Works perfectly - if you TURN ON THE GAS SLOWLY.
This works great. I've loved using it with my Big Buddy and a 5gal propane tank. The important thing to understand is that you must turn on the gas tank's valve very slowly to avoid tripping a pressure valve built into the hose. The valve can be easily reset by tapping the tank end of the hose on the ground a couple of times, but if you don't know this trick you'll go nuts trying to figure out why you can get your pilot light to light but the gas won't flow enough to start the heater itself. Turn on gas very slowly, tap to reset the valve, great product once you know the trick!

Hope this works like it says
Bought this as a gift and it’s the first winter of use so don’t know yet if this house really works like they say or not but I sure hope it does

Works fine for now.
This hose is high quality and supposed to avoid the necessity of an inline filter. We'll see after a few months of use. Be sure to purge the air out of the line before connecting to your heater. Connect to the 20 pound tank, then open the valve until propane starts blowing out, close the valve and thread securely onto the heater inlet. I'm sure Mr. Heater would like to say this but the EPA would probably shut them down if they did. Now the heater pilot should start after a couple of sparks. Without purging the line, it will take many sparks to get the pilot to light. I didn't purge the line and had a problem getting the pilot to light, but once it started the pilot lights after two or three sparks.

"Will save you money in the long run."
I have small propane Mr. heater for our tent. 1lbs can only last 4 hours on low. don't like getting up in the middle of night to change tank. plus 1lb. can $6 per can. 15 lb. tank. 22 bucks. and put the big tank outside of your tent. love it!

Stopped working after 2 tanks reason too much pressure on hose
No flow to heater. The reason I just found was there is too much pressure to the heater. The hose shuts it down. Simple fix slowly turn on the gas until you hear it. Then that's it. Do t open it more. The tank pressure is too high for the set limits on the hose. It's a safety thing

Thoughts on the Mr. Heater plasticizer-free hose for Mr. Buddy propane heater
Used this hose to connect a 20 lb. propane tank to my Mr. Buddy heater. Have only used this hose for a short period of time but seems to work well. The hose is supposed to prevent any leaching of rubber hose material to the Mr. Buddy heater components which has the potential to cause the heater to fail. Hopefully the hose prevents this potential problem from occurring in the long term.

Beware when buying this item
Bought this item for my Mr Heater Buddy. Tried with three full bottle of calor gas and each time same problem occurred as follows. Pilot lights ok and stays on but moment you select heater position one or two the pilot light goes out and heater shuts down. Can’t believe that they are selling these as working item when clearly they don’t.
