Not bad for the price

Just pulled them out the box and tried them out. Not bad for the price I guess. Ive purchased better quality for around the same price. They fit and are pretty comfortable. Haven't hit the bag with them yet to see how they feel under impact. There's two things that I don't like about them. 1, I don't like how thin the padding over the knuckles are. With these being sparring gloves, I would expect more padding to be over the knuckles. And 2, when I close my fist, I don't like how far the edge hangs out over my hands. Doesn't seem like it'll fully protect my hand when I punch. And it looks like it could even poke/cut my sparring partner. Maybe they just need to be broken in, so we'll see

Good gloves for the price...

The title says most of it. I'm not particularly a fan of this style of glove, but it gets the job done and does make this sort of sporting use possible with its design. I think the finger holds would give pretty quickly over heavy use, but considering the price, its well worth it. You get a good amount of padding with pretty good fit and coverage. Support is decent and it works well. I didn't notice anything that would concern me regarding overall quality. Seems to me that these make great sparring gloves. The padding is probably a little stiffer than some might be used to, depending on what sort of sport you're coming from, but it does the job well. You can land pretty heavy blows without going too nuts, and the soft and rounded features of it prevented any cuts or otherwise so long as a fist is maintained. Since these do nothing to curl the fingers outside of its shape, it is possible for incidents in that regard, but if you're worried about that, then you're probably not going to use this style of glove anyway. A good starter glove or general use glove. Your mileage may vary depending on your training style, but for the price, its tough not to try them.

I am using these mostly for striking martial arts rather than MMA as I am still just working on grappling and locks in arnis jitsu. Once I broke the gloves in they have been working well for me. They are much cooler than gloves that cover the entire hand. Enough padding for the large amounts of sparing I do. I also use them when sparing in modern arnis. They are flexible enough that I can hold my rattan sticks or padded sticks and offer enough padding to take controlled blows from sticks when sparring. My only word of caution with these gloves is that because my fingers stick out past the gloves I have to make sure I am making a good fist when sparing in the striking form. Straight punching it isn't a big deal, but when doing simultaneous attacks (the block becomes the attack) it is important to make sure my hand is closed prior to making contact especially if the contact is near the eyes.

The best bang for the buck, except...

The best bang for the buck, except for the way the pinky hole is placed. Is just akward that is at the same height that all others finger holes. Other than that. For 25$ those things are amazing. Super secure wrist lock, which provide strong wrist support (even without wraps). Decent amount of padding (albeit somehow stiff, but I'm guessing it just need some break in time). Ok materials, that seems to be strong enough to withhold some abuse without worrying about destroying your 80$+ training gloves. Overall, I wish I could give this product 4.5 starts; as it is a very, very, very pair of gloves for the price. On side note, I'm a 5'11/200 lb guy; with (I think) average hand size, and large was just perfect for me.

Great bang for the buck gloves.

These gloves are great for the price. Way better than the similarly priced everlast gloves. I do wish the pinky portion was moved down lower than the other fingers but it's not a huge deal and is still comfortable and the glove feels sturdy overall. Would buy again in a heartbeat. I have small hands and the regular fits perfect (I'm 5'6"). I chose these over boxing gloves so I can easily jump rope and do push ups while I train.

quick note on sizing

These a fine gloves and I enjoy using them for sparring. I'm not so sure about theb16oz claim but they have great padding in a condensed area. They are comfortable and they work well. BUT, you really really need to order up at least one size. I'm pretty consistently regular / medium in gloves. I purchased the regular and couldn't put them on - they were too small. The large just fit me; I could have gone with the x-large but I'm hoping they'll break in and get a little more comfortable. For reference - I'm a 5'10" guy. I'm guessing the regular would be good for kids or an average women?

Overall good, can take beatings on the heavy bag, can be used to spar, but there is definitely a probleme with the pinky, it makes it a little unconfortable when hitting. I would recomend to everyone at this price. I'd rate 5 stars if the pinky strap would be right. Combat Sports always make good stuff. Je recommanderais à tout le monde à vrai dire. Ils peuvent être utilisés sur le sac comme en sparring. Le seul hic est l'attache du petit doigt, qui est un peu mal placée, un peu trop grande, ce qui rend les coups un peu inconfortables à certains moments. Sinon je recommanderais à tout le monde, Combat Sports font toujours des produits durables.

Wrist angle is too high

When put on, the knuckles are oriented too high up on the glove, so that punching encourages an unnatural form. Also, the thumb strap is inconvenient. Lower quality gloves tend to have issues conforming with human body angles, and this seems to be the case. However, I purchased this for $9 on sale, so it was a great deal still. Durability is good - I use this as my heavy bag glove and I have no issues with damage.

Pinky finger slot too far from other fingers

Pinky finger slot is too far from the rest of the fingers. If you have a deformed hand and your pinky is far spaced from your other finger this is perfect for you!
