Works well and easy to use
The girth of my thighs always causes the inseams near the crotch of my pants to wear out before any other wear begins to show. When this area of my neoprene workout pants started to wear thin and make it too embarrassing for me to do floor work when anyone else was around to see my pasty skin or underpants through the ever-widening thin spots, I finally got this patch kit and fixed my pants. It took a little creative maneuvering to get the most out of this patch and get sufficient coverage over the worn spots on account of the contours of the crotchular region I was needing to patch. Here's how I did it: 1. Assess the damage 2. Create a paper template that sufficiently covers the area to be patched 3. Cut pieces from patch material. I used 2 patches for the worn spots in the crotch on both sides (inside & outside) on both the front and back of the pants then used another little piece to cover a small rip on the waistband (not shown here) 4. I don't have a tailor's ham or a mini iron, so I used a piece of scrap fabric and glass-head pins over an old oven mitt to use my own hand to manipulate and hold the material while pressing small areas of the patch with the tip of my large iron 5. Position patch and use glass-head pins on seams to hold in place while ironing 6. Spot iron patch a little bit at a time, covering less contoured areas first then spot iron areas on either side of a pucker (being mindful not to iron a pucker or fold into the pants) 7. Carefully use scissors to snip the patch over the places where the pants are puckering (sorry for the blurry image - it was difficult to hold both the pants and scissors while taking a picture) 8. Spot iron both sides of the snip on either side of the pucker I did this in on both sides of the pants (inside and out) on the worn spots on both the front and back of the pants. It was probably overkill, but I had enough of the patch material for this amount of coverage and I didn't want to risk further wear on either side. The patches held up so well, they outlasted the whole rest of the pants. I would totally use this product in the future if/when I ever again have worn or torn neoprene to fix.

Few things to keep in mind!
Works as advertised. But I have learned a few things that I think are important. 1- Use as small of a patch as possible. This patch is not as stretchy as thin neoprene and caused more tears on my suit around the patch 2- You must wash the area or it will not stick. I thought I could get by with a lil water wash and was wrong, (any wetsuit wash will do)

Worked on my Quest cycling pants
Took a little longer than expected to get it to stick but worked well on my cycling pants after a fall tore a hole in it.

a nice idea, but it does not work well
The adhesion is poor to begin with, and, the patch does not really stretch much, so once you get it attached, any stretching of the garment in the patch area will cause it to pull off. If you are going to get it, get some seam-grip or aqua-seal to really glue it on, otherwise it will fail shortly. I have used a number of Gear-Aid products over the years and they usually work fairly well - this one does not. You are better off just getting a piece of regular neoprene and gluing it on yourself. I would not buy this again.

Repurchasing at 4am
I bought this in May of 2021 and it’s now January of 2023 and this stuff is on my mind at 4am. I found it based on a recommendation after I ripped a small hole (pea sized) in the knee of expensive, thin leggings I had worn once. I patched them as soon as this came in and after all this time the patch has held up perfectly. My biggest complaint is that I cut the patch a tiny bit too big and sharply square so it was a little noticeable at first but after several months of wash and wear it evened out. No lifting or weird bending. And this thing was smack dab in the middle of my knee. Now I have another pair of leggings with a small hole and I can’t find the rest of my patch from last time…so here I am reordering in the middle of the night…because I know this stuff works and holds up. This time I’ll make sure the patch is rounded off and only slightly bigger than the hole.

Saved my expensive wetsuit
I had an abrasion tear in one elbow of my O'neill TechnoButter wetsuit. If you know these suits, you know they are super-stretchy, comfortable and warm, but expensive and a bit fragile. I applied a large patch (probably 3/4 of the entire patch that came in the kit) to cover the elbow spot that was abraded, and while I couldn't get it completely smooth due to the curve of the suit and the fact that the patch wrapped around the arm a bit, I was able to get a good adhesion that has held up for 4 months of regular use and going strong. Still surfing through the winter with it and it's tight, secure, and not showing any signs of wear or coming off. Super impressed and just bought 3 more kits for myself and friends.

great repair for torn bib shorts
After a 30mph+ fall off a road bike, needless to say there were a few tears in a new set of expensive castelli bib shorts...shame to bin them when there is a lot of wear left in them. I saw reviews for this product and thought I'd give it a go...and glad I did...for less than a tenner,I've salvaged the bib shorts and this stuff is an excellent repair. The shorts have been through the wash many times since and the repair hasn't budged!! Simply brilliant and well worth the money....there's plenty material left as well for more repairs....get some bought

Easy to apply, seems to stick well.
Can't speak for longevity but I crashed a lycra skinsuit and shredded the hip and parts of the arm. Bought this stuff after trawling some forums. It's remarkably simple to apply and sticks brilliantly when you get the iron temp right. I'll update after a few washes if the glue fails but I'm not expecting it to.

Simple and Effective Solution for Fixing Your Cycling Shorts
Used on two pairs of cycling shorts and have to say I am very impressed. One of the mends was very near a seam and one was a large hole on the side - both caused from crashes. It took me about 40 minutes realistically to apply to both shorts. Careful cutting was required! Because it says on the description it is for neoprene I assumed the patch would be thick but it wasn't. It took a long time to iron because I wanted to make it perfect - I definitely recommend spending a lot of time on this! Strangely, on the shorts with the hole located near the seam the patch seems to be holding up better than the shorts with the patch in the middle of the lycra, however I didn't use much of the product and after countless washes I could easily rip the patch off and reapply (much more viable than buying a new pair of shorts!)

Brilliant product
I bought this product after putting a hole in my new cycling shorts and didn't want to throw them away after spending a lot on them! Been out on two rides with the repair and isn't showing any signs of coming off! Would recommend to anyone

Works well for Lycra
I got a tear in my cycling tights after a crash and found this stuff online. It works a treat (just iron on) - several months of wear later and it's still in place, through wet and dry rides. Much cheaper than a new set of tights (and gives that battle-scarred look we cyclists love)
