Had Great Expectations but Product and Amazon Dissapointed Me.

First of all this Timer was received in poor product packaging. This raised my suspicions but nevertheless I proceeded to unpack it and carefully read the Instructions (Safety, Installation, Operation and Troubleshooting). While doing this I was also preparing my sprinkling / misting system to manage a set of ornamental indoor and outdoor plants. My wife and I were proud of our achievement. We had ordered the nozzles and tubing via Amazon and they arrived as Ordered. The nozzles came from China. The quality of these nozzles is another story though. The time came to put the system into operation so we began by testing the opening and closing of the Timer's valve that controls the flow of water at the prescribed time settings. We followed the Manual's instructions to do the pre-Test. The valve remained closed and has not opened. We rechecked the instructions and tried the "Test' sequence several times. Nothing happened by way of the opening and closing of the valve. Instead water seemed to have somehow entered the internals of the unit and leaked out through the structural/assembly seams of the unit. We also observed that some water also got into the battery compartment. Attempts to contact Amazon to get some guidance as to how this problem could be resolved proved futile up to this day. They have been as silent as a dead body and this is very surprising and disappointing. It's also uncharacteristic of Amazon not to respond to their Customers' issues as they continually boast that they constantly review all comments and issues raised by their customers. Obviously this is not so. I am hoping that they will respond to my request to replace this Timer and send me a brand new, manufacturer packaged working unit. It would also be helpful to hear from Gardena on this issue. Gardena must come fort and protect its good name and product.

Well built and works all the time.

Nice product, seems well built and works like a charm. It really solved a problem for me in setting up a drip system in a part of our property that had no power or ability to run wires from other controls. We use it on a line with 30 drippers and it has worked great since I first turned it on.

Quality Water Timer

Arrived quickly, installed easily and works like a charm. Looks to be well-made. I am a fan of Gardena and use them for other gardening products as well. The timer has several simple functions allow for multiple durations per day and multiple time settings up to 2 hours. Up and running for 2 weeks now with no issues whatsoever. I am very pleased. The only downside with Gardena in general is that the instructions seem to be made for scientists to read. They use European standards and typically do not do a great job of explaning how to use the product effectively.

Use a 10-year battery; you won’t get it out

I used the Gardena timers for one summer and as timers they performed well. Installing the batteries is a one-way trip, though. The only way that I can think of to remove them is to break the plastic strap that holds them in place and use duct tape the next time I install batteries. If this company conducts beta testing before a product is released, it’s hard to imagine this timer passing the battery test. Maybe they didn’t think of it.

Not for my purpose

I must say I love Gardena products. This timer just didn't work for my purpose. It is very good quality but I wanted a timer that I could program to turn off and on from 3-5 in the morning. In order to do that, I would have to program it at that time!! No way I want to stay up just to program a timer!

Nearly 2 years continous operation

No complaints, much better than cheaper competition. Connections are strong and long lived - we have high water pressure in Malaysia. Previously used gear driven rotating plug valve allways failed within two years. This seems to have a different mechanism - keeping our fingers crossed.

Excellent product

Just excellent product. easy to program, easy to connect, sturdy and good quality. The price is equivalent to quality, do not waste money on equipment cheaper than you probably need to replace the first day of use. Gardena is best.
