I thought it would not work as well as it does. It's worth the money and easier than using a circular saw.

What a dissappointment!

I had such high hopes for this saw, but it has too many flaws for me to recommend it. My first cut with it ended horribly because the blade was at less than 90 degrees to the sole plate and after advancing 8" into the cut, the leading edge of the blade was about 3/16" off of the line, even though my fence and the line were perfectly parallel. This meant that the blade was not parallel to the edge of the sole plate. The sole plate is the achilles heel of this saw. After disassembling I ended up moving the washer from the outside to the inside of the depth adjustment slot as well as adding several more washers in order to "drag" the sole plate into parallel and square with blade. It now means I lose the ability to set any depth-of-cut. I'm relegating this saw for rough-cutting duties only - for precision cuts I'll buy something else.

Amazing Saw!

This is an amazing saw! Right now in the process of clearing out storage and building storage shelves. But hardly have any room to build because of everything in the way. Im soon going to build a workbench with a miter saw and where my table saw will have the proper set up when i clear the next bit, but i needed a solution for now. My jigsaw is a pain and a half and my tablesaw cant cut drywall and id prefer to not use on 2x4x8s or 1x12x8s if i dont have to for fear of kickback. This $40 saw is the perfect solution and one of my best purchases. Great for quick cuts on 2x4s in small spaces where a 7 ½ or anything larger wont work! Works perfect on drywall and soft woods and pine boards. Havent tried on any hardwoods yet, but i doubt it'd run into any trouble! Ive experineced no noticable drop in rpm when the boards pinch, no kickback. With quick, yet precise and controlled, cuts this tool will easily become a permanent part of your arsenal!

Blade stops turning mid-cut, and after 7 months the trigger stopped compressing

* Update Genesis finally replied, late but during the COVID pandemic I guess everyone is on a skeleton crew nationwide. But they told me to return it and they would repair it or replace it. I sent it back on July 28 and emailed them with the tracking number. I got a brand new one back in the mail on August 3! Just 4 business days later! They literally shipped a new one to me the minute they got the old one back. So I have to give credit where it's due, I thought that was pretty impressive. Because of that, I bumped them up from 2 stars to 3 stars. * Original review I purchased this in November 2019, and I used it to cut about 20 1x2 furring strips and 1x6 non-treated lumber. It would cut the furring strips fine, but when cutting the longer wood it would sometimes just stop cutting! I would have to back up, start it up again, and then cut a little further. I pulled it out again June 2020, and found that the trigger would no longer compress! If I turn it over and move the trigger back and forth then the blade will come on in short 1-2 second bursts, but when I go back to normal and try to cut the blade won't stay on. You can feel that the trigger compresses about 1/16th of an inch instead of all the way. It's supposed to be under warranty so I emailed Genesis several days ago, but no reply yet. I wish I'd just gotten a better brand, but I was trying to save money :-(

potente pero tiene varios defectos que incluso la hacen peligrosa

despues de varios comentarios pensaba que era una buena sierra .desconozco si los defectos que viene en la mia sean solo en mi caso, pero si la uso así puedo provocar un accidente y muy grave básicamente diseñaron un motor de esmeril con zapata y protector de sierra circular de madera los materiales se sienten firmes y seguros pero viene con un gran defecto , el disco de la sierra esta exageradamente descuadrada a la linea que la base , por lo tanto solo se pueden hacer cortes sin guía, existe una inclinación del disco que cuando le pones la guía el disco avanza 30 cm se atora el disco en la madera y avienta la sierra hacia atrás dando una patada conocida como ,kickback y es bastante peligroso porque la protección de esta cierra es muy endeble y mala . y peor si intentas usar una guía paralela se atora de peor manera y hace mal el corte como ya dije esto ultimo es un peligro sobre todo si la persona es novata en herramientas eléctricas y intenta obligar a la sierra a hacer el corte es una sierra con mucha potencia incluso diría exagerada , pero si la linea de corte no esta alineada siempre harás cortes deformes ,entiendo que es muy barata y a buen precio pero no creo que te sirva si quieres cortes rectos y mucho menos , cortes precisos si quieres hacer cortes sin mucha precisión y con un poco de peligro esta sierra es tu opcion

The saw died the third time is used it.

Great little tool while it worked. The power switch stopped working the third time I went to use the saw. Amazon return policy expired the week before and when I contacted the manufacturer they wanted me to ship the unit to South Carolina for warranty review. The postage alone will be more than what I paid for the saw. kinda frustrating......

wouldn't buy agian, missed the return policy

tried to cut wood but it just burned it's way through, then tried to cut metal but just wrecked the blade. Bought other blades but they will not work on this saw, the blade just spins and will not work. Bought blades from two different places, and there is no adapter kit for the saw so that I can use the other blades. Waste of money.

I should have read the reviews before buying!!!

I thought that this would work great but I was wrong. I didn’t finish cutting through a 2 X 4 when the blade stopped spinning. Now it stops turning as soon as it touches wood. NOT HAPPY, just wasted a lot of money on this for it to quit working on the first 2X4. ????

Guia desalineada, falta de Calidad

Funciona bien si no usas una guia, cuando usas una guia se empieza a atorar, no sabia porque, despues descubri que la Base guia no esta paralela a Disco, o perpendicular al Eje del disco, es una falla de Calidad basica en este tipo de Herramientas, asi no se puede trabajar para cortes derechos siguiendo la guia, y no hay manera de corregir, la Guia esta remachada.
