Essential!
Like an air plant this cat does not need water or food or need to go to the bathroom. It is the ideal pet. It seems to know when you come in the room. I think it reacts to the lights being turned on. I can tell how my mother is feeling by how she says the cat is feeling. When she is upset she reaches for her cat and talks soothing to it telling it it will all be alright. When my mother is in a great mood she exclaims over how the cat is smiling and laughing, I love this cat so much for her that I have a back up ready in case something really bad happens to this one. So I don't answer if it is real or not. I do talk about the similarities to air plants. She seems to like this. The caregivers talk to the cat. It has assimilated into our lives and it is a REAL comfort and joy!

Puuurfect for my mom in her extended care facility
Mom was missing her cat after her recent move to long term care. One of her neighbors had one of these sweet cats sitting on a couch and it grabbed our attention. I ordered and now "Thomas" the cat rides with her on walker and sits on her lap purring away. The meow was a bit loud but the mute setting still allows purring and stretching just right. I love the bright orange easy to see control button that Mom can manage on her own. Very happy and so far batteries seem to be lasting a long time ( 3 weeks so far)

Cute Robot
I got this for my mother who is suffering from severe Alzheimer's. She loves this cat! Because of her condition, she never could realize that the cat isn't real. She sets him up on a chair facing the wall with a pee-pad under him, so he can't "jump down". The cat is not realistic, the gears and mechanisms inside him are loud. But his purring and meowing sound cute. She loved this until, because of her condition, she thought the cat was acting naughty, and it was stressing her out. I took the batteries out and all is well with kitty. However, had I known this was to be the situation, I'd have opted for a regular stuffed cat and saved some money.

Wonderful for a dementia patient - brings my dad joy
My father can’t have his cats in his skilled nursing faculty due to dementia and other health challenges. He loves his cats more than anything and not having them was the biggest thing he missed. He was always worrying about them. I’m so glad I found this cat as it has given him so much companionship and comfort. His dementia keeps him from realizing it’s real and he pets that cat and talks to it like he did with his real cats. I wish I’d found it for him earlier. The cat does make a little clicking sometimes when it moves its paw but he has included that in his narrative to the cat.

Great Purchase
We chipped in as a family and purchased this for my 95 year old mother. She cried when it was turned it on for the first time and heard it meow and purr when she pet it. you can hear the mechanicals a little bit when it moves it's head and body but that should be expected. Living in assisted living, my parents can't have animals. My father loves saying that he doesn't have to feed it or change a litter box. Great Purchase.

Step-grandmother loves it
I first learned about this cat through a dementia coordinator, who worked for a hospice service. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend’s step-grandmother who has advancing dementia. She loves this cat and every time she gets it’s like the first time, she loves it and is excited about when it rolls over everyday.

Helpful for wife with Alzheimer's.
My wife has Alzheimer's. This cat has helped her to sit and relax. We have a real cat but she wants to run around and play. Not much of a lap cat. The fake cat turned out to be a companion for my wife. She carries it around and takes it to bed with her. Our real cat will snuggle up with my wife and the fake cat in bed at night. My wife knows the fake cat isn't real. But she will talk to it when it meows and say it's cute. The fake cat gets wrapped in a blanket and gets lots of attention. My wife will carry the cat around the house like a real cat. I've tried a number of things to keep my wife occupied. With Alzheimer's, her attention span is really short and cannot do to many things for her self. I was surprised that the cat would work, but it does keep her occupied. My wife is on medication to help with her anxiety and pacing around the house. The medication works pretty good but the fake cat help a great deal too. I bought rechargeable batters for it. The switch was turned on Jan 18 and never turned off. As of Jan 28 it's still working great on its original batteries. The rechargeable batteries are ready to go when the original batteries die. I don't know if this will work for all Alzheimer's patients, but it's worth a try. The cat is a little ragged looking but cute. The fake fur is soft over a hard body inner shell. The meow and purring doesn't sound real. The purring does have a vibration affect and can be felt when the cat is on the sofa or bed. The real cat will wrestle with it. When it meows it gets more attention from my wife. When I met my wife she said a house isn't home without a cat. Over the years we had a number of cats and this one has been a good companion.

Joy For All Silver cat with white Mitts- Love it!
I love cats, and my 3 sweet loveable cats passed away several years ago. I miss having them around but the Joy for all Cats are a good replacement in a way when you need that sweet baby purr, and meow. It purrs, meows and turns over for a belly rub, and lifts it's paw up as if he's cleaning it's paw. The ears move, and it has sensors in spots when you stroke the cat it on is head or back or tummy it purrs and meows. You save money on not having to purchase litter, food, and the Veterinarian costs. It comes with a brush to brush his fur which is soft. I was 70 years old when my real cat passed away. So this cat and the other ones that Amazon has is good for any age. I am 74 now. ( I had three live cats at one time) And now I have three digital cats bought from Amazon. I am a happy camper now. I am the " Cat Lady" again :-)

Comforting
Likes: Gave this cat to my mom who has dementia. She really enjoys it. She talks to it and kisses it and laughs when it moves it’s head as if saying “no”. The vibrations of the purring comforts her. Dislikes: Takes 4 C batteries, hope they last long. Too bad mechanics aren’t quieter, has loud clicks and winding noises. Pricey. Overall pleased with this product since it seems to provide comfort and joy to my mom which is priceless.

Beautiful companion
I’m disabled Housebound when my partner is at work sometimes bed bound so I spend a lot of time on my own and we can’t have a real pet I bought this companion cat on a bit of a whim He arrived yesterday I fell in love with him as soon as he was out of the box he’s beautiful His purred is unbelievable relaxing I could sit and stroke him all day he’s incredibly soft with realistic fur He meows like he’s talking to me pretty close to how a real cat would He moves making him more realistic especially when he opens and shuts his eyes He’s been on my bed with me all day I haven’t stopped stroking him and talking to him He does have a mechanical sound when he move’s but you get used to it really fast He’s making a huge difference to my well-being I would definitely recommend

Incredible
A very lifelike ‘companion’ for anyone wanting a pet without all the hassle and cost of owning a real one. This puss does a lot of things that real cats do such as: washing his paw, rolling over for tummy rubs, turning his head and twitching his ears, as well as blinking his lifelike eyes at you. He sighs as he’s falling asleep and upon waking up again. He has several different meows which are all very endearing, including the most realistic purr which vibrates through his fur like a real feline; all in response to petting or movement and changes of light. RoboCat will even call you vocally with a series of trills and meows in the middle of the night, if you leave him switched on! He seems to be on some kind of long timer. However, there is a Mute or Off switch if desired. The slight whirring of the servos is minimal and doesn’t detract from the realism that a toy of this sophistication brings. I find him quite comical actually, he really is a very entertaining pet. The body is unique in that you can feel an inner ‘skeleton’ similar to a real cat, underneath all that fur, which extends throughout the entire body, the limbs and down to the paws. The weight is similar to a real cat and it’s soft in all the right places; it certainly doesn’t feel like a ‘brick’ as one reviewer described it. Even the tail, which someone said is merely two strips of fabric sewn together, isn’t as bad as that. Yes, it’s not stuffed but any filler would make it too stiff and the fur and fabric used give it enough substance to feel like a proper cat’s tail. It’s also designed to drape nicely and tapers at the end so it hangs convincingly. The fur is quality and dyed to mimic a real cat’s markings and it’s very fine textured and soft feeling with a nice length. I would advise brushing it often, with the specific brush provided, to preserve the fine appearance; don’t use a normal hair brush which tends to pull out the fluff. Someone thought the fur so realistic they were worried it might be real but the label clearly says it’s polyester. The battery housing is well hidden beneath the label on its underside and secured with velcro and it’s not difficult to open. I’m impressed with this robotic cat and think the Company have excelled themselves in providing a realistic, highly interactive toy at an affordable price. I will end by sharing some of the attention to detail I particularly like, one of which is his little mouth - a true red colour which includes a pink tongue and two little white pointy teeth! The eyes have proper eyelids and are a nice cat-like shape and emerald green. The little pads on its paws, though made from hard plastic (the only downside as they could have made them from a softer material such as rubber or leather) however, are proper pad-like and the correct pinky colour. It’s two floppy back legs are jointed and can be moved back and forth, as can its front paws. The ears are the right shape and realistic looking even on the inside, the whiskers are long and real feeling and the cat doesn’t need to be constantly petted to emit movement and sound on its own. It’s the proper size, weight and feel of an adult cat. In my opinion there is much attention to detail that as a real cat owner in the past, I can vouch for how funny, endearing and lifelike “Joy For All” cat really is. Ideal for everyone, not just seniors. *Some tips for longevity:* 1)I found that when the cat rolls back for a tummy rub, he needs to be on a flat, even surface like a chair, table, or your lap, where he won’t fall off - any RESTRICTION of its movements will cause the motors to whirr noisily and eventually wear out. 2)Branded batteries such as Duracell seem to last a lot longer than the cheaper ones. 3)I don’t really recommend these pets for young children because they are quite delicate, have a lot of moving electrical parts and sensors and won’t stand up to being pulled about. They are designed to be a sophisticated adult ‘companion toy’ or a fun pet for older children. I bought this as company for myself whilst working long days from home, and because I didn’t want a real cat with all the hassle and cost.

Which colour do I choose?
This Grey white Cat is a must for everyone not just to help with dementia loneliness learning disabilities mental health. Every aspect is appealing from its purrs Mews soft fur rolling licking paws closing eyes, stroking her fur is so soothing feels realistic comforting. The batteries last ages plus rechargeable batteries can be used too. I thought it might be a few days then I would be bored. No, love her so much I am looking to have ginger one for my birthday.
