I purchased this to upgrade from my old Gregory Whitney (which I put through the ringer) and I am super impressed by the upgrade
Man.... Gregory knows how to make a pack! I purchased this to upgrade from my old Gregory Whitney (which I put through the ringer) and I am super impressed by the upgraded build quality (Whitney was designed in 2001, Denali in 2014). This pack just keeps surprising me with compartments and features. It feels absolutely PERFECT on my back the way it rests and I can't wait till I get to take it out tomorrow for 50 miles over 4 days. I'll update this post with more feedback as I take more trips. Update 11/9/16 My first trip was 50 miles in 4 days through Yosemite NP. I have to say how much I love the versatility of this pack! There are so many different clips and pockets and zippers and attachments. I really feel like I could do anything with it. The material and quality is absolute top-notch. I put it through hell as I even had to slide down the snow-covered mountain on my pack and side to get down safely. It also feels spectacular on my back, which is important while I carry 80 pounds in it over 19+ miles in a day. More to come!

great design for a large backpack
This is a great backpack. It's huge but compresses down to be a reasonable size. The cut is narrow for tight spaces, but not too tall either. It's narrower than a MOLLE II pack. The drawstrings are made for big bulky gloves. You just grab and pull, no fiddling around with release buttons. The secondary pouch in the back can be divided or not. The front reinforcement will come in handy. The buckles are color coded so you can quickly find where to attach instead of fumbling around for the right pair: males are black and females are light grey. All the bits and pieces you need for in-use adjustments appear to be pretty well thought out. There's extra room in the waist band if you're wearing extra layers.

Very good pack
So far it appears to be the best pack I've had to date. Perhaps I'm behind the times, but the buckles don't seem as stout as they used to be. Maybe the technology is that much better that they can make seemingly substandard buckles (for the waist and the compression straps) out last the older, stouter fastenings that I'm used to. The fit is excellent, the design is excellent, but I'm a pinch wary of the fastening systems. Dunno if Sampsonite (the company that owns Gregory nowadays) is cutting corners, or what. Time will tell.

Comfortable
Great pack. Bought it for when my boys go backpacking with me and have to carry extra stuff, such as a raft etc. It also serves as my expedition pack for 1-2 weekers up in the mountains. Fits all you need in it

Personally Disapointed in Design - Returned It
The media could not be loaded. first of all, I live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. There’s always high probability of rain when I am backpacking. That means that in the morning I could be taking down a wet tent. And there’s no way that I’m going to put my tent inside of a backpack. I’m always going to have to count on carrying it on the outside. This pack has absolutely no facilitation for tying a tent on to the bottom of it. So I’m not going to be putting a wet tent inside my backpack! Secondly, I found the frame protruding up out of the back of the pack and being so straight up that I found it pushing against the back of my neck when I had that pack properly fitted to my body. The other thing was the carrying handle was constantly rubbing against the back of my head. That is going to be really uncomfortable to me all the time. Thirdly, the hip pads are hard and have no give. As tight as I could cinch the waist belt to my hips I found that there was no contour/give to the hip pad. There’s no way that I’m going to enjoy wearing his pack when it’s full . Just a followup - So, after being dissatisfied with pretty much every 90-100 litre pack on the USA market because to me they either lacked ability to carry a wet tent on the outside, or decent compartments inside to seperate wet gear from dry gear and get items out without unpacking the pack; or comfortable hip-central backpacking - I went on a search that led me to the Berghous 100 litre Atlas - a tactical pack that is standard issue to British and NATO troops - made and shipped from Finland - and it’s a beauty! Intended for world and battlfield deployment, long marches and heavy gear - this pack is no joke. I love the way it fits on my body, water resistent and compartments galore. It’s the pack every major brand should be aspiring to follow and feature as their flagship pack. I’d be happy if it was grey or black, but the army green is what it is. I hope the other manufacturers read this and pay attention. Over and out.
