Fixed
After 10 years the original plastic door hook got worn and cracked. When the door is closed the hook depresses a squat switch in facing frame, which opens a circuit to allow the unit to run normally. When the hook is broken the unit will not work because the sensor thinks the door is open. Easy replacement on my GE Advantium Microwave/Oven. Works great now. The plastic from which it is made seems to be as robust as the original so I hope it will outlive the microwave.

What they advertised is what you get
I didn't mark it "easy to install" because that's not the fault of the item. The door is designed for this part and if it's broken you have to install it a certain way. This hook keeps the door shut. It's easier on the door (less pressure) than the original which I broke trying to get the handle off the door to replace THAT.

Exact fit for GE JVM1540DM5WW
Even though the Amazon tool said it might not be a fit, it was the exact same part for model JVM1540DM5WW. Not Amazon's fault as GE tries to suggest that entire door must be replaced. Several YouTube videos show how to do the repair. Only took me about 15 minutes and I was being super careful.

I fixed my microwave door, I am a true handyman now
I am so smug that I was able to order this part, take apart the microwave door, and fix the dang thing. Riding high. 10/10 , don't buy a new microwave you can absolutely fix that sucker.

This item saved me $300
My microwave stopped closing completely and I couldn't figure out why. If it doesn't close, then the microwave won't turn on to heat food. I almost ordered a new microwave because it's one of the few appliances in the kitchen that I use almost daily. It is an over the range venting microwave so a replacement was in the $300+ range. I found a YouTube video detailing the same issue and the fix was buying a replacement door hook. I took apart the frame with my hands and indeed, that was the issue. I ordered this $6 part and was able to fix my microwave! Thankfully, this was the fix I needed!

also compatible with now discontinued part#WB02X10773 (GE/Haier/Hotpoint Latch Pawl)
original part # has been discontinued by GE. This one works perfectly with GE microwave model JVM1533BD 002. The original part number for the latch pawl (WB02X10773) seems to have been discontinued by GE. This part WB02X11096 worked perfectly. 10 minute swap job.

Worked perfectly. It was a 10 min fix
Although GE claims they are not all the same, it was easy to identify a match. Arrived the next day and in no time our microwave was working again
