Replacement for existing which lasted 18 years

Easy to change out Thought it was chrome in the picture but was actually satin stainless so it doesn’t match the old faucet but it works great

Good Price!

Bought this to replace the spray head on kitchen faucet that had a defective diverter from spray to stream. This one works perfectly. One from our local plumbing supply house was $120 more expensive. One note: this did not have an o-ring that was needed to make a seal from the hose to the spray head; had to get one from Home Depot; still worth it.

Kitchen sinks like new again

These Grohe pull-out spray heads replaced 12 year old units on our kitchen sinks. The faucets work like new. Very happy that I can get just the parts I need to fix the old faucets.

Saved me some $$

Finding this replacement part for my Grohe LadyLux faucet saved me the cost of having to purchase an entirely new kitchen faucet. It was super easy to install. You pay a little extra for an authentic Grohe part, but again, not as much as you'd pay for a new faucet.

Don't buy the cheap one. It'll leak and then it'll break when you tighten it. This doesn't leak and works good.

Back to that O Ring

On the end of the retractable 3/8" coil steel hose/ spray head connection point (NOT on this new part you are buying) you will see a little rubber 1/4" or so O ring, after you unscrew and detach this hose from the old spray head. Looks fine right? NO! Looks can be deceiving! Even though it looks perfectly OK it needs to be removed and replaced with the O Ring Grohe makes (Part 01224000) and which is available for $7 on this Grohe spray head replacement Amazon website as an add-on. It must be purchased because whether you know it or not the old O Ring is worn out and will not seal the joint properly. Once you install the new O Ring by removing the old one with a very sharp pointed object like a knife end, and carefully slip the new O Ring over the hose end into the groove it is seated in, you will 'feel' the new O ring 'seal' the joint as you slip the sprayer head onto the end of the water hose. IMPORTANT! Failure to replace the O Ring will result in a leak at this joint that will not be immediately evident, as the water will leak down the hose and eventually pool under the sink out of sight! Believe me, I know, as I was awoken by my wife at 4am who, while starting her cleaning chores, noticed that a large pool of water had accumulated under all the stuff stored under the sink. Guess who she woke up to get it fixed!!!! Buy the O Ring and like another guy said be careful to keep the hose from slipping back into the faucet assembly as you replace the O Ring and sprayer head! Teflon plumber's tape wound around the old O Ring is no substitute for the new O Ring. I tried that on the old O ring and that did not help. By the way, the new sprayer head has a little cylindrical shaped strainer that is loose in the package. This little part slips into the sprayer head with the flat part facing towards the water supply hose and the pointed end towards the sprayer nozzle head.

Buy the O ring too

This is a more recent review since the faucet head no longer comes with loose parts. My Grohe faucet is the original one with the spring around the hose instead of the weight. I needed to replace both the faucet head and the hose. The plastic filter was seated in the faucet head when I took it out of the box and there were no loose parts. Thanks to the reviews here, I also purchased a new O ring. I first tested the new faucet head without replacing the O ring and found that it dripped a bit. I unscrewed the head, dropped in the new O ring, and that took care of the drip. The faucet head works perfectly and seats nicely in the old faucet. It’s not an exact duplicate and not made of the same materials as the original, but it does the trick if you don’t want to buy and install an entire new faucet. I didn’t. Yeah it’s expensive but the finish is a fairly good match. (I bought the Real Steel finish that is close enough to the faucet’s matte-like appearance.). Buy the Grohe O ring. And if you use the old spring on the hose, don’t let it get tangled, lol.

Fitted Just Fine!

So many have said about it being changed from the original. I never found this to be the case. Soon after the package arrived I fitted the new one in just 5 minutes. When taking off the old one I noticed the plumber had used ptfe tape, so I quickly removed the old, put on some new ptfe tape, tightened it up. Job done!

Close match / Needs a little love installing

1) I have brushed nickel, this is close but not a perfect match. It's sort of like stainless but closer to brushed nickel. 2) The elusive O-Ring, It does not come with one and you need something to stop it from leaking at the joint and trickling down the back and under your sink. As noted by others, I used teflon tape at about 50 cents a roll at any Home Depot or hardware store of your choice. I put 4 wraps on the male end of the existing hose, covering the existing O-ring. This did the trick. 3) Overall fit, this is a perfect fit for my 2004 Grohe kitchen faucet. 4) Install, this is very easy. a) Pull out the faucet and you'll see a gnerelled hose end at the back of the faucet head. b) Unscrew hose end with no tools needed. If it's too tight, try a dry cloth for a better grip. c) Once the head is removed, dry off the hose end and apply the teflon tape where the O ring is located on the male end. Go slow so the tape doesn't fold on you. You want even wraps. e) Insert the hose end into the faucet head. f) Thread the gnerlled hose end onto the faucet head. g) Test, Before sliding the hose back into place, turn on water (holding the head above the rest of the faucet and directing water into the sink) and check there are no leaks running back down the hose. h) If there are leaks, go back to step "c". If there are no leaks, you are done!

A good replacement pull-out spray

This is the second replacement of the pull-out spray handle for our Grohe kitchen faucet which exceeds 20 years of age. I was pleased to see that replacement pull-outs are still available. These are less expensive and easier to get than they were a few years ago. This replacement part was easy to install. I also changed the original hose and its quick release. Do not use tools to remove or reinstall the hose to the quick release or to the pull-out as they can break easily. Tie everything by hand.
