertical you pull up and out and it folds down.

Not Used For The Purpose It Was Designed For
I bought this to use in another capacity other than what it was designed to do. I needed a rail to assist in getting in and out of our in floor indoor jacuzzi. The rails on Amazon were all over $200, so I thought I would try this. I installed it beside our Jacuzzi by drilling into the floor and screwing the rail vertically with the supplied screws. It works well but the folding feature is a bit of an issue as I found I could not tighten it sufficiently to keep it from folding, so I have to be careful not to lean on it so it will fold. This is not a problem with the designed use and if I were using it as a toilet support I would rate it at 5. It is well built and would serve the original purpose well, I just wish it could be tightened to prevent to folding, or somehow locked in position.

I DIDN'T USE IT IN THE BATHROOM I USED IT AS A HANDLE FOR FRIENDS TO STEP UP INTO OUR GAZEBO!
I LOVED IT CAUSE WE ARE SENIORS AND SO ARE OUR FRIENDS AND MY HUBBY HAS PARKINSON SO HE NEEDS HELP STEPPING UP INTO OUR GAZEBO AND I LOOKED ALL OVER AND THIS SOLVED MY PROBLEM. INSTEAD OF SCREWING THE BASE INTO A WALL I SCREWED IT ONTO THE DECK RIGHT BY THE DOOR OF IT. I FIGURE OUT CRAZY THINGS WHEN I WANT TO DO SOMETHING AND HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS AND I AM 82. AND A WOMAN. HAHA LINDA

Peu encombrant et fait robuste. Seulement il a un peu de lousse de gauche à droite, mais cela n'empêche en rien le fonctionnement sécuritaire. Pour le prix je suis très satisfaite.

nose si es pk la pintura es de mala calidad o esta mal pintado pero seme esta caiendo puntura del anclkaje de una pata a la estructura i se esta pudriendo el hierro... i eso que no tiene ni 6 meses... i no le cae la agua directa ni nada . en fin no es una mala compra solo recomiendo antes de ponerlo volverlo a pintar con mejor pintura

Muy útil para mí puesto que yo tengo una pierna y me resultaba difícil hacerlo con una silla de plástico además de qué la instalación fue sencilla
