Beautiful wind proof, water proof coat

So, so happy I took a chance and bought on "other options" seller (or something like that). Paid less and it still has the tags on it. Because of many reviews of bad quality control, I checked the coat thoroughly. The stitching is very good. The zippers and snaps are good quality. This ski jacket is a good replacement for my long time winter coat. This year has been significantly colder, rainier, and snowing at lower elevations. A friend told me that ski jackets, while insulated, were lightweight and not bulky. It is a little heavy but when I put it on and zipped it up, I could raise my arms over my head without any restrictions/stiffness. I am confident this coat will keep out the wind because of the many zippers and snaps, and also the inner sleeve that covers my wrist and has a thumb hole.

What a nice jacket!

I ordered it on the hope it would be a decent warm waterproof jacket. I’m so pleasantly surprised what a nice jacket this is. It’s got two inside pockets big enough for any phone and it’s warm! I especially like the two way zipper which is so hard to find it seems. I have several expensive jackets without that nice feature I haven’t tried it in the rain but we’re expecting rain soon so I will hold off judgment on that but it appears it will be great in a heavy downpour. It is not expensive very reasonably priced, so I am very happy I purchased it.

Lacks Quality Control

I really wanted to like this jacket. I'm exchanging it in hopes that the replacement will be better (I don't have high hopes). For reference, I'm 5'5", 125 lbs. The medium fits me in most respects, but the sleeves are a bit snug. I doubt I'll be able to get more than 1 layer of long-sleeves shirts into the arms before it becomes too uncomfortable. However, it does seem thick and warm enough that maybe I won't have to double-up layers underneath. Pros: The Plum color is very attractive. The cut and styling are flattering. Cons (see photos): The stitching is horrendous! Straight lines are wavy, extra fabric is caught in edging, ends are messy with multiple thread colors jumbled in big knots at key visible locations (other reviewers have mentioned this also), loose threads hang out everywhere, thread tension is loose (those of you that sew know what I'm talking about!). Tailor's chalk marks are visible in several locations. All zipper pulls are light-weight and flimsy. I expect they'll snap pretty quick. Also, the front zipper, which is two-way (can be opened from either the top or bottom) has already snagged twice requiring extra effort to take the jacket off. And so much more. I'll update this review after receiving the exchanged item.

Nice quality coat

I think this was an all around nice coat. I returned it because the wrist cuffs with thumb hole were too small and tight on my wrists.

Runs SMALL seems like okay quality but wouldn't know

So based on my size (5'4, size 8) and the sizes described in the product, I should have ordered a Medium. I knew I'd be skiing though and so I layer up typically and thought I'd order a size up. I bought a large, and it says for 12-14 but it fits like an 8. This was tight everywhere. It's even tight on my daughter who is 5'2 and 120 lbs. Returning ASAP. Quality seemed alright which is why I gave this a 2 star, not flattering at all and very light weight. When I picked up the box I had doubts there was even a jacket in it.

This is a true to size, super warm ski jacket

I ordered the Large at first after reading other reviews. I'm 5'8 155lbs, athletic with big boobs. The large was really large everywhere, I don't mind the oversized look but it was quite large in the shoulders and the body so I returned it for the medium. The medium fits perfectly with plenty of room for layers. What I like the best about it is that it is super warm and it is long enough to cover my bum in the back. It has a longer back than front. There are tons of pockets including ones on the sleeve for a ski pass. The hood is big enough to fit over my ski helmet which keeps you super warm. My only complaint is that the neck is a little narrow. I can't get the hood over my helmet and zip the coat up all the way with a gator on underneath. Without a helmet I can have the hood up and zip the coat closed but it still isn't wide enough at the neck to come over my chin/mouth. When recently skiing in the Rockies it was around 0 degrees F and I was so warm I had to remove a base layer, a first for me. It's pretty basic in its looks, the longer back is the only thing "stylish" about it, but when it comes to being warm in the outdoors I value function over form. Great value for $99.

Hood is very large and coat small for me

I was hoping to really like this jacket as the price was awesome. I'm 5'3 and 175 lbs and ordered a large which normally fits. Unfortunately, it was a bit too tight as I'm chesty. I would have reordered a xl however the hood was way way too big, even with the adjustments. I liked the material and style though.

Something not right

Ok what is up with the left wrist??? I loved the coat but the left wrist is stitched wrong! There is a noticeable difference when looking at the sleeves! Ugh Otherwise loved the coat. Think I will be returning sadly

Underrated brand

Very underrated brand probably due to the lack garment description for each particular item. Please Arctix if you read those reviews, consider investing into more detailed descripton either here on Amazon or on your brand's website! What consumers need to know for jackets : pockets ( how many and how deep), hood detachable or not, length of the sleeve, length of the jacket itself. Hardware is decent (I would say Columbia's way better for the reference), stitching would benefit from some improvement, but nothing major for the price! In regards to this particular womens Gondola Insulated Jacket, I have to say: it's true to the size (although, I' m the one who tends to go one size up in outerwear for ease of layering bulkier pieces); however, I have tried their jacket in my size M and I can layer some lighter pieces with no issues. Hood is detachable and adjustable as mentioned in the description. Pockets on this particular model are rather shallow. So, we have two hand warmer style pockets with zipper ( shallow - you cannot fit your bulky mittens in there, just for bare hands). The coolest part, that left sleeve has one small zippered pockets for small items such as car keys, cards ant ets. The interior pockets' closure is not zipper , it's just small piece of velcro - good to keep your phone, but I doubt they're very secure . There are two of the size 6"(W)x7.5"(H) on each side and one smaller on top on left-hand inside pocket 3.5"(W)x5.5"(H). 6 pockets in total. For size L, the length of the jacket at the back (from the neck) 34", front (from the neck too) 27", sleeve - 26", chest 44". Hope this will be helpfull to all other struggling souls who are trying to figure out sizing and fit for this brand.

Bang for the buck

Just got this today for my mom for Christmas, can't say how it's going to hold up, because I don't know, but it seems like a really great jacket. I have one very similar, the brand is LOLE, PAID $500 For it, and the quality seems to be no better than this one for $25. It'll be perfect for layering too, as it is quite roomy. Lots of pocket space, a detachable/ adjustable hood and covers the bum to keep warm. Love it!

Gorgeous jacket

Such a nice jacket and very nice fit just like in the picture. I normally don’t like white but this is very nice and I’m very happy with it. Please make other colours tho because I’d definitely like to buy another one in a different colour as well!

buena calidad pero grande

La chamarra es de excelente calidad, calientita pero viene muy amplia, yo soy normalmente talla S en todo y esta me quedo como si fuera L. TAmbien es mucho que el modelo es amplio y yo pense era mas ajustado, pero si te gustan las cosas amplias esta bien,si te gustan ajustadas, no es lo que estas buscando. Yo la regrese ya que se me hizo muy grande, pero el color esta lindo y la calidad excelente.

Fabulous coat!

This coat is more than I expected, pockets galore for the useful things I carry around. Warm and covers the seating area for when I watch hockey. It's really a very nice coat and the price was exceptional.
