First of all, the color of the Flint Grey is accurate, but, it actually has a bit of a shimmer. I have actually worn it, and I can tell you, this is in no way shape or form a rain jacket. However, like most of my other windbreakers, it performs very well in a fog, mist, drizzle or sprinkle. But, to wear It in a downpour or even a light rain, I would definitely say, no, not if you want to remain dry for very long. This longer windbreaker is not lined, and for this reason, don't expect to be able to wear it in 50 degree windy weather without at least a longer sleeved garment underneath, unless you are going running or jogging. However, it will feel very comfortable on cool 65 degree foggy calm mornings with just a short sleeved tee or on 60 degree windy but sunny days with a short sleeved tee under it. The pockets are very deep and they zip securely and there is no inner pocket. It has a double zipper closure that makes it possible to unzip at the bottom. This feature can come in handy when you have to scale a mountain or shimmy up a tree. Because, the cut of this jacket is very true to size and NOT oversized, as is often the case, it may seem on the slim side. Just follow the directions for measuring your bust, waist and hips. Measure LOOSELY. Then, check the sizing chart for the size closest to your measurements. If your measurements fall in between, as in hips measuring 48", you should go with the 2X instead of a 1X, because the gap of 1" ( between 47 and 49 inches ), is for easement not sizing purposes. The arms are a longer length than in some jackets, but they are not excessively long. There is a Velcro cinch strip that will allow for adjustment. There is also a cinch strip on the back of the hood. This can come in handy if you have a tiny head, because it will allow the hood to sit back a little so your head won't disappear entirely into the inside of the hood. I firmly believe this is a true Columbia brand jacket and not a knockoff as some reviews have stated. So, if you want a great fitting, well made windbreaker that is becoming to all figure types, and one that you can take hiking or on your summer vacation in the mountains ( mountain evenings can get cool in summer ), or to pack for your winter vacation at the beach ( even southern beaches can be windy and cool in January ), this is the one to have. You will still have room in your suitcase for all those other incidentals and must haves you can't live without.
