highly visible, warm and comfy jacket

highly visible jacket on the road, keep me warm and comfy in a cold freezing and windy day. you would feel well protected. it makes a big different with a right fit jacket during a ride. saving your energy. although I sweat alot, I still feel comfortable when it is zipped up in a windy and cold day. highly recommended.

Ok not great

Not wind proof and not as warm as I expected

Well designed professional look Insulated Windproof cycle jacket.

Well designed windproof stylish long sleeve jersey made from nice look and feel Gore Windstopper fabric with a non-removable liner. This cycle jersey is good for temperatures in low 40's without the need for another layer. Combined with a thin base layer I stay comfortable down to mid 30's. No need for arm warmers with its uncomfortable tight non-slip arm-sleeve edges.

A first class jacket

This is a great windproof jacket when it's 30F - 50F. I layer it with a thermal shirt and a long-sleeve cycling jersey, and it keeps me very comfortable. The back pockets are deep and tight. Throw in the back zippered pocket for valuables, and you have everything you need to hold your items securely. The sleeves have nice cuffs at the end which do a great job covering the wrist area. The quality of the stitching and general workmanship are first rate. I'm 5'9", 155 lbs. and wear a 40" suit jacket. I ordered a Large (the tag on the inside says European Large, US Medium), and it fits just right ... nice and snug without being overly tight.

keeps you warm!

i had to write this review coming back from a 70mi ride with temperature in the mid 30s(F), and snow flurries for the last 40 miles. Though my hands, legs, and feet got wet and frozen, my body never felt cold (I was wearing a merino wool base layer + long sleeve pearl izumi quest thermal jersey underneath this jacket). Water didn't get through onto my kit underneath this jacket, and I credit that as the key feature of this jacket that kept me warm on this ride.

Euro sizes, so US, size up.

Great jacket, but if your not familiar with these Euro designed jackets, the sizing can be confusing. When they are marked as XL its a Euro size XL, US size Large for us well feed, muscular guys

Sizing

No question this is a good quality product. Ordering sizes are European, which are one size smaller than US ( a large Euro is a medium US, a medium Euro is a small US, etc)

Functional and Beautiful.

This jacket is stylish and comfort. I’m 176cm, 74kg. size L fits well for me.(This jacket is slim fit, so I recommended you to choose one size larger than the size of the clothes you usually wear.)

Superb!

I'm using it currently through autumn and it's great. Most of the time just t shirt underneath. With temperature going down to zero I'm adding extra t shirt but after few miles of biking I need to take one t shirt off as it's too warm. It's not fully waterproof but it kept me dry in most and light rain. Quality of product is excellent. Fully recommend!

A sickly yellow hue...

I liked this jacket before I read up on the process by which PTFE (the key component) is made, and some of the not-insignificant carcinogenic and environmental concerns that attend this process. I now see the fluorescent colour as more of a nuclear hue and confess that I shudder a little (partly from environmental self-recrimination, partly from fear for my own health) every time I wear it. I will not be buying this product again but then again. Shame on Gore for mass producing a product that causes such harm to people, animals and the environment.

(Fast) Perfekte Rennrad Jacke

Ich habe mir diese Jacke als Rennrad und Commuter Jacke zugelegt. Die Anforderungen waren hierbei: soll einen großen Temperaturbereich abdecken, eng anliegen zwecks Aero Performance und gleichzeitig Wind und Wasserabweisend sein. Die Gore C5 erfüllt meine Anforderungen zur Gänze. Der Temperaturbereich von 5 bis 15 Grad entspricht in etwa der Realität. Ich trage diese Jacke morgens bei frischen 5 Grad und Nachmittags bei 13-14 Grad. Ohne Baselayer ist es in der Früh die ersten Minuten sehr frisch - das legt sich aber nach kurzer Zeit. Am Nachmittag ist sie luftig genug und hält auch noch den störenden Wind ab. Regen macht ihr ebenfalls nichts aus. Passform ist für mich sehr gut. Ich trage Radkleidung Normal in Größe M bei 176 Größe und atheltischen 82kg. Diese Jacke habe ich in L bestellt. Sie sitzt zwar eng aber ich habe noch genug Platz für Baselayer oder Thermo Trikot. M wäre wahrscheinlich auch gegangen, wäre aber für Commuting zwecke wo ich öfter mal ein Shirt oder einen Pullover drunter anhabe vermutlich zu Eng. Die Größentabelle passt schon ganz gut. Alles in allem sehr zufrieden, nur die Taschen auf der Rückseite sind etwas schwer zu erreichen was aber in Anbetracht der restlichen Vorzüge verkraftbar ist. Sehr tolle 3 Jahreszeiten Jacke.

Es ist eine sehr gute Fahrradjacke

Seit 22 Jahren fahre ich mit mit einer Thermo-Radjacke der Protectionalini-Serie. Da bei dieser nach der langen Nutzungsdauer nun doch erste Schwachstellen auftreten, sollte etwas neues gekauft werden. Zu erfüllende Bedingungen waren Top-Isolation und auffällige Farben für Fahrten an dunklen Abenden in der kühleren Jahreszeit. Gesagt getan: Nach langer Recherche landete ich am 06.11.2020 bei dieser Jacke. Ich wiege 78 kg und bin knapp 1,80 m groß. Gewählt habe ich Größe L. Die Ärmel sind längenmäßig in Ordnung - gehen bis Mitte Hände. Die übrige Jacke sitzt anliegend. Das besondere ist ihr Schnitt. Wie auf dem Bild zu sehen ist, endet sie vorn etwa auf Höhe Hosenbund. Hinten ist sie länger. Sitzt man auf dem Rad nach vorn gebeugt, passt die Jacke somit perfekt zur Körperhaltung. Will man die Jacke auch für andere Zwecke anziehen, ist sie dafür - zumindest aus meiner Sicht - eher wenig geeignet. Zum Beispiel beim Wandern läuft man ja nicht gebeugt. Achten sollte man bei der zugehörigen Radhose, dass deren Isolation (Windstopper) vorn möglichst weit nach oben reicht. Ungünstig wäre es, wenn zwischen der kurz geschnittenen Jacke und einer nur knapp isolierten Hose ein ungeschützter Bereich bleibt - das wird dann sehr kalt ... Ich habe zwei Testfahrten unternommen: Einmal bei 10 °C nur mit einem einfachen Träger-Unterhemd von O... darunter. Das war i. O. Und bei der zweiten Fahrt waren es 5 °C zzgl. permanentem Ostwind. Darunter erneut ein Unterhemd und noch ein langärmlige Sportdress. War auch i. O. Die Wärmeisolation ist sehr gut, obwohl sich das Jackenmaterial eher dünn anfasst. Zum Schwitzen hat man keine Chance, weil die Jacke atmungsaktiv ist. Optisch auffallen tut sie ohne Ende - das ist schon ein Hingucker, ergänzt durch gleichfarbige Thermo-Radhandschuhe. Einen Stern habe ich abgezogen, weil die drei Taschen auf dem Rücken - abgesehen von einer kleinen Seitentasche - nicht verschließbar sind. Da regnet es unter Umständen rein bzw. wenn Dreck fliegt, könnte er auch den Tascheninhalt erreichen. Für den Preis sollte ein Reißverschluss machbar sein. Und am Tascheninhalt kondensiert leider auch die Körperfeuchtigkeit - dagegen muss man Vorkehrungen treffen. Nachtrag vom 02.01.2021: Auch bei 2 °C ist die Jacke ok, wenn man ein Sportunterhemd und ein langärmliges Sportdress drunterzieht. Beim Losfahren denke ich manchmal, dass es ziemlich frisch ist. Aber nach den ersten Anstiegen ist alles gut.
