Be sure to check the dimensions of this popcorn machine. It was way smaller than anticipated. Worked well for a family movie night.

Nice little popcorn machine
I love this thing easy setup super fast popcorn and it's small enough to sit on a mini fridge and have space for other stuff one 2.5 oz bag of popcorn makes a large movie theater tub of popcorn it's pretty cool I'd let my kids use it it's so easy

So cute!
Bought this for a birthday present to go in my husband’s barn office and he loved it. Easy to set up. We bought the pre made kernels with butter and it was perfect. For some reason ours didn’t have popcorn bags with it. I assume those were just forgot about, but otherwise it’s great.

Quality Issue
I purchased this machine and truly enjoyed it. I read A LOT of reviews on different machines and opted for this one because of its positive reviews. After about 10 uses, I found a screw in my popcorn. As I inspected, I discovered it came from the roof of the machine. I thought I could screw it back in, but it wouldn't "catch" on anything. I also noticed another screw coming out. Sadly, I was just barely outside of my 30 day purchase window from Amazon. I have contacted the company and will update my review based on their response. It could be that I got a lemon, or it could be an issue with overall quality. I should say that the machine still works, though who knows what came loose and how being loose will affect its functionality in the long run. Hopefully the company will replace the machine as the warranty states. Before the issue, I would have given the machine 5 stars. As far as functionality, it worked great, and I was generally pleased with it. For the price I paid, I wasn't expecting a high quality metal machine, and I didn't get one. The machine is plastic all around, and the kettle seems nicely constructed (which is the part that you really need to be well-made for a lasting machine). The amount of popcorn it produces is perfect for my wife and me, though you'd probably want to make several batches for more than 2 people. My recommendation would be to use coconut oil and popcorn salt - tastes very similar to theater popcorn! Delicious! **UPDATE** The company got back with me in a reasonable amount of time (later in the day) and emailed directions on how to take the lid of the machine off without damaging anything. What I found when I took it off was that one of the screws was completely missing (there are supposed to be 4 screws holding in the motor). The missing screw did not have a spare nut in the housing, so my guess is simply poor craftsmanship. I contacted the company again requesting that an extra screw and nut be sent. **2ND UPDATE** The "fix" Great Northern sent was helpful. Basically you use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the front logo of the machine (do this at the base of the logo piece so as not to damage it). Then remove two screws that are revealed, and finally use the flathead screwdriver to pry off the lid (again, be careful). Once inside, you can clearly see how the screws hold down the motor. GN sent me replacement screws upon my request because one was missing. I haven't had a chance to go to a hardware store to buy a lock washer to keep the nut from coming loose - it seems like this could be a problem in the future. I've probably used the machine 3 dozen plus times. The popcorn still tastes awesome and the machine runs pretty well! I clean the kettle every 3-4 poppings as suggested, and it hasn't had any problems beyond what I've shared here. I still only give it 3 stars due to the quality issue I mentioned.

A good little affordable machine.
The housing is plastic and plexiglass which I knew buying it just letting you the reader know if you are debating which machine to buy like I did. I chose this one because it’s affordable and the pan is deep for a unit this size, which is pretty important. This unit does require just a little bit of assembly which for most people is very easy. Why would you want a popcorn maker when there’s microwave popcorn? Well it’s the only way you are going to be able to get the authentic taste of movie theater popcorn in your home. You will need the oil, popcorn, and flavorcol and the oil is a specific brand that actually tastes of butter, and you won’t get that flavor in the store bought garbage at your local grocery store. This thing makes awesome popcorn. However I am skeptical as to how long this thing will hold up. The light bulb immediately blew out in dirt use but a quick trip to the hardware store resulted in me having a 2-pack of similar, slightly lower watt bulbs on hand. I can’t give this five stars because it’s not a high end machine, but for home use and two-serving batches this is a good deal. If you are going to want to make more popcorn then you better go bigger. This works nicely for me for now!

Makes movie nights more fun
The media could not be loaded. This popcorn maker has clear instructions and is easy to set up. It even comes with a plastic container that fits perfectly inside the machine to catch the popcorn as it drops. It is small enough to fit on an open shelf in our livingroom. It has an art deco design style that gives it vintage flare but doesn't compete with other looks. It makes perfect single serving portions that taste just like movie theater popcorn. It heats up quickly and makes the popcorn in just a couple of minutes. You can make enough popcorn for the entire family in less than 10 minutes. All my nieces and nephews love to watch as it pops the corn. The clean up isn't too difficult but the parts cannot be submerged in water so it cannot be soaked or put in the dishwasher. It can be a little tricky to get all the cooked oil off of the inside of the popping pan but as long as you clean it after each movie night it shouldn't be a problem. It has definitely added a little extra magic to family movie nights. Now we have no reason to pay to go to the movies since we can just stream something on our projector and enjoy from the comfort of our couch complete with movie theater popcorn.

Great for 1 person
Works great. Doesn't take up much space. It's definitely a machine for 1 person. Do not use more than a 2.5 pkg of kernels. I put 2 packs in and 1/2 the kernels were thrown out before popping. My fault. Trying to save time and not have to pop 2 separate bags.

Plexi-glass cracks around lever and handle and permanently gets discolored.
This Popcorn maker does make good popcorn but has some major issues concerning the plexiglass they use .. Pros: 1: Make good popcorn. 2: Looks cute and does not take up a whole lot of space. 3: Good instructions and came with some attachments such as spoon and bags. 4: Fairly sturdy with one exception ( read con's ) 5: The tray they provide is good and fits well to gather up the popcorn when it done. Cons: 1: a)On my unit the plexi-glass cracked from on side to the other horizontally where the lever is to empty the pot. b) the plexi glass also starting having a crack around the handle where you pull to open the door. Now I am an adult with my wife ( no kids ) and we where careful with the unit and it took only 1 week for the cracks to appear the one on the lever side started the second time we used it and after 7 times it was already from side to side and the side opened!!. 2: The pot is not large enough ( Width wize ) I would have made the pot large rather than taller as its a hassle to fit in your corn and oil. 3: Lid would not stay up. even with the machine motor not running the lid did not stay up so once again putting in the oil was a pain as it take one hand to hold the oil and the other to open the lid in a machine that' already small to begin with, so fitting both hands in there is somewhat awkward IMHO. Overall. Until the company changes its plexi-glass to real glass I would not recommend this product. Note: However I would look at its other models and see if they have real glass or not, if it does have real glass I would certainly consider it as the rest of the unit was good.

better than what I expect
We bought this popcorn machine for our weekly movie night at home. It's easy to operate and easy to clean, the only thing I don't like is its plastic sides. This machine is a good size for our small kitchen counter. Overall, we are happy with its size, functions, price.

not a serious popcorn maker, however....
this being said, it's a fun addition to the home theatre. The popcorn tastes good but it makes a very small amount at a time so it's not that practical for even two popcorn lovers. It seems to be well made and looks good, the interior light is a nice touch. It's not that expensive so if you're looking for some nice home theatre ambiance as well as good tasting popcorn, it may be worth your time.

Christmas gift
This is a Christmas present for a single mom and her boys that have movie nights and their popcorn machine broke. They will love this, it looks great, sturdy and looks easy to use.
