Just what I’d hoped
Great sensitivity, spread, battery life and durability. Exactly what I hoped.

BEWARE: MISLEADING DIMENSIONS & a few other things! But still, great for what they actually are.
Note #1:Size NOT as advertised/ contradicting dimensions given. I bought 2 black and 5 white of these for various purposes/ variety of situations, inside & outside. I would have given this 4-5 stars IF there wasn't EXTREMELY misleading dimension information on the size of these lights! (And, wish they were available in a brighter model for other uses). The FIRST paragraph line under "more product details" says: "Product Dimensions: 9 x 7 x 11 inches ; 4 ounces". I JUST DIRECTLY cut/ pasted this now. I was SO excited about this (Larger) size! However, these lights (black & white) are only 3 x 3 x 1.5 Inches. HUGE DIFF! Later-as in just now-I did scroll down & over (on my small laptop screen w/the slider bars) & in the BOTTOM RIGHT is a SECOND product dimention box, which gives the actual small size-totally contradicting the FIRST line. Why would anyone look for that once the very first line gives those large dimentions? Never occured to me. Note #2: Functional Quality: Great motion sensor! These motion sensors work every time, immediately-better than any I have on my hardwired outdoor lighting, etc...Lighting is a bit dim, which I prefer in some places, yet wish was brighter in others, but my needs are met. (Put one in a room w/ 2 entrances, 1 wall light & no switch for it @ 2nd entry. This lets me get into the room & get to either of the 2 main lights w/ ease). I had prevoiusly bought another plug-in motion sensor for a main lamp in the room (from Amazon), but the sensor was so poor that it took too long to pick up my movement & turn light on, and against advertising, could not keep monitoring my presence in the room, so I had to get 1 inch away & do the wavy dance every 15-20mins-uhg!!! so I switched to this & it works much better. NOT bright enough for a work light, but lets me see where they are. Note #3: Slight inaccurate color description: The "black" verson is more of a very dark grey, which is OK w/ me, but very different from what I expected. Depending on your intended use, this may or may not matter. Note #4: I was so impressed w/ the advertised pic showing the light used to illuminate an entire outdoor breaker box, that I want to do exact same thing (after a recent bad experience flipping back on a breaker in pitch black, pouring cold rain). This is an exact application which I need & hoped to use, BUT... there is more than a little cheating going on in the photo! After now having mounted 2 of these & being happy enough w/ the results, I can tell you that this particular photo has the light & bracket just dangling dangerously over the edge in order to get the LED's out far enough to light the panel (maybe even a little photoshop on the range/scope of broadcast light pattern & brightness, not sure but I suspect) & I have no idea what's actually holding it in place, if anything, because the pictured/ included mounting bracket is designed to be screwed (or otherwise secured) to the back of the wall, which sits back too far from any service panel to illuminate if mounted as per instructions/ intended manner. But, this application can be done w/ just a bit of ingenuity. I also bought some WATERPROOF "Command" brand large dual-sided damage-free removable tape strips, just in case (great price on Amazon Prime too), and I believe that I can first tape a small metal "L" bracket to the top front of the svc panel, then use one more adhesive strip on the back of the supplied plastic L bracket, put them back-to-back, and voila. It's set it up in a similar manner as in the photo. Then the LED's should (hopefully) stick out far enough to work & be reasonably safe & secure (for SoCal weather anyway). A number of other similar but heartier rig systems can be easily designed, I'm sure (2x4 scrap cut to size to screw bracket into, make a little housing/roof cover if in bad weather area, etc...) Just know it won't come out of the box w/ what you need to do what they advertise as pictured. Also of note, being fulfilled by Amazon, there's no easy way I can see to leave "seller feedback", informing them of the misleading info, but I'll keep trying. I just hope this information is helpful to others. These are not as big or bright as I'd like, but they are so reliable (trip easily) & multi-functional (stick anywhere in seconds) that I've found great uses for all of them. I'm even thinking of mounting 2 to the outside of both my van sliding doors & adding an RV type awning for beach/camping night use or just plain extra cool factor & security.

Bought this Gardener's Supply Company Step Light in 2014 and it is still working great!
I bought this Gardener's Supply Company Step Light in 2014 and have used it under some really bad conditions, but it just keeps on working. At one point I had it under my porch for nearly a year to try to scare away a skunk. Recently it was in my garage for a couple years because I didn't need to use it. I got it out a couple days ago, put batteries in it, and it works just like new. The batteries last a long time, too. Great product.

I - still - love these lights.
I love these lights. I have them under cabinets in the kitchen so when you wake up for that midnight drink, these light the way. I also attached them under our sinks so I can see and reach things quickly. My cousin came to visit and saw the various uses of the lights, and ordered some for herself. I also put one next to the door in the garage so we can see the locks in the dark. I also put them in the hallway outside bedrooms so guests can find their way easily. The lights are lit for about 30 seconds and then fade into darkness until triggered by motion again. They use three AA batteries. I use rechargeable since I have so many lights. These are also useful during power outages to navigate around the house. Update 5/8/17: still love these lights. Since I first purchased these, I now have two dogs. I have a half gallon water dispenser in 3 bathrooms and placed one of the lights on top of each. When the dogs get up at night for a drink, this lights up their bowl. I also added one on the back of all the toilet tanks in the house for light at night - especially great for guests. Since they are on and off within 30 seconds, I can navigate downstairs for a midnight drink without ever turning on a light. I keep finding places to use these lights !

Get extra Battaries
These units are very bright and look great hanging on the wall. I used Commander strips to hang them so I can remove them without leaving a mark. The problem is that of the 10 I received some of them will not activate unless you are only 2 feet away. All of them will come on during the day. The sun must be hitting them directly or all the lights on in a room with the blinds open to keep them from activating unnecessarily. You cannot sit them on the floor as the light sensor is on the bottom.... silly place to put it. If I sit one upside down the light sensor works as you would expect it to but then the lights shine in your eyes. I called their customer service and they where very nice. They told me to experiment with each of the 10 units testing them at different distances and brightness blah blah blah and then send back the defective ones at my expense and they would replace them with units that then I would have to test blah blah blah and re return them till I get 10 that work as advertised.

Simplicity
Solar lights are typically junk and in my area deep in the woods, I have insufficient sun for them to be near practical. I've had this Maxsa battery-powered light outside now for just about a year, including a pretty severe winter, and it is still working fine now with the same battery. It doesn't generate a huge amount of light, but it is sufficient. I've found that I like better having lights turn on only when necessary rather than being on all night because 1) I like the nighttime darkness and 2) the motion detection trigger adds security. I now plan to install many more of these throughout the woods. And I plan to use re-chargeable batteries which I will have the option to power from a properly situated solar panel. The only conds to this light... 1) like every outdoor light, the light/dark sensor is much too sensitive. It turns on much too early or while there is still sufficient daylight. I've yet to see an outdoor light that does not have this problem. 2) It could be made a bit more robust, but it's not bad and it has a low profile.

Great lights for dark spots in home
Great little lights, nice and bright. Motion sensor so they turn on when it senses you...takes a little while to turn off (i think instructions said 30 seconds?) Can be mounted (comes with mounting bracket and screws) Not sure how long they last as I just started using them.

Motion activated light
This product is exactly what I needed. It turns on when there is not enough light and when it senses motion. I put it in my garage just outside the entry door from the basement to give enough lighting for us to find and put on our shoes.

They are too small so they do not really make a difference . I will return them
