grates cheese like a champ
I've never had a big issue with your standard issue 4 sided cheese grater. I have owned a few of the single graters like this one but they have all been pretty cheap. This grater has one feature that really stood out to me and that is that it will grate going each direction rather than just one. I think this is a great idea and will have many benefits. You will grate your product faster and it will also be more consistent as you are not tearing up the surface when moving it back and forth. I know you should lift it up when grating but I feel like most people don't do this. This grater is very sharp and had no problems at all handling any cheese I threw at it but that was mostly medium cheese like a good cheddar or colby jack, things like that. I have not had a chance to try a harder cheese yet. It seems like it is a good size for potatoes if you wanted to make hash browns. It has a little hidden feature that took me a bit to notice. Half of the tip is silicone or some type of rubber, it sticks to things a lot better than the plastic so makes grating a little easier. It still slides on my counter and even on a glass surface but not that much. The one thing I really dislike is I would have liked to see more metal used. The grating part is just a sheet of metal attached to plastic. Where it connects to the handle is just plastic and I don't like that, especially for the price which at this time is almost twenty bucks. I guess I just expected a more robust product in general when the price is so high. It isn't bad quality but the material choice isn't the greatest. I feel like at some point this is going to break where it attaches to the handle when you are grating something. I also would have liked to see some more grating options on this or perhaps another grater included. This works wonderfully if you need the exact size it is.

Nice sturdy grater that cuts in both directions.
This is a nice grater. I get a little tired of having to drag out our box grated all the time, when all I want are some curls of parmesan, for example. The box grater is a challenge to clean, but this grater is a breeze. It produces nice strips/curls of cheese, and the blades cut both directions, which makes it twice as quick to use as our box grater that only grates in one direction. The handle is padded and very comfortable, and the inclusion of a blade guard is helpful when the grater is stored in a drawer with other implements. It's a sturdy device, and it takes to being washed in a dishwasher with no problems. We like it a lot!

Just stick with the Parmesan cheese
I’ve found this grater is best used with block parmessan cheese. I thought it would be useful for grating orange peels for orange zest, but it merely clung to the grater and then is was difficult to clean afterwards. Same with other cheeses. The cheese sticks in the sides of the holes making it difficult to clean with just a dish cloth- I ended up using q tips to get it clean. The only food that grated well and cleaned easily was Parmesan cheese. It’s great for that! I do like the handle because it provides a firm grasp without causing any pain or discomfort in my wrist.

Feels good in the Hand, Grates Strangely
Ergonomically this is a great design- the palm swell really fills the hand and gives you a good grip, and the slight downwards angle actually helps you grate away from yourself. The design of the teeth on this, however, is a little odd. Rather than the normal rounded holes, these are square loops pressed out of the metal.... I've got mixed feelings. Perhaps my grating technique isn't correct, but in my experience these loops made me more grind my cheese like shakeable parmesan rather than cutting nice grated strips of cheese. Your mileage may vary.

Bi, sharp, soft foot, size
I've had a few graters that can be used in only one direction. This is the first I've tried that works both ways. It's faster. The blades are sharper than on other graters I've had, so it works for stuff my other graters don't handle well. The "soft foot" is a strip of silicone across the lower half of the end of the grater body. It grips the side of a bowl or flat surface to give more stability while grating. I wish the silicone covered the entire end, but it still works well for most applications at most likely angles. The business end is angled down slightly. Feels good and solid, like it should last. The cover fits securely, doesn't slide off unless you want it to. 11-3/4" long, 2-7/8" wide with cover (2-3/4" without), under 1-1/8" thick with cover (about 1" without). The metal part with the blades is just under 4-7/8" long. Dishwasher safe. Made in China.

Very quick to grate since it works on both the forward motion and backwards.
I like this grater. Since it slices on the backstroke as well as the forward stroke, it is really quick to grate things up. It is small enough to fit in a drawer so it’s more convenient than my box grater. It works really well with things that don’t stick to it, like apples, onions, and potatoes. It didn’t work that well with butter or cheese that got stuck to the underside and piled up there. It still grates them, but it isn’t so easy to get the food off the backside. The double sided holes make it tricky to clean manually since I don’t want to grate my brush or my sponge. It is dishwasher safe though so that it works out. Overall, it’s a really nice grater and is the one I reach for instead of my box grater now.

Wellmade, Sturdy Cheese Grater
This KitchenAid grater seems a little bit pricey, but it works well. The entire grater is sturdy and easy to hold. The metal part also feels sturdy enough that it doesn't feel like it will bend when using it (and hasn't yet). It grates cheese well (both harder cheese like Parmesan and softer cheese like mozzarella). Because the sharp edges go both ways, you can scrape the block of cheese back and forth, saving time and effort. It's relatively easy to handwash as well, you just have to make sure that you're not washing with the cloth against the sharp notches. I like being able to store it with the cover. It not only protects the blades, but also your hands when reaching into the kitchen drawer!

Diseño moderno
Muy bonito diseño . Y me gusta el material que no se ha rallado. Ya tengo unos meses con él y se ve como nuevo .
