Good, Accurate set for the money

Most hand tools are now made in China unless you spend literally 20x's more for SnapXx's. Let's get past that point, it's not a reason to give a lower review. If you don't like China products complain to your Representatives and stop voting for the Left. Review: Case is ok for a plastic case. Yes the allen keys do not lock in place and the 1/4" driver adapter socket is a pain to get out but the case works and handles the weight of the tools just fine. As for the sockets and wrenches... I've been using them for over 6 months (bought this last holiday season). I find them very accurate in sizing, comfortable in my hands and good for any project. I was a Level B Union Mechanic for a decade in the 90's, had all SnapXx, and those were great but NOT what the average person needs. This set of Gearwrench are accurate, like I said. The feel is very good, nice chrome, does not hurt your hands on tight nuts/bolts. Those are the facts that really matter with hand tools, accuracy and comfort , and this set excels in both. Bonus: , I can read the sizes easily as well.

Nice Kit, Case not so much

When I received this kit via UPS, it was shrinkwrapped very well. Unfortunately the blow molded case does not hold the individual tools in place very well. When I picked up the box, it sounded like a bag of loose parts. Once opened, all the sockets were strewn inside the trifold case. Took me a bit of time to put them back in their spots. It was then I noticed that the kit was missing a 1/4" drive 1/2" short socket. Instead I had 2) 1/4" 3/8" sockets. So far the ratchets and sockets work well. I was hoping to keep everything in the case, but once you close it, everything falls out of place.

Good tools, Not so much the tool box!

My husband loves the tools. It is the box that he has the problem with. Some of the tools stay in place others do not. He said he wishes that he could get one set of tools that the box that they were housed in would hold the tools in place.

STOP -- this thing is HUGE

When CLOSED, the case is almost 2 feet square (22 inches) and weighs 35 pounds!. When opened, the 11inch panels swing out on each side so it goes to 44+ inches wide, making it very unwieldy. You'll basically have to lay it on the floor to open it. You definitely won't want to carry this beast around! Like several other folks here, I'm stocking tool drawers (not using this case). I doubt most weekenders really need a 1/2 drive set with sockets up to 1 1/2 inch -- unless you're certain you do, you might want to consider separate 1/4 and 3/8 drive sets -- maybe 1/4 and 3/8 sockets on rails (SAE and Metric in both standard and deep sizes), coupled with the excellent GearWrench swivel-head, 120-tooth ratchet set.

Great but missing 1 socket

Great set for this price. Tool truck wanted $95 +Tax more than amazon! Only thing I find wrong with it is that it claims to have a full set of 1/2" and 3/8" drives through such and such socket. But when you open it up, the 3/8" drive socket for 1/2" is missing and in its place is a 1/2" drive. IT DOES NOT HAVE A 1/2" DRIVE SOCKET FOR A 1/2" SOCKET! So if you are one of those people who require a full set with no holes when you put your sockets in a clip holder, i would opt for a larger set. For me, this was just fine, for my boyfriend... well... he bought the 1/2" socket in 3/8" drive on the truck and got his hole filled in =) For me this was easily a 5 star product, great price, very fast shipping time (amazon told me it was JUST shipped as i was unpacking it and putting all the sockets away... little late amazon!) and despite missing a socket, was exactly what i was looking for.

This is an excellent quality socket set

This is an excellent quality socket set. All the sockets have a mirror chrome finish. The sockets fit the case well and don't rattle around when the case is closed. The set has a good variety of metric and SAE sockets. It is easy to tell the difference between metric and SAE. Metric have a knurled ring around the sockets near the top. SAE sockets have two grooves. The rachet wrenches are also high quality with a mirror chrome finish. The only cons I can say about this set is that the case is large (about 24" x 24" x 4") and heavy (about 35 pounds). It would have been nice to have two separate smaller cases, one for metric and one for SAE. All in all I am very pleased with the GearWrench 80933 set and glad I spent a little more to get a higher quality set.

A really nice tool set

The tools appear to be of good quality and contained a very good selection of sockets and tools.The case is low quality and does not do a good job of holding the tools in place. I trashed the case and organized the tools in a large toolbox. GearWrench is sold at my local automotive parts store which will make it very convenient to expand the set and maintain the same brand and look. I would have rated this 4.5 stars if I could have but the low quality case stopped my from rating the set as a 5.

This was a great deal includes nearly everything an entry-level mechanic will need and it's certainly overkill for the home user. I had a ton of tools already but I was missing sockets here and there, so rather than pay the tool-truck guy $11 a piece for individual sockets, I picked this up. The case does indeed suck, many of the tools fall out of place when you pick it up... but these were going in my toolbox drawer so I really don't care. The box folds in 3, I took the 2 sides off and placed the main tray into my drawer. Waiting on socket rails to put the rest of them on!

¡Extraordinario juego de herramientas!!!...

Estoy super contento con éste juego de herramientas de la marca Gearwrench, tiene absolutamente todo lo que necesitas para cualquier reparación en tu vehículo o en cualquier otra área que necesite una reparación. Nunca he visto un juego de herramientas tan completo que tenga dados tan grandes, 32 en milimétrico y 1-1/2 en medida estándar. He visto otros juegos de herramientas de la marca del ”artesano" que aunque contienen muchísimas piezas, prácticamente la mitad son "puntas". En éste juego de las 216 piezas, que además no cuenta el estuche, sólo trae 25 puntas totalmente prácticas;lo demás son muchísimos dados, 19 llaves combinadas, llaves Allen largas hasta 10mm y 3/8" y unas extensiones super prácticas de 1/4", dos de 3/8" y una de 1/2"; por supuesto sus tres matracas que se ven de muy buena calidad. Ah y no pueden faltar sus dados para bujías. No es un estuche ligero, pesa nada más y nada menos que más de 14 kilotes de pura buenísima herramienta. Estoy encantado con éste producto. A pesar que se mencionaba que el envío se realizaría de una a dos semanas dándome fecha de entrega en dos semanas, el envío sólo tardó una semana; nuevamente Amazon NO me vuelve a fallar. Además el precio al que lo pagué estuvo espectacular. Lo super recomiendo y no necesitas ser un mecánico de tiempo completo para hacerte de un juego como éste, siempre habrá algo en que lo vas a ocupar....

Buenas selección de herramientas métricas cas e inglesas

Lo positivo es el acabado de las herramientas, buen terminado a pesar que son fabricadas en China (¿Qué cosa ya no fabrican allá las grandes empresas?) me ha sacado de varios apuros, fue sustituto de una caja más pequeña de fabricación nacional que me robaron. Lo único que no me gusto es el maletín de plástico muy corriente y si no pones atención muy bien de que lado esta la etiqueta de la marca puedes abrirlo mal y se caen las herramientas. Volvería a comprar más adelante un juego de llaves tipo Ratcheting.

Juego de herramientas completo

Es un juego de herramientas que resulta completo para realizar cualquier trabajo básico de mecánica que requiera el uso de dados y ratchet. Asimismo, todos los dados son de seis puntos lo que ofrece mayor precisión y agarre. El precio es razonable comparado con otras marcas.
