All about the cute, not the easiest to use
These are adorable, but a little challenging to get out without breaking the tentacles.

I Love It!
I am absolutely obsessed! They come out so cute! So I have noticed that depending on the liquid you freeze it may be a little more difficult to take them out of the mold. For example, I used almond milk and it was a little more brittle compared when I used water and so the tentacle broke off a little bit. I wouldn’t say that this is the products fault, it’s more on what the liquid is composed of and how it’s consistency is when it is frozen. The ones I made with water came out perfectly. I would recommend this mold to everyone c: (I’ve also attached some photos of this cute ice octopus - one made of almond milk and the other of water)

Keep these 4 things in mind
I really wanted to love the coolamari ice tray, I really did, but alas I cannot. There are a few problems with this product which make it less than what I had hoped for. First, filling the tray is a challenge. The tray needs to be filled high enough so the tentacles are filled with water, but you will make a mess if you fill it that high and then move it to the freezer. The tray bends quite a bit when it's full and you're trying to get it in the freezer. I found filling the tray in the freezer much easier, but at the same time that seems overly complicated for making ice. Second, after having used it a few times I still cannot get the collamari to come out of the tray without either breaking the tentacles off, or shooting them across the room as they pop out. I have done as the directions say (run warm water over the bottom of the tray to release them), but even then I find that unless I warm it to the point where the detail of the coolamari wears off it doesn't help. If I do that and remove the detail I am really just now using oddly shaped ice cubes. Third, when (very rarely) I am able to get a mostly intact collamari out of the tray they LOVE to flip upside down if you put more than about 1/2" of liquid in the glass. Again, it looks like oddly shaped ice cubes when that happens... not fun.... Finally, it took quite some time for the tray "smell" to stop transferring to the ice cubes when I used them. There was a smell and a slight taste, but not enough to change the taste of the drink noticeably. Luckily the smell is gone now. I also purchased the smiley face tray, and other than the smell I have not had any of these issues with that tray. It's a great concept but I guess the collamari is just too awkwardly shaped to work the way I expected. I can say the smiley face works good, but I guess these things might be an issue with any of the other awkwardly shaped cubes as well... Good luck!

Makes cute chocolates!
My kids have food allergies, so each year at Halloween I melt down some allergy-safe chocolate chips and use candy molds to make chocolates for them. I wrap my homemade chocolates in aluminum foil and trade them to my kids in exchange for their candy that they can't eat. This year I made smiley chocolates in these molds. They came out great! The eyes and smiling mouth were very clearly visible. I used a chopstick to poke the melted chocolate deep into the grooves, to make sure it reached everywhere with no bubbles. I'd been using plastic candy molds in past years, but I was worried about so many plastics being toxic, so this year I switched to silicone because it may be safer. The big difference that I notice between these molds and my old plastic candy molds is that these are are much bigger. I made seven big smileys (maybe 2 inches in diameter) and nine Easter Island statues (from these:Fred & Friends Stone Cold Ice Trays ) with the same amount of chocolate that I'd usually use to make a zillion little chocolates. My kids seemed content to have fewer big chocolates instead of more little ones. These trays are a little floppy, so it was trickier to get them into the fridge than the stiff plastic trays I used to use -- I put these on a cookie sheet to move them, and that worked very nicely. These were easier to unmold than chocolates in plastic trays, because the silicone is very flexible. Now that I've done chocolates, I want to try using these to make ice!

Super Cute!
Super cute! Only issue is that it's a little difficult to get the ice octupi out of the tray, but it's worth the small struggle!

Bought this for my son, as a Christmas stocking filler. He says 'cool beans Ma' quite often. Was a bit worried it might not arrive on time for Christmas but it did.
