Not a true black

I’m giving this jacket 3 stars for cut and style - and it fits well. I’m deducting 1 star for the dye job; it’s not a true black. It’s more like a deep midnight blue. I’m deducting another star for my disappointment and really wanting to keep it. Sigh.

Love this!

I love everything about the jacket. Only thing negative I can say is the bottom hem rolls up when you wash and dry it, so it needs to be touched up with the hot iron. Does not shrink when washed and dried.

Good and stylish jacket

I love a good casual jacket that I can throw on over a t shirt and this one looks great! It is pretty comfortable to wear and the color is great, it isn't a deep black but slightly washed out, which I like. Be sure to wash it separately the first few times, because the dye does bleed a little. The fabric is thicker and more structured than I thought it would be, so it was a little stiff the first few times I wore it. The fit is a little oversized and I could have probably sized down a size. I usually am between a medium and large and I opted for the large, but I probably would have preferred the fit of the medium. Overall, it's a good quality lightweight jacket, great for any season.

Fabric is too stiff

I think the concept of this jacket was on the right track but the fabric is a bit too stiff for my liking. It doesn't flow and even though I got the black one, it looks faded. Stick to your usual size, it has plenty of room.

A little bulky

First of all, the color on this jacket is just really great. It's surprisingly neutral and goes with a lot of colors. The style of the jacket is nice and I like the overall look. However, it's a pretty boxy and bulky jacket. I'm not the smallest person, and it just feels like I'm wearing a lot of fabric. The fabric did soften and feel nicer after I washed it, but the fit did not change, of course. All in all, it's a nice jacket but I wish that it had a little more shape.

Soft, Beautiful Fabric. Well Made, Versatile Jacket

I picked this up in Dark Olive Green, I like the sort of military surplus vibe of this jacket. I've gotten some items from Goodthreads before, I've always been impressed with them. This is no different. I love that it is almost entirely cotton, the fabric is much softer than I'd imagined, a velvety brushed feeling with a bit of stretch. The dark olive color has a lot of variation to is as well, a lot of depth and shading to the dye job. It's well constructed with four usable pockets and large hidden buttons on the front (with a spare button included inside). The fit is slightly cropped and boxy, it gives it a unisex feel. I think it fits the way it should, it's got room but is not meant to be a close fitting jacket. For reference I got my usual size, XS and am 5'5", 110lb, 32C-25-32. The sleeves are a perfect length, the bottom of the jacket hits right at the top of the hip, if you are very tall I think it might be more of cropped look. It's not too heavy, it would be great for spring and fall on it's own, or layered more in the winter. It does fit under my coat, it's not too bulky. The care instructions are pretty straightforward, it also includes a warning to wash before you wear and the color can transfer to light fabrics. I've really enjoyed all the Goodthreads pieces I have, sometimes I feel like everything is synthetic/polyester these days. It's hard to find things made out of good material at a reasonable price, I highly recommend this jacket. It is a fantastic basic, it would be a great jacket to add some patches to.

Great utility jacket

This sturdy, well-made jacket has a military or industrial or utility look, with a short, boxy shape and details that are reminiscent of a park ranger or construction worker's jacket. It's a great look, and it's useful for hikes, yard work, and other situations in which you don't want to wear something delicate. It looks sharp, too. It's comfortable and made of high quality materials.

Pleasant surprised at how nice this looks. But, more fashion/looks than for warmth.

When I took this out of the package I was dismayed, as it looks small, and the label says US Medium, which tends to be one size down from our UK sizing. But, it's got elastane and the boxy cut means that it fits. I'm a UK12 and this does up but there's no space underneath for a jumper, only a tee shirt. I like the so-called mauve shade, which is actually a dusky pink. It's not particularly fashionable but I like the utilitarian look and the fact that I can dress it up for the office with a scarf, or wear it with a tee-shirt and jeans or joggers. It's not worth £41.99, as it's not a fashionable or branded item. I'd pay up to £25 for it, but if you like a more generous fit, I'd size up once.

Looks nice

Review from my wife : My usual size is UK14, and on the label, It's US M which is a bit tight on me; I can not wear this with a jumper, but over a just top/T-shirt, it's comfortable. The style is similar to denim and looks nice. The material is a bit thick, but it's lightweight and well-made, suitable for breezy days in summer. The stitches are neat and clean, and it washes well without losing colour or shrinkage. Overall, as lovely as this is, the design is excellent and looks good; however, it's on the expensive side for what it is, though (on 12/12/2022). I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.

Super cute casual jacket

This is a really cute jacket that would suit spring or autumn wear. It is not lined at all and is pretty thin so unless you are layering a lot, I don’t think it’d be suitable for winter. I love the colour and style. It is thin enough that you could button it up and wear it as a shirt if you wanted to. It has a few pockets which are really handy. I ordered a size M, I usually wear 10/12. It is a pretty tight fit so I would recommend sizing up, particularly if you like your jackets to have a bit of give in them. Highly recommend and really like this jacket.

Very cool casual jacket

I’m impressed with quality of this jacket, there are no loose threads or unfinished seams. It fits true to size and looks very good once on. Excellent jacket for a casual wear. I got it in navy colour and manufacturer suggests to wash it before wearing as the dye can stain other garment that come into contact with the jacket. It’s made of cotton, natural fabric that washes and dries well. I ordered size XS for myself and happy with the fit, I’m U.K. 6 and quite petite. I really like this jacket, I think it’s a good value for money too.

Good for summer

Got this for my daughter and it fits perfectly as expected. She loves the colour and style. Fabric is made of 98% cotton and 2% elastane. Great for summer evenings casual wear. Neat stitching and front button fastening and machine washable. Comfortable to wear but little pricy. At the time of review this jacket was available for around £41.50 which I think is not worth more than £30 but a good quality cotton casual wear jacket.
