Machine is great, but do not get the popcorn on line

I bought this as a gift for a birthday present. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best it was an 11. Took my time putting it together and it took me about 90 minutes. I did have trouble finding the directions. They were in the plastic bag with the free popcorn bags that came with the machine. Now I ordered the popcorn and when we tried it, well it was close to being stale. Bought some at a local company and it was on like donky kong. Fresh, hot, popcorn, just like at the movies. So glad I chose this machine. If you love popcorn like my family does get this one. You will be glad you did.

Have used this at home weekly - Have really enjoyed it! I get many compliments on this.

Putting it together wasn't hard. As you can see in the picture, it doesn't take up much space. The biggest challenge was the bottom part of the storage cabinet. Other than that, The machine looks nice and is good value for the money spent on a ten ounce kettle with stand setup. The old maids kernel drawer is is plus, and the additional storage is nice. The only thing I could see improvement as far as how the machine is made, is that when I clean the kettle, I have not been able to get the top assembly flappers off (2nd Picture shows reference to "Flappers"). As a result, I have to use caution so that I dont get cut by the sharp edges of them. When your oil is heating, make sure you see steam on the glass before adding the kernels. This will result in crispier popcorn :) All that said, I do not regret the purchase as I use it alot and it has been an enjoyment!

great fluffy popcorn

I would have preferred bike wheels, these wheels cant travel far, The nuts at the sides loosen easily. But apart from that the machine works like a charm

I absolutely love this popcorn machine!

I have owned a popcorn machine with a 4 oz kettle for 10 or so years! It is always worked great. However, I noticed some of the unpopped kernels get blasted out. So I thought I would order a bigger kettle popcorn machine. This one fit the bill perfectly! It pops the 4 ounce packets perfectly! The 8 oz packet very nicely with little to no waste. The 10oz popcorn packets pop okay in this unit but you will have a little bit of spillage. One thing I did notice on this unit was that my older unit could empty out the popcorn a little easier since it would tip almost completely over when you're emptying! This unit seems to only be able to dump it to 90°! So sometimes if you left over kernels or popcorn crumbs remain in the kettle after dumping! So this one could use a slight modification to allow it to dump a little better! Other than that I don't think there's anything that could be improved on this machine! It's very nice especially when compared to my old 4 oz popcorn machine!

Great northern 10oz machine

I would definitely give this a 5 star rating, but the only issue I had was that when I assembled the machine the bolt patterns didn’t match up. I called the manufacturer and they stated there’s nothing they can do, I would have to return it to Amazon because they don’t stock parts in the USA. If you see how it’s packaged, you’ll definitely not want to send it back over one little bolt!! I just drilled it out and it worked fine. Just upset that the Manufacturer doesn’t stock parts!! Besides that, this thing is absolutely awesome!! It’s easy to clean and operate!!

Check clearance - metal shavings

Stirrer in pot was too close to the bottom of the pot and ended up scraping and producing a fine metal dusting while making popcorn. I cleaned everything before use and was able to find the source of the metal pretty quickly, but it wasn't easy to adjust the stirring arm. The metal bar is very hard, but you can slightly bend the bracket to allow enough clearance. Aside from that, metal stamped pieces are fairly flimsy, but they do the job. If it weren't for that problem, it would have been better rated.

Great Popcorn Machine!!

The media could not be loaded. The machine arrived much sooner than promised. We were off to a great start. I loved that it came with a large scoop, measuring scoops, paper popcorn bags and three plastic reusable popcorn cups. Everything is very well packet in Styrofoam and plastic covering so no chance of the glass getting scratched. One reason I chose this machine was because of the glass wall construction instead of plastic plexi glass. I carefully unpacked each part and unwrapped them. Fabulous so far. The one thing I notice right away was that there were no assembly instructions what so ever. Oh well, How hard can it be right? I wish we could give half stars because I would only take off one half star due to the fact there are no assembly instructions at all and one of the support pieces was not threaded correctly for the bolt to go into. I tried several different bolts, but none of them would thread at all. I'm hoping it wont be to difficult of a fix. So for now, my machine is set in place in the corner of the room and we will just be mindful until the bolt issue is resolved. The assembly of the actual popper was easy enough to figure out but the cart was another story. I tried to find a YouTube video but there was nothing for the 10oz popcorn machine and it is slightly different than the video I found for the 4 and 8oz machines. I had twelve bolts in before I realized something was not right. It was a giant pain to remove the bolts because I had tightened them really well. I eventually figured out what needed to be done, but a simple page of instructions would have saved an extra hour of frustration and would have earned the fifth star. Now that it is (almost) completely together, I am thrilled with this machine. After wiping the inside of the kettle and inner walls of the machine down with a damp cloth, we popped the first batch using the premeasured packs. We played it safe and thru out the first batch, noticing a small amount of black grease on a few pieces of popped corn. The next batch popped perfectly!!! The aroma and taste were exactly that of a professional movie theater. It doesn't feel like it will collapse but it's a little wobbly. However in all fairness, that missing support that I can not bolt in could potentially be the reason. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I think we will get many years of use from this machine. The seller shipped promptly and get's an A+. Great Northern's score is an A- for not including assembly instructions for the cart and for missing the defective bolt threading on the support piece. Clearly a quality control issue. I

Best popper for a large family!!!

Best Christmas gift for the entire family! We have 5 kids so microwave popcorn takes FOREVER. This popper is adorable and works so well. Also super easy for my teens to use. I saw others say there was an issue with a missing hole for assembly but I didn't have that issue at all. It was pretty straight forward to assemble too!
