Runs big
Bought L and it was huge. Unfortunately M was sold out. For reference I'm 5'11" waist 34

Comfy and warm
I have only had the jacket for a week, but it is already my favorite cold weather jacket of all time. It's warm, comfortable, light, and allows maximum freedom of movement. And looks good, too.

The Best Jacket ever!
This is the perfect selection for winter!

Had to order XXL because sleeves are short
I am 6’4” tall 195 pounds and had to exchange an XL coat for an XXL because the sleeve length was to short. I have never in my life worn an XXL and this coat is baggy but warm.

Nice Jacket with Odd hood.
This jacket looks great and and fit well but I couldn't get past the hood. The fur is massive, I felt like I had a weird hairstyle when I had it on but the hood in itself is short and has no adjustment in the back. WHen wearing the hood I my neck would start to hurt because it felt like the weight of the coat hung from the hood so for that reason I had to return it. Also no two way zipper on a parka isn't great but very stylish coat that felt warm.

Performed well...for about 1.5 months
For a $320 coat, I'm deeply disappointed. I really only have had to wear it for 6 weeks now. But the weather is changing in Wisconsin, and winter is finally here. I am a teacher and do traffic duty before and after school, and it gets very cold. I loved the hood because I could have it up and still have good peripheral vision, unlike my old parka. However, when I was trying to tighten up the hood a little, one of the pull cords snaped. Now, the hood cannot be tightened, and it greatly reduces the effectiveness and the best feature of the coat. Even if they replace or fix it, how long is that going to take? It's going to be in the single digits for highs next week...and I'm not going to have the coat I needed? That sucks. Lastly, when it does get really cold (I'd day 10 degrees or below) you need to wear a fleece under the coat. It's warm...but it's not elite coat warm.

Best synthetically insulated jacket I've ever owned!
I own the best/warmest jackets money can buy. I'm an outdoor gear junkie. I have the Canada Goose Expedition, the Arc'teryx Thorsen, the law enforcement/military only Arteryx Leaf WX Parka SVX (my warmest jacket). I own two North Face synthetically insulated jackets and one by Arc'teryx. None can match the Reine Parka! The Reine Parka is the only synthetically insulated jacket I've own that can rival a down insulated jacket. In the coldest, windiest weather, I always had to change out of my synthetically insulated jacket into a down jacket, no matter how wind resistant the outer shell on the jacket was. The Reine Parka is the only parka I can see someone getting instead of a down jacket. I've owned only one Helly Hansen jacket before now, the MEN'S CREW HOODED MIDLAYER JACKET. It is the best insulated windproof/waterproof windbreaker I've ever owned! I've worn it jet skiing on a cold morning and didn't get wet or cold! I bought my daughter, son and wife one as well. I read about the Primaloft RISE insulation. I thought, this might finally be the insulated jacket whose technology could mimic down's insulation properties. It did! I'm going to buy a navy blue and black to have in my synthetically insulated jacket and parka collection. I was so blown away by the Reine, that I bought their Varanger Parka (Expedition Level) to see if it would rival my Canada Goose Expedition. I'm going to take the Varanger and the Canada Goose Expedition with me the next time I go to Chicago during the winter or fall. I also bought Helly Hansen's MEN’S ALPHA LIFALOFT™ INSULATED SKI JACKET to see if can be my next level up from my MEN'S CREW HOODED MIDLAYER JACKET. I love Helly Hansen's styles, fit, and pricing. They are real competition/Alternatives to Canada Goose and Arc'teryx!

Very Nice Parka
First off, I used to be super warm blooded and didn’t need a super warm coat. However, the last view years, I’ve aged (considerably it seems) and now I feel the cold. Really feel the cold. My knees ache, my elbows ache, my hands…oh my god my hands…my nibbles, well…we don’t need to talk about them. I had a Columbia Turbo down jacket…not warm enough…Canada Goose parka…ok that one was warm enough. Helly Hansen Ski jacket, didn’t cut it for normal winter wear in Peterborough anymore (still good for winter hiking, snowshoeing). So I searched all over for the right parka, read reviews, asked the manufacturer questions, and finally settled on the Reine. Happy I did. It is a pretty warm coat, -10 Celsius, it’s good with just a cotton long sleeve shirt under neath. I wore it a couple mornings ago walking the dog, -27 Celsius with a HH insulator jacket and a T-shirt, insulated pants, mitts, toque (and boots of course) and I was very comfortable walking the dog. Probably would have been ok, waiting for a bus, or a bit of ice fishing too. Not sure I could have lasted all day sitting on a lake in those temperatures though… It’s got a huge insulated hood and a very generous cut. The arms are well insulated and long enough for me. I am 5’8” 190 lbs. Chest 42”, pant waist is 34. Plenty of room for a sweater or insulator underneath. Haven’t tested it in the rain, but it’s too warm to wear much above 0 C, anyways. Pockets are big and snap closed, along with a couple of hand warmer pockets and a hidden chest pocket with zip. It doesn’t have a draft tube or snow skirt around the waist. If it’s windy I do feel the breeze blow up my back. That’s probably the biggest flaw and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. With an insulator underneath, it’s not an issue. The hood is huge and with the faux fur on it flops in front of my face…I’ll likely never use the fur bit…I wear an old navy large, HH medium, MEC medium, Columbia medium for info. Overall, it’s a very warm, decent jacket.

Warm
I have tested for a week in sweden in january and it makes the job. It has kept me warm. Comfortable and convenient. (The size is almost right for me. The hood is convenient when it is snowing and windy.) Nice parka. Recommanded.

Wonderful jacket.
Fabulous jacket which is just what my husband wanted for our trip to Norway. Generous sizing is useful if he wants to ‘layer up’ underneath, it’s very warm yet lightweight, lots of useful pockets, waterproof, wind proof and insulated, with a cosy removable fur trimmed hood. Bought in the sale so super happy. Definitely would recommend this jacket, in fact, I want one myself!

Surprisingly Warm
Jacket arrived during a very cold week in Saskatchewan. Roughly -35 Celsius with wind chill and the jacket kept me warm during walks without any layers underneath (just a tshirt). Color is a bit lighter than what it was in the pictures (Utility green). Sleeves were a bit on the long side for me but no complaints otherwise, as it is super warm and comfortable. The faux fur is also nice. Order your regular size.

Not a 5 star product
I have been looking for a winter coat for ages the one i wanted was twice the price of this one. It's not as thick as i thought it would be,and the top inside pocket has come undone already after one week of wearing. i am 6'1 15st 44" chest and it was to big in the body and arms ,i ordered a XL going by the HH size chart. Having said that i went for a dog walk yesterday with a jumper underneath and found it to be very warm with the jumper underneath in zero temperatures. I would imagine with a woolly hat on it would be extremely warm , i'm in my mid fifties and i guess i'm starting to feel the cold a little bit more than when i was younger.would i buy another product from HH yes most definitely.
